How to grow chillies in the UK?

Growing chillies at home are easy, and there’s a huge variety of different types to choose from. Whether you want flavour, heat or colour, there’s a chilli pepper seed for every occasion.
Homegrown chillies can be delicately mild or fiercely hot. Incredibly versatile, you can grow them on sunny windowsills, in a greenhouse, or directly in the ground.

Once a week fed with general plant fertiliser should help them grow. Don't repot them until you have 3 full sets of leaves as they can suffer transplant shock

There's no need, they are one of the easiest plants to grow, even in northern Scotland I managed to grow like 6 plants within 2 years and have more chillies than I can use, so I had to pickle them. They really are easy, literally just chuck them in any old damp soil, as long as you keep them inside during the winter. I've kept 3 plants alive since February 2022 with very little care. I actually had to prune them this year as it grew a little too large.
