I'm a bit of a DIY guy but I can understand why professionals install these systems for a living. A lot of variables and often pros can advise the layperson on how to operate the whole system. Much respect for doing it yourself. I'm on the verge of doing it myself but I honestly don't trust my current abilities. 🖖
On the other hand...If I do it myself I will save a lot of money and only I will know where I put those cameras on my own property. No potentially shady company involved.

Nice video. I work installing CCTV and the only thing you missed was the pipes to protect all the wiring. Weather and rats can destroy your investment if you don't protect your wiring
Can I add an external storage to SWANN 4500? Like a Western Digital because I use continues recordings? 720 not 4k but store at lease a month. Thank you

The thing u drill into is definitely not plasterboard. Is either fibre cement sheet or asbestos considerimg the age of your house.

What did those blue network cables had to do with the cameras? You only need to show the camera installation once but how to put the system together is what I wanted to see.

all those who are asking quesiton abt settingup security camera its not difficult
1. Connect DVR to TV
2. Connect Cameras to DVR
3. Power everything up
4. Change the input of your tv to DVR/VGA/HDMI
5. use mouse to operate and create user account etc.

Concrete dust will be the new asbestos, you can’t breathe concrete dust in either, it says it on all the bags of cement and it’s a known problem of the tradie world that when you keep breathing it in it will clog & harden in your lungs. when you do you safety cards for work it’s the next chat after asbestos
google user I’m not saying it is more dangerous than asbestos. I’m saying it will be the next issue of lung related disease. They haven’t really looked into concrete as much as asbestos hence why you wouldn’t really hear about it unless you’re in construction industry of these days doing your safety induction. I’m a concreter that’s the only reason I heard of it and I have cut concrete for years and never known about the damage silica can do to your lungs only when I started with a new contractor we really heard about it so I started looking into it. End of the day your right, concrete isn’t as dangerous as asbestos but it’s still a issue and as for banning concrete they can’t it is the foundation of everything we build nearly until they find something else to use instead they would never ban it. FYI they knew asbestos was dangerous for decades and decades before they banned it

It's not plasterboard, it's cement board. Too many houses have the same boards. Only if you test for asbestos to know if it's asbestos.

I just in an Swann 8 camera system 4 months ago myself. The clarity is fine. it's a little over my head to download everything. Recently 2 of the cameras have stopped working for some reason. I don't know if it's the camera or the wiring. it was working before.

Wouldn't of drilled into the NBN wall plate as it makes it look messy, you can get a wall plate for feeding wires through from Bunnings.

No security systems are relatively useful but do not use the premade wires learn how to cut your own wire make your own fitting by signees wire this one wire is that too long in some instances the wire is just not thick enough to give you a good solid digital signal

I recommend you not to do it, as they are not easy to join again. You need to have special tools to do it.

You need the DVR box. Then on the pc you can download the software go view it.

The cameras tend to be fairly good quality but all the cables I've had to use supplied with different Swann camera's have been shockingly poor! As an Australian I expected better from an Australian company but like everyone else they have all their kit made in China by the lowest bidder so it's crap or crap+ for a choice. My solution is to use RG59+2 shotgun cable which is basically a figure of 8 cable with coax and a pair of power supply wires.
Not very good, the video and power cables are too thin with big connectors, making you drill big holes for small cables. The mouse 🐁 looks like from $2 shops. Poor quality for a well-known brand. Anyways, this is my first system so I can't compare with other brands.
