Call me an extremist, but I’d say the US is very content on having the least labor protections in the developed world. Back on the actual discussion within the debate, they mention that the price of groceries has gone up 20% in the last 4 years. As a consumer it feels like they’ve nearly doubled since groceries are far from the only items increasing in price. According to the Dow and S&P500 America has never been stronger, but according to public perception and labor unions you might get a different answer. Call me an extremist, but I’d say the US is very content on having the least labor protections in the developed world. Back on the actual discussion within the debate, they mention that the price of groceries has gone up 20% in the last 4 years. As a consumer it feels like they’ve nearly doubled since groceries are far from the only items increasing in price. I’m no leading economist but I’m pretty sure the US could strengthen consumer and labor protections without harming our steady economic climb.
