Hi Cassia This is so exciting. I am on one of the gulf islands but used to live in Maple Ridge. Small world. Good luck and good for you trying to crochet. I do have some videos teaching double crochet if you need a bit more detailed instructions.
@@CarrowayCrochet Awesome! I lived on the island for many years and now my parents live on one of the gulf islands too. The hat came out perfectly, I’m making some for my parents now to wear during the coastal winter 🧶
Love this pattern. Made 4 my first day😝.I tweaked the pattern by using a pop color for row 13. Crocheted row 14 in the front loop only. This makes for a nice fold and little peek of color. I’m addicted.
@@CustomCroshae here are the instructions for Round 14: Ch 2, *FPDC into DC in row below, BPDC into next DC in row below* repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch2.. I hope this makes sense when you watch the tutorial at the same time. there is no front loop only. you will be crocheting into the front post which I show in the video. I hope this helps.
Thank you a lot for your pattern! I appreciate it so much. You are very good at explaining and teaching. Thank you for your work! Greetings from Germany!!
Hi there. Yes I would recommend you increase in this way:for Round 6: Ch 2, (2 DC in first stitch, then DC into each of the next 14 stitches), repeat between the brackets. join to top of ch2, (64 DC) Then proceed as the directions in the video. If you want to do an extra round to make it longer for the bigger head, then go to Round 14 and start the brim Rounds 15 -18 That should be big enough.
@@CarrowayCrochet thank you thank you so much for the break down cause I was gonna really confused about that part and come right back here lol I appreciate it
@@CarrowayCrochet thank you so much for the tutorial and this explanation. I do have a question, after the 2DC in first stitch and the 14 DC in the next stitch, what did you mean repeat between the brackets? I’m so sorry if this is a dumb question. Thank you so much for your help
I’m not sure what you mean. I’ve never heard of yarn described in mm. Only hooks. If you mean 4ply. That is too thin for this pattern as it uses worsted weight (4) yarn. Where are you because yarn is described differently in different countries. In England worsted weight (4) yarn is called arran. In Australia it is 10 ply. I hope this helps.
It’s all double crochet till the brim and still the brim is made with double crochet, but worked into the front post and then back post alternating. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood it. Thanks.
Does this pattern fits all measures? My boyfriend's head has a diametre of 58 cm (sorry for the dumb question but it is my first fisherman's beanie and second hat lol)
i wish it was easier to watch what her hands are doing. its a tutorial yet even slowed down i am struggling to see what she’s doing after the four minute mark. i even had to leave this tutorial to see an easier way to do the magic loop. what kind of tutorial makes you so confused that you need another tutorial?? now just have a circle. hopefully i can finish the hat after enough replays because this is a cute hat and i have some beautiful yarn for it :(
i’ve just started crocheting too, i would suggest learning how to do a double crochet and practise that till you get it :) after that the tutorial is easier to understand!! that’s what i did and i managed to just finish mine
HI there. I am so sorry you found this to be too fast for you. I do have a tutorial on how to do the double crochet that might help you as once you learn it then the video will make more sense as all I am doing is double crochet stitches. th-cam.com/video/dgkaZs7MJgQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MBintjBhEa6Hj1zz I hope this helps you. I also do have a magic circle tutorial. Unfortunately this video did not teach how to make a magic circle as many people find it repetitive if I teach all the basics in each tutorial. It is hard to make each tutorial in such a way that everyone's needs are met. I am doing the double crochet while making this hat. I hope once you get to practice double crochet stitches that this hat works out for you. So many people have found it helpful. I do appreciate you give me your feedback. Thank you
Making this hat for my partner!! One of my first projects, he’s so excited about it. Also hi from Vancouver! 🤍

Thank you. I’m happy to hear that.
Only my third chrochet project. But with your instructions I felt very confident I could do it. I love the pattern, thanks!
That’s so fantastic. Thank you
Love this pattern and the people I’ve made it for (all men) love it. It suits everyone. Thanks for a great pattern ❤
Thank you Kathryn. This is so great to hear. I appreciate the great feedback. ❤️

So for the 14 row did u do dc Flo? Then did the brim

Great pattern- you are such a good teacher I am going to do one right now God permit! Thank you 😊
Thank you so much Lilian.
making this right now :)
That’s awesome. I hope you’re enjoying it. ❤
Can I use 4mm yarn? This pattern is great. And you are a ray of sunshine.

Is it a single crochet till row 13 or is it a single double till 13

Hi does it matter how you do the brim?
Sorry but I don’t quite understand the problem. I don’t know what you mean about the Brynn. So sorry.
Nvm. I meant the ribbing for the hat. The front post and back post, but I like the ribbing you did. It makes it look more cooler
thank you!
❤️🧶

Are you a beginner? I would practice a bit before you start making hats and doing dcs and all that
