I'm from the Philippines and your thought is totally understandable. One thing I notice is the flag it's inverted the red color should be under the blue one you will only raise it with the red on top if we are at war but we are not on war so blue should be on the top.

People who say if you don't like it leave are pathetic. No I'm not a guest, I live here, have a family here, and do my part to support my local economy. Some things are absolute shit here, but I choose to stay because it's a net positive. Rejecting criticism outright on thecgrounds of national pride is immature and ignorant. Some are legitimately trying to improve their adopted home for locals and their own children. It's not a personal attack, it's an honest opinion of a situation and often comes with suggestions on how to improve things.

Foreign nationals living in the Philippines can live peacefully and lawfully. Avoid getting involved in politics and leave those political problems to the locals. If you have any concerns about someone in private or in authority unrightfully doing things against you, you can file a complaint in the proper office that will handle the case. Just remember, there are a lot of crooks and bad people around, and even locals are not spared.

However, I have an all-encompassing worldview that definitely speaks to the political realm (yes -- even here in the Philippines). That's sort of an aside, but as a result, my kids, ex, Filipino friends, and others hear exactly what I have to say in that regard. Interestingly, I know a foreigner who does get involved in politics here, but he does so by proxy. He has his reasons. 🤷‍♂️
