    After using this swing for about a year now, changing from a very rotary square to square swing, and following your tapes, I like the fact that you do not cup your wrist at the top of backswing. I tried the cupping thing proposed by some instructors and it didn't work as well for me. Too hard to time it. Thanks for all the help.

    Great stuff Andrew. I like the way you emphasise at about 0:49 how important it is to have a neutral grip and have the club centred at address. I think both points are crucial to executing the MDLT swing. That and allowing the body to respond to the motion of the club swinging. By the way, I empathise with your MDLT vs George Knudson debate. Both methodologies are superb and -- if done right -- both will generate centrifugal force and the feeling of the club pulling the arms out of their sockets. I find MDLT easier to execute and cannot wait to get back on the course after lockdown here in the UK.

      Thanks for watching , what I like about both techniques is how unconplicated they are, so much easier to learn.and correct if things go wrong as they do LOL.

    Love your swing...are you aware that your head moves laterally to the rear immediately and stays back through impact...perfect!

    Beautiful swing. Love how the trailing hand goes low for release at impact...I've been working on that and call it the "handball "position. I've gotten Ernest book after watching your videos and wonder if the low hand release contradicts his method? Thanks for taking the effort to post this stuff!

      @MrLeftyno1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi SCTV69, First thanks for watching, as for the trail hand finishing low, If you imagine the most extreme case of trail hand high it would be a chicken wing impact which is obviosly bad , but more so if you do the swing one handed at home using your trail hand finishing low would be powerful, finishing high would add loft at best but cause all manner of faults, to be truthful its not something I even think about anymore, but doing the tyre drill and working on my balance and footwork helps towards keeping it, Hope this helps

    Do you put all the club in the center included the driver ?

      Hi Gab, I dont put the driver in the centre , I know Manuel did , but it just doesnt work for me.

    Talking of targets - when chipping, do you subscribe to the idea of a larger circle to aim in to or just the hole..?

    • @MrLeftyno1
      @MrLeftyno1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me I visulize the shot and then aim for my landing point on the green, I watched and learnt this from being right next to Bernard Langer at 1986 world matchplay at Wentworth, Bernard had just missed a green and he explained to his caddie exactly where he was going to land the ball and then it would roll to the hole, he executed the shot near perfect landing on his target area ,the ball came to rest 4 inches from the hole for a gimme par. Just watching that changed the way I chipped and pitched, so I see the shot ,see the landing point and then play the shot, hope this helps.

      @@MrLeftyno1 Yes, that's what I've always done too. But when playing a bump-and-run or a lag-putt many advocate targetting an area. I target the hole.
      I believe the mind is stimulated better with as much detail and precise intention as possible.
      Thanks or taking the time to reply.

    do you use the Dante takeaway on this swing?

    • @MrLeftyno1
      @MrLeftyno1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Truthfully in this video I am concentrating on swinging the club not just one small part of the swing , but I have done the Dante hinge for years now so it is a natural movement for me, that I don't have to think about.

    I find I do well with de laTorre's advice to "swing the club over your back shoulder, brush the grass and look at the target" when I have a good lie. But when I have a tight lie I get psyched out and skull the ball because there is no grass to brush and I am reluctant to hit down on the ball and take a divot. I would sppreciate any advice. Thx.

    • @wallinlitwa
      @wallinlitwa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't let the golf course control your swing. Getting psyched out creates tension which is incompatible with swinging. Stay FLEXIBLE swinging forward.

    • @MrLeftyno1
      @MrLeftyno1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul it sounds like you are more bothered about brushing the grass than the target, as Manual and Harvey Penick said focus on the target, your brain is focused on brushing the grass, so no grass means your brain can not focus, when I swing I am focused on my target as this is a target focused game, so you should concentrate on where you want the ball to go too, then it does not matter to your brain if the ball is sat on a bare lie or a grassy lie because your brain is shot and target focussed.

    What your not doing is keeping the club and hands centered at set up! Your hands are ahead of the ball!

    • @MrLeftyno1
      @MrLeftyno1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Someone else mentioned that point and I mentioned that Manuel in later years did allow for this and it works for me , at the end of the day if it doesnt fit me it does not help me, but it is still a swinging motion. cheers.
