Awesome as always! Enjoy all of your work Rod. Kitty per your usual self wonderful job of hosting! Welcome Kelly hope to see you in more feature videos!
Nice fish. Best day I ever had halibut fishing was in Shelter Pass, northeast of Port Hardy. Within 30 minutes I first caught a 101 pounder, then a 77 pounder. I returned to that same place many times and never caught another halibut, period. All I caught was a huge skate. I've never caught halibut of that size again. It was an amazing day.
I live right across from you on the USA side. Went out of John Wayne marina at dawn. Two and half hours later got a 44lb butt at the mouth of the Elwa river. 80ft. Spreader bar with a hootchi and some octopus.
I looked at a charter on the west side of the Island and they had a rule about how big a halibut you could keep. The biggest fish are females and they provided the future generations so I think that is the way to go.
Tha's not the rule set out by the charters, but fishery regulations which all anglers need to abide to actually. The maximum length which you can retain changes each year.

I have seen that before where people gaff the halibut on the side... They DON'T flop and fight as much
Halibut are the tastiest of fish
Very cool video and the girls are beautiful
What depth were you guys fishing?
200 - 300ft.
Whats the best way to cook halibet
Ian Cameron Cajun shake and bake in a shallow pan.
Good job girls. Feeling sore with your arms after fishing.
That's called halibut fishing.
38lbs is like large brown trout size here :p
Thats Pedder Bay
Yep!
I think kitty has some East coast accent, it is cute though.
lovely girl and nice fish
:)
if i didnt catch any halibut with them id settle for some two legged fish..!
Eh? Two legged fish?
ya. I think he means he'd prefer to not catch any fish , rather land a couple sexual harassment charges instead . way to go russ!
twin?:)
I will take you fishing for hali but in far better water. Down island is horrible for fast tide.
Cool.
