  • How to Use Google Slides
Google Slide is a powerful presentation tool from Google to help you create slideshows and presentations.
It's part of Google Drive and you access it from drive.google.com
To create a new Google slide document, you can click the plus sign and choose Google slide.
With every new document, you should first name your document and then move it to the right folder inside of your Google Drive.
Next, you'll want to pick a theme. Themes make it a lot easier to give your slideshow professional looks and feel.
Once you finish creating your first slide, you'll need to add more slides using the plus sign. You can click the dropdown next to the plus sign to choose a style for your next slide. You can also use the slide menu to add a slide and to duplicate a slide.
You can easily customize each slide, add text, pictures, and change colors.
In this video, we will cover adding images, using the explore button, videos, charts.
Once you finish your slide, you can present your slideshow or share your slideshow.
Before presenting, make sure you order your slideshow in the correct order and hide any slides you don't want to show. You can also animations and transitions between your slides.
You can also publish it on the web.

Thanks for this video, really helpful and explains slides really well. Can you tell me when I go into my format tab my size and rotation is in cms and I want it in inches. I have gone into British English and changed some settings but when I go back it is the same. Any tips please would be greatly appreciated as I teach online.

Thank you for a great tutorial. I didn't have the small menu option at the bottom of the screen after you selected "present." I also didn't have the option to select "explore" at the bottom of the screen. I'm using the Chrome browser and I thought for certain everything would be identical, but it was not. I tried Firefox and still got the same results. I am using a laptop maybe the screen size is the problem. I tried it on my desktop with the same result.

    Question if you could help?
I've seen people make it so if you click a specific thing it will take you to a different slide? (Arrow/Text etc)

Thanks for the tutorial. I followed this tutorial on my laptop first, and I noticed the explore tab is missing, plus selecting present doesn't populate menu options at the bottom of the screen. I just tried on my desktop and am getting the same results. Any idea why this might be happening?

on the subject of videos in Slides, is there a way to only play segments of a TH-cam video, for example in a 10 minute video, I only want to play 1:36-3:12, 4:04-5:01, and 6:12-9:55?
also, can I change slides to add different text boxes and images on click? As in, during presentation, click to pull up a blank slide, click again to bring in one image, click again to bring in another, click again to bring in the final text box item?

Nice presentation on presentations. Recently I had a client request a video requiring modules of slides. Yes, I am also a video producer. With years of producing (30 plus) most of my productions are video/audio based. When clients asked for a slide I would use video editing software and create and export a series of titles- which has been a good solution. However, longer projects I would find a freelance (expensive) designer. Eding software can become cumbersome. Now I can keep the work in house. We are a 3 man shop (Camera, Editor and Sales, bigger project we hire freelancers. But my client wanted a lot of slides, the audio and other live video inserts presented no problem, but the slides had legal issues. Which meant more dollars going out the door. I searched TH-cam your videos popped up. They were quite helpful and informative. I am looking forward to your approach. This may save many sleepless production nights, and keep more of the profits in house, THANK YOU!

Question: Let's say that I make an interactive slideshow in Google that I want the students to be able to access and complete individually. Can they do this without joining Google classroom or is that a must?

    • @lorijones8593
      @lorijones8593 3 ปีที่แล้ว

If you post your interactive slideshow in google classroom, you can select the option to "make each student a copy" otherwise they can edit your original file. This cannot be done outside google classroom.
