You look like a sunshine and your room is so sweet😭💕💗
Omg that's such a beautiful thing to say 🥹
Ngl looks mentally unstable .
damn I was about to say this person is another fat positive tiktok user
I really don’t need iPad or do any digital art. But I love to watch Apple reviews, and your video is a great. U did really god job and I love it 🥰
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
I wanted to start my art Journey as well and your video made me decide to get an iPad mini and I’m happy with my decision, thank you 😊
It's so exciting that you're starting your art journey! You've got this 🥰
Thank you! I was thinking about this. I think Ipad mini is good for light work. Also your shades is very pretty!
I totally agree! (And thank you! 🥰)
Great overview - thanks! I use a Mini for sketching outdoors, in cafes etc, and it’s perfect for that. Working at home, I use a 2018 2nd gen 12.9 “ iPad Pro. It’s a bit older now, and only uses the 1st gen pencil, but it’s still works beautifully for making digital art with Procreate.
That's a great idea!
thanks for your review! I am looking for an iPad to start doing digital art as an entry into iPads i really appreciated this thank you
I switched from my big Gaomon PC drawing tablet to an Ipad mini 6th Generation and I looove it!
Its so portable and affordable for artists wanting a little more than just a few colored pencils or choice of color techniques when creating art with paper!
Im currently using Clip Studio Paint on the Ipad Mini 6th gen and I sometimes put my ipad sideways to have more space, but since I like creating artworks on smaller pieces I dont mind it at all!
So I would recommend!
Ive also been thinking about trying Procreate too
But I love this video and the way you explained the pros and cons! ☺️
That's exactly it! It's so perfect for it's portability! I didn't even know clip studio was available on iPad! 😮
@@rayncloudart It is! ☺️ when using Clip Studio on the Ipad mini 6 the boarders with the tools and layer sections kinda take up some space but you can customize the size to your liking to make it work for you! Im pretty sure this is already known but Im happy to share!
@@BunnehQueen thats so cool! I'll have to take a look!
I have plans on buying an Ipad mini mainly because logging with me the largest ipad on trips or at school next to the pc is bothersome and takes up space. I'll still use my Pro 12.9, just at home instead :) can't wait to try out the Mini with Procreate!
Thanks for the review! really helpful to get an artists perspective on this!
It's really great for travelling, I'll definitely be keeping hold of it even after I upgrade! I'm glad my video was helpful! 🥰
I love my iPad mini 6. Had it year or two now. And love the size. Haven’t regretted it at all. I know people with the iPad Pro and they are too huge and heavy for me. I take my mini everywhere I go. And I’ve started doing commissions on my mini
It's so easy to carry around!
Yes it is so easy to carry around.
Unrelated but I love your outfit and glasses so much!!! ❤
Thank you so much 🥰
This was the perfect review for me 😭😭
I'm so glad it was helpful!

i swapped from my old phone to an iphone mini, so i thought about swapping my ipad too. my hands are very small, and holding large devices gives me carpal tunnel. this helped.
thank you for your review!
Thank you for your review :) just like you, I didn't have any Apple products at first and the Ipad Mini 5 was the best choice to draw remotely and I don't regret it. Now I just wonder if I should upgrade to Pro or not...
It really is such a great first iPad! I definitely want to upgrade at some point but I don't feel any urgency, my iPad Mini is still holding up well 💖
I loved my iPad 10th gen, but because I use affinity photo and Davinci Resolve the iPad can't really handle the programs properly. I had to bite the bullet and get the iPad pro M2 11 inch. That size is perfect for me since I work still full time and Ik a lot of people recommended the M1 but my carrier doesn't have them in stock anymore. I'm pretty excited to get it and test the limits of it!
It definitely sounds like that was the right choice for you! I'm looking forward to finally having a bigger screen for my art. 💖
Just what I was looking for, I have an iPad Pro and it is huge but very good to have it at home now I think that an iPad mini will be good for me to work outside the sketches that I work on the iPad pro
I'm glad I could help! I really love it as a portable digital sketchbook!
