Ya get the 240v charger and don't use a regular extension cord, it overheats easier and you will get less charging

I recommend to you not to change your tesla with a power cord...is a lot better and safer connected to a outlet or ever better to a 240 outlet

Sooo excited for you. My lrm3 is 6.5 years old and I love it even more….hope that tells you something….from a long time m3 owner. I waited 2.5 years on the wait list and 0% regrets. Loveeeee your white seats. I want to get the updated Highland m3 too….white seats, either red or blue exterior. Just not sure when because I still love mine. I did recently drive that car and I prefer sliding up and down to drive and reverse over the buttons. I use voice command a lot to open my glove box and other stuff. One pedal driving is most awesome. For the left and right blinker you don’t need to look at the steering wheel, just use your thumb to feel that slight raise and if I remember correctly if you touch above the bump it is the right signal or below of the bump is left signal. The screen is easy. Just think of it as your phone. Watch an intro video and you will know your settings. Use your phone app too.

I see regret going with the Porsche and not a Tesla. I would sell it my friend. The technology in the Porsche feels ancient compared to the Tesla. As nice as it is to take curves in the Porsche. The Tesla is overall the better vehicle for half the price.

The 2023 Model 3 didn't have a rear screen. The 2023 also didn't have the ambient light strip. Spend some time going through all of the menus and setting screens. You don't use Neutral for a car wash, well, you do, but there is an actual 'car wash mode' that also locks the charging door and I think some other things. Every time you get an update you will see blue dots or rectangles in front of the settings sections, like 'Navigation' that will alert you to changes. Very important to look through these to make sure new things are set to your liking.

Best way to handle traffic is TACC.

Congrats on the car. #1 you shouldn't charge over 80% unless you are going on a long trip. #2 - Get a 240v charger, 120v is too slow. Have fun. Get a Tesla.

Yes, the 2024 is a great car. I have had older teslas like 2017 X, 2019 3P, 2023 YP and now 2024 3PH. It is a blast to drive, the old 3P was fun in some ways, but too bouncy in suspension and too much noise, also the fit&finish had a lot of issues. Didnt have any seroious mechanical issues with the Teslas though, having driven several hundred thousand km's in Teslas. The 2024 one I think I will keep for a longer while, my last record was the 2019 3P I sold at 4.5 years and 81500km, but the YP had to go at 37.000km (1.5 years). But it was working fine, but I just didnt like driving so up in the air and the 2024 3PH just was there and I felt I missed sitting in the smaller cars. The Y is great in many ways, I must say, very practical, but when you sit high you dont really feel engagement while driving.

Make sure to fully inspect the car and make sure there is no defects with it-- this includes panel gaps, rubber seals, stains, etc. These very thorough & specific things should've been checked during the "walk-around"! Regardless, enjoy the car!! I just got a 2021 Model 3 myself last month :D

Charging via the 120v outlet is going to put on 4-5 miles of range per hour. The 220v is the way to go. Porches are great but I will pass on all of the maintenance costs.

Your barely scratching the surface of the features available in all Teslas.. Your phone is your primary key and with the app you can do a ton of stuff while the key cards are just for backup in case you loose you phone or want to lend the car to a friend. Another cool feature of Tesla is sentry mode where it records from all sides of the car and when it detects someone snooping around it saves the footage and notifies you of the event. You can also see out the cars cameras with you phone no matter where you are and can send your voice out of the external builtin speaker in a Darth Vader voice..

The car price is actually 45k including tax and fees along with $7500 rebates. So the actual price is 52k

Another trick is that you have to always be looking forward so the autopilot works best. You can slightly by-pass the interruption of the autopilot(if you aren't looking straight) with sunglasses.

Enjoy the new Tesla. I got a 2024 Dual Motor Model 3 as well. Superb car. One pedal driving is the best. If you put the Tesla app on your phone you can enable it as a phone key so that both you and your gf no longer need to use the key card to open and drive the car You can have the app on both of your phones, your gf just authorises you as a phone key user from the Security & Drivers section of the app 👍🏻 I take it you’ve seen the interior ambient light strip as well which you can change colours, it goes around the interior of the car. Enjoy

She can share the phone key with you if you get the tesla app on your phone!

so if you have FSD v12.5 or newer, there shouldnt be a nag anymore. the interior camera will check your head and eyes position. if you look at your phone or away from the road, then it will send a nag to remind you to stay focus. if you keep your eyes on the road, you shouldn't need to touch the wheel anymore
