    You mention wage increases and stimulus payments (which increase access to money for most people) and high inflation (which dilutes the value of this money). Are wages (particularly for those earning the least) rising faster than inflation, or the other way around?

      Tricky to tease this one apart. At first glance, yes median wages have risen significantly. However, this is mostly driven by labor force recomposition, i.e., low wage earners were most impacted and likely to lose their jobs as a result of the health crisis, thereby pushing up the median wage stat. I think we are going to have to wait and see, but my guess is that wage growth will outpace inflation, especially for those at the lower end, as that has been a trend since before the pandemic.