I was using a 9.7” iPad Pro that I had bought in 2016 for procreate and it was awesome… I didn’t think I would love using a device as a sketchbook, but procreate, a paper like screen protector and the iPad changed my mind. In 2020 I found a stupid good deal on a refurbished 2018 12.9” iPad Pro … it was mind blowing… in the beginning of the pandemic… took things to a whole new level. Wow. You are going to love the bigger iPad. I’m putting it out to the universe that I wish for you to find an amazing deal and drawing and digital art creating Nirvana with a bigger iPad Pro!
Thank you 🥰 I'm so glad that it brought you so much joy!
I have the mini and love it too. I'm not too artsy but trying t o learn procreate. I also have an iPad air and love it too. If you are wanting a bigger iPad try and hold off a couple months as sometime this spring they are ALL supposed to be getting a refresh and that means that if you are wanting to save some $$$ the older models will drop in price when the new ones are released. Or you can just go for the new one if your budget allows. Love your video and plan to watch more on your channel.
That's great advice! Thank you so much for letting me know! 🥰
I’ve been drawing on my iPhone for years I feel like although I’d like a bigger screen I should get used to having a screen bigger than my phone first. Thank you for your input I was trying to figure out if I should get one.
I'm glad I could help 🥰
Hi! I'm so happy TH-cam recommended me this video, this info is really useful! New subscriber here hehe 🥰
Thank you! Welcome to the Raincloud! 💖
this is interesting to me, I tried getting into digital art using a second hand cintiq 16. It was great, but I ended up falling off it and not really using it as much as I'd like, mostly because I find the setup at my desktop so clunky and hard to get into. I hardly use my desktop nowadays, I'm mostly on my laptop in bed so I can't even use it without quite a bit of effort. Considering I never used it for much more than a sketchbook anyway, I think this might be a solid option to get back into art a bit. Might sell the cintiq, will look into my options more. Thanks for the video.
It really is so great to have something as portable as an iPad mini, as much as I'd love a desktop drawing tablet one day!
I bought myself a 22" XP Pen display "tablet" for my first digital drawing tablet, and honestly I regret jumping straight in with such a large screen. I've barely used it at all since purchase, as it's just too large and unwieldy and I can't exactly TAKE it anywhere with me. Now I'm thinking of getting an iPad mini to give digital drawing on a screen with a pen another go (I've gone back to using my mouse again, and sketchpads when out and about). To me, the iPad mini makes more sense as a tablet than their larger offerings like the iPad Air which are still too unwieldy in size (honestly, if you're going to get one THAT big you're better off just getting a Macbook). Thank you for making this video, I don't mind the fewer layers as I work mostly with Vector art so layers aren't quite as vital, and I also don't mind the smaller memory because getting into the practise of backing up my files/artwork more often is a GOOD habit to develop! My favourite thing about the iPad mini is that it's more like my small drawing pads that I tend to favour anyway (I don't tend to do big art pieces except for the rare occasional desktop wallpaper).
It sounds like an iPad mini could be a perfect fit for you!
Thank you for this Review 😀
I bought an Ipad Air 2years ago after i did some research on which Ipad i should get to stat digital Art (I am traditional Artist)
And the final decision was made because the Ipad Air was available in blue, like my hair color back then sooooo i got it 😁
I don't regret buying it at all. I take it with me whenever I can, absolutely love it 🥰
I chose the lavender iPad mini because that was my hair colour at the time!
Are u using apple pencil, would other cheaper alternative styluses work similar to apple pencil
I do use the apple pencil, as far as I know you wouldn't get any of the pressure sensitivity that you get with the apple pencil and for me, that's one of the major selling points.
Yes and no, but mostly no. Simply because it's mini. I used to do digital art as a hobby, but i don't really do that anymore. However i still like playing games, so i downgraded from ipad pro m1 to ipad mini.
It's doable, if you're willing to compromise. 11" screen ipad is the sweet spot for digital art, imho. Unless you're using ipad mini as your second tab, the main priority should be the bigger one for digital art.
The mini is definitely a compromise, I look forward to upgrading!
i naturally draw small so i think would be great for me
That would definitely be a plus for using an iPad mini! It's a great little tool 😊
I'm planning to learn digital art. Which iPad should I get? My budget isn't that much.
