Thanks for the question! I will look into Prezi for Google Slides. In the meantime, this video may help you for getting additional themes in your Google Slides presentation: th-cam.com/video/j19R3Htyx3Q/w-d-xo.html
I need to compile a bunch of videos of my students to make a virtual talent show. What would you suggest? I was planning to use Google Slides. I know how to insert a video into the slides, but I am not sure if there is a way for it to auto transition from one student to the other, or if I will need to stay active with it and click through the presentation. I also need to know how to present it to all of the students and families on Google Classroom. Do I need to use another platform? Help!
Hi Lisa - that sounds like an awesome idea! I would suggest using a video editing program to make a video specifically for this. That way, you only have to link to 1 video in the Google Slides presentation. Do you have any video editing experience? I do run a video production company and we can likely help you with this project - if you'd like, please reach out: m.me/stephenkwiecinskibusiness Most of the free video editors available will not let you accomplish what you're trying to accomplish, but you can always download a trial of Adobe Premiere to make a "Brady Bunch" or "Zoom-style" video grid.
Hi! I would like to do a presentation with my classmates using this. Is it possible to present it to them in real time and simultaneously? Like when I swipe the slide on my device it will do the same on theirs? And how to invite them to watch the presentation. Thank you.
Mark, thanks for your patience. One way to accomplish this is through a live call using Skype, Facebook Live, or Google Hangouts. Use the screen sharing option, then run through your presentation like normal. You can additionally record your presentation at the same time using a tool like Screencast-o-Matic (15 minute limit though). I'm looking in to other options and will create a tutorial to explain further. Cheers.
I for the first time 'needing' to learn all this stuff. Being older, and a technophobe, I've avoided all these yrs. A lot I need to learn, google slides is the first. So I've watched a couple other ones before yours Stephen. I liked more how you explained and described everything. But it's just that it was too fast. I got lost midway through. Couldn't keep it, trying it while you were doing it. Otherwise the presentation was good. But then I'm assuming you're doing this more for those who know computers, just need to learn google slides, than for beginners.
Martin, I appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback, my friend. Apologies for the speed - seems to be a common complaint on this video in particular, something I need to work on. If you'd like a slower, more detailed explanation about anything covered here, just let me know your questions and I'd be happy to make a follow up video at a slower pace.
@@StephenKwiecinski No problem. Admittedly, I'm older in age, but beginner in computer stuff. Most of the tutorials from various people were too fast for me. There was one guy doing a tutorial on zoom. It was the only one I could follow. Don't take that the wrong way, I'm good at telling when someone is presenting well (that's more of my skills background, and you were, it was just the pace. It wasn't that this other guy (on the zoom tutorial) was slow, as much as clearly articulated, didn't feel rushed, evenly paced. Not any one question. 'I'm someone that learns by doing. Can't just listen/watch,and then go and try. I try to do it at same time(parallel) as a tutorial, but hard to when too fast. Otherwise was very descriptive
@@martinwoyzeck2634 That's great feedback, Martin - teachers on TH-cam do a disservice when we pace too quickly. I don't like leaving anyone behind. Let me know what apps or topics you'd like to learn about and I'll create a video for you to see if I can nail the pace. Cheers, pal!!
@@StephenKwiecinski Many who are experts in their field naturally do that. I've done that to, in my fields of expertise, till I had to ,at times, teach it. I had to start thinking in terms of those who don't know that stuff, and remember when I didn't. It does depend on who your audience is. If it's people who know generally know the stuff, and just need this added info, then one can zip through it. Same with lectures. If it's a group of other experts, and you're presenting something new to them, that's different from an audience who knows little about it. I think you did fine, it was made for those pretty computer savvy, just not knowing what you were offering. I guess as far as myself, I need the basics. I'm at a point where I need to start privately coaching in my areas. So for me, some good tutorials (which I know is so,so basic to those knowledgeable in it), is simply google slides, etc. for a private class, presentation ,etc., as well as using other material, images, etc. into a class. Cheers!
Make sure you ask your teacher for their specific instructions to turn in homework - every teacher has different rules. Hope that helps, thanks for asking the question! 💯
Google slides can be accessed by going to slides.google.com and by: (select all that apply) A) Clicking the Google apps icon in your Google account. B) creating a bookmark to slides.google.com. C) downloading Google slides to your desktop. D) adding the Google Slides extension to your web browser
@@gloriac.906 All of the options you listed will get you there - there may be an additional click or two (for example, when you click the Google apps icon in your Google account, you'll need to click Drive >> New >> Google Slides). The bookmark option should work as well. When downloading to your desktop, you'll actually just be putting a bookmark on your desktop and not actually downloading an app (no app exists outside of the website at slides.google.com). Also, there is no Google Slides extension that I'm aware. So to answer your question, A), B), and C) are great options. The quickest way to create a new slides presentation is by typing slides.new into your web browser. Give it a shot, let me know if this helps!
I am brand new and need to know this fluently in 2 weeks ughh...I need to create newsletters...I have no idea how or if there is a template or the first thing on how to and I am stressing! Can you offer any info? :(
Hi Jilly Bean - do you need to use Google Slides to create the newsletter? If not, I'd suggest Google Docs instead: th-cam.com/video/e771f9YYh4s/w-d-xo.html (this will get you started).
