Well in Quebec we had to be creative in order to be able to go out and see our parents, I was sneaking through the parking garage at my parents, in order to visit them, I have the key so I could, my brother and sisters were not able to do so, just saying.

We had a similar thing in the UK. At the height of BLM there was a point where most media outlets realised they weren’t recognising the Asian and Middle Eastern communities (which they felt hurt their overarching message), hence the term ‘BAME’ communities was plastered everywhere all of a sudden. It took them about a week to realise white liberals didn’t care about the ‘AME’ part of it (those communities aren’t as politically expedient), and the term disappeared.
She literally turned a man to stone because he "deserved" it in that prime commercial. That's just like Captain Marvel assaulting that guy and stealing his bike because he told her that she should smile more.
Honestly, that entire scene in that movie just felt weird in general. Like yes some guys are assholes and might say that, but who the fuck walks to this strange lady with the weird ass outfit on and then tells her to smile more?

Yea, I just seen that Medusa commercial. She pulled down her sunglasses, to turn the guy at the bar, into stone, because he winked at her.. The voice over said, he was asking for it. Well now, they are blaming the victim there, he was asking for it. He wad just trying to get her attention, and let her know that he likes her. The commercial is promoting violence against men, who make a move towards a women, to see, if she likes him too.
Commercials like this just make men want to have nothing to do with women. Which should be seen as a disaster to all the lonely desperate TikTok women who are whining "Where have all the good men gone?" But they won't see a connection. They'll see a commercial like this and say, "You go girl!" thereby undermining themselves and their goals.

The Medusa commercial's wokeness lies in the fact that it is a perfect example of rewriting history to push an agenda. The mythology of Medusa is a person is turned to stone by looking at her, not Medusa looking at a person. The only way Perseus could kill her was to look at her reflection in order to chop off her head. He then used her head to turn enemies to stone by holding it in front of them while averting his eyes to prevent him from turning to stone.
It also could be an indictment of the state of public schools, assuming the ad agency had no clue as to the actual mythology of Medusa.
Whether it's meant to show an empowered women or just ignorant commercial writers, it idiotic because it completely misrepresents Medusa.

A few feel-good images and some sentimental music is all it takes to manipulate people these days. 1st video is a good example of that. I can tell that a commercial is going to have an agenda as soon as the music starts.

And a person on a cellphone for an Amazon ad is unbelievably insensitive after those Amazon employees were killed by a tornado in a distribution center after not being allowed to have their cell phones on them.

Also, they literally googled "how to be strong" over the image of Biles, who stepped down rather than persevere. I don't know her life, and maybe it was the best call in that situation for her, but it was not a great example of perseverance. Fortunately for her, instead of being critical, the press have worked hard to create positive spin for her decision, but when people emulate her, they won't get that in the everyday world.

The Medusa commercial is woke because a guy smiles at her and she turns him to stone for it. You would have heard the voiceover say he had it coming, even though he doesn't stalk her, physically attack her, or even say something rude to her.
That's some major projection on that last ad. We could open a multiplex theater with that level of projection... I mean, I watched a lot of things on here where someone tries to ask a leftist at a demonstration questions, and they shriek and scream things like "educate yourself!" or "open your eyes!", and then say they don't answer questions.
Funnily enough I was unpacking an Amazon package while watching that woke Amazon commercial, but it was a figure from an anime series called "Gurren Lagann", where the entire message is surprisingly anti-lockdown.

All these commercials make me glad I pay extra for commercial free viewing. I have always changed channels when commercials came on.
One of the new themes is mixed racial couples for everything. There just aren’t that many biracial families so having them overly represented is forced.

I'm biracial and I've noticed this. It's really weird. Even living my life I can tell you most of the time people date and marry within their race. Nothing wrong with that and not something really feasible for me to do. It just makes you wonder why push it so hard? When I ask people who are left leaning they say it's to shove it in "racists" faces. I guess it's the same thought pattern that contributes so many same sex couples in media.

I hadn't seen the Amazon Medusa commercial until now, but I saw the one with Cleopatra and it certainly is a stupid commercial if not exactly woke but it's close since the message is basically forget actual history and facts, pretend that buying and giving gifts is what fixes everything for everyone - people just need stuff from their government leader to be happy.

The Medusa commercial is “woke” because of the end. She willingly turned the guy who winked at her to stone AND the claim was “he was asking for it” which is pathetic. Do we need to make it more difficult for men to approach women?

The Kayak commercial was honestly embarrassing. They try to make critical thinkers look like these hyper exaggerated crazies.
I guess the marketing team was trying to reach the smallest viable audience, after all. And boy is it small. Because too many people have “opened their eyes.”

Ya, I agree. These companies are trying way to hard to only appeal to a certain percentage. But they can insult people all they want. It won't change what people already believe. No matter what side they are on.

I explained to a lefty girl at work the other day that wokeism in advertising is just the new capitalism - it's not about diversity or representation. She had to admit I was right, but it was sad to see that she'd never realized it before.
The irony about the commercial about Medusa was that Medusa was turned into a gorgon for boasting about her beauty to Aphrodite. The makers of the commercial obviously forgot that that was supposed to be a lesson not to be vain.
They trained us to expect immediate gratification. I was on my way out of the room by 10 seconds.