I've only tried the iPad mini but I chose it because it was the cheapest option that I could get, I think it's a great tool for learning the basics of digital art and I'll definitely be holding onto it even when I eventually upgrade for a higher screen 🥰
@@rayncloudart Thanks for replying me. You're doing a great job. Best wishes for you ❤️
Loves your glasses, so cute. Awesome review!(。•̀ᴗ-)✧
Thank you 🤗
I have a question. Is the iPad Mini 6 better than iPad 10th Gen for digital art? I'm confused between iPad Mini 6 and iPad 10th Gen. Please can someone help me out here?
I'm afraid I can't help on that one as I've only used the iPad mini, but hopefully others will have some input 🥰
@@rayncloudart Oh ok! Thanks anyways 😀
Hi. Both iPads can run Procreate. The iPad 10 is cheaper, and has a larger screen. However, it uses “Apple Pencil USB’, which doesn’t have pressure sensitivity. That’s a serious drawback for digital sketching / painting. The iPad Mini advantages are more powerful processor, an antireflective coating, which helps if drawing outside, and compatibility with Apple’s best pencil, the “Apple Pencil 2”.
If you don’t mind a small inconvenience, you can get an adapter for the iPad 10, which will let you use Apple Pencil 1. I use the Apple Pencil 1 with my 2018 iPad Pro and it has pressure sensitivity and does everything else I need for digital art. So you can definitely make an iPad 10 work for you, if you’d prefer the larger screen. Good luck with your decisions!
@@vwood2 Thank you so much 😀
iPad 10 only uses the usb c pencil unfortunately, mini 6 uses 2nd gen pencil so I recommend that one. Which is the one I got
The ipad air is just as good as the pro in my opinion. unless apple does something magic with the pro i will keep with the air. I think the biggest thing is the chip and the storage size.
That's great info! I don't know a whole lot about apple products since this is the only one I have 😅 I'll definitely keep that in mind when it comes to upgrading!
Can anyone tell me is 64gb storage enough?
Mines 64gb and it's still going strong! I only use it for notes and procreate but I have plenty of space 💖
@@rayncloudartthank you ❤
you can just use your phone for references when travelling
that's a good point!
@@rayncloudart did u ever try to do that? what do u think?
I have! But sometimes it can be a little awkward if I'm out and about because I need to make sure both devices have plenty of charge! (Also I sometimes enjoy watching movies while I draw)
First time to your channel. But unlike others, I'm too distracted by your glasses and the busy-ness around you. I could barely listen you speak. But, I'm easily distracted.
I'm sorry you feel that way, it looks like my channel isn't a great fit for you 💔
Its definitely not simply a bad device and the size is also fine for lots of artists. It's just that the longevity will NOT be good, and you can get a great tablet for an even lower price for android so I still dont get why you switched to apple. Even most software has great alternatives on android
I'm gonna be honest, the only reason I chose the iPad was for the Procreate software and I would do it again! The software is far more affordable than most other digital art software, the apple pencil is excellent to use and I enjoy using procreate as a whole.
@@rayncloudart idk, i dont blame you, Procreate is amazing mobile software but I feel like Sketchbook, Medibang, or even Krita (that one maybe not for smaller screens) are extremely close in functionality and have free versions.
@@rayncloudartIdk, I feel like Sketchbook, Krita (maybe not for smaller screens) and especially Medibang are getting pretty close to Procreate and have free versions. And regarding the hardware, while its a good 2'' larger, GalaxyTab S9 FE for example is about 50$ cheaper and comes with the SPen which would cost an extra 180 on Apples devices. And by the way, I might be criticizing a lot but I actually quite liked the video
Personally I've already tried so many other programs that I knew exactly what I was after in a digital art app, I knew that I wanted something super minimal and I also had some favourite brushes that were designed for procreate and I wanted to be able to use them.
That said, you're definitely right that there are more affordable options that might work better for others! I can only speak of my own experience though 🥰
It's all good, my videos are designed to open up discussions so it's great to hear your perspective!
