Two weeks ago I couldn't tell the difference between crochet and knitting and never touched a hook in my life. Thanks to a few videos, I made a cool beanie! Your video has easily been the most understandable video I've seen so far! Thank you for this!
@@CherilynQCan you crochet baby clothes or something I want to crochet but I don't know how..I find your video is very understandable than other video so I want to learn from you.
70yrs old man and just found your great videos about making a beanie..they laughed at me at the shop when I asked about crochet and the gear needed, by what the hell...make good gifts for the kids, made by dad or grandad

I made big mistakes in my beanie. Never started over. I accidentally cut the string at the wrong time. Didn't start over. This took me about two full days to make- and now I have a weird-looking, square shaped hat. I have never loved a hat so much in my life.
Actually, I LOVE this tutorial. It is really understandable and very easy. I just started learning crochet and I made simple things like 1-inch long flowers and very simple hearts but I NEVER thought I could make a HAT!?! In my opinion, I think this tutorial was really helpful and now I’m done with my hat- it came out FANTASTIC and I am wearing it now. Special thanks to the maker of this video. Thanks again!

I decided to try and make this beanie and man am I happy with how it turned out! It's so cute and looks just how I wanted. I'm going to crochet some cat ears to put on it and it will be perfect! ❤ Thanks for this awsome tutorial!

i was able to make my first ever crochet project thanks to your video. i've tried for years to crochet and thought i was just bad at it. turns out, i just needed the right teacher 🤍
I’ve been knitting and crocheting for 38+ years, I’m 45 , and your is the one of the best patterns for those who are just beginning. Thank you . Great job. ❤
You can use small pieces of yarn as stitch markers you just thread a different colour of yarn through where the stitch markers will go. Do you have a ruler 📏 for measuring? I’m sure you could pick up a tape measure for just a couple of £. Hope this helps. Things like scissors and a darning needle are instruments that you will use almost every time you crochet so it might be helpful if you’re able to lay your hands on this two things, they aren’t expensive by any means. You got this 😊
YALL, I was trying to pinch off the top of the beanie and I pulled a little too hard and I BROKE THE YARN IT LITERALLY SNAPPED. Its fine I fixed it but I had a whole mini heart attack! 😅😅
THANK YOU!! I started crocheting 3 days ago and this was my very first project after learning the basics, this video was SO easy to follow and felt so reassuring with how calmly and clearly you explain everything. Seriously so helpful. The result was so good, I still can't believe I did that (thanks to your fantastic tutorial). I will recommend this to anyone who is starting crochet and looking for a good beginner tutorial 💖💖💖
I am very much a beginner when it comes to crotchet, and I can't wait to try this beanie. I can knit anything from Aran's to Icelandic cardigans and sweaters easily now I plan to master the art of crotchet. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Thank you for this video tutorial. I was just looking for a basic hat that would be fairly quick. I've been crocheting for 11 years, but I realized early on that you never stop learning.
This was extremely helpful and very well taught!!! I feel a lot of crochet tutorials can be confusing but this was very simple and I have made a wonderful beanie ❤ Thank you!!!
Had to restart when I was almost done with the panel, but I finally finished! I have a great gift for my friend’s birthday. Thanks so much! Also tip for anyone on a budget, Bobby pins work well as stitch markers and less well but still okay to thread it through at the end!
Everytime i make something really cool, it would take 2-3 days to finish and im also starting a business by your crocbeting advice im really thankful it looks pretty❤
I'm a complete beginner, I've always wanted to know how to crochet and I was finally brave enough to try it. I've tried simple things like flowers, hearts, but a beanie? It sounded too advanced, but thanks to your video I finished my first beanie yesterday. A bit clunky and too big :D, but I managed it and am going to make another one, hopefully better. I'm really happy and thanks for this tutorial and your work. You are the best!
I just finished this, just in time for valentine's day for my husband. He loved it! This tutorial was perfect, I only used one yarn and took me 2 days 😊
I just finished my first ever crochet project... This beanie... My rows were too short because of tension, so in the end I had to crochet horizontally on top... By the time I reached 90% of it, yarn started to get over... And you know, at that point you don't wanna buy the same yarn again... So I fixer uppered the top of it... Alternate slip stitched it together (yarn got over along the middle still... Thankfully had taken a long tail in the beginning, used that to slip stitch the rest)... I somehow made it work and I couldn't be more proud ☺... It's soooo pretty ❤
I have a hard time with finger coordination and finding rhythm so learning to crochet has always been daunting but your videos have helped so much! You are so easy to follow along with.
Okay that's my first work that doesn't turn crappy! Thank you very much for your amazing tutorial ❤ Ps ; for the ones who were lost like me, 12 inches is 30,5 centimeters
I havnet finished yet, but i worked on this project for a couple hours today at most... and your instructions were so straight forward. This is my first ever crochet project and i'm not intimidated by it! Made a lot of mistakes with tension, but i'm getting into the rhythm for sure.
I started croteching 2 weeks ago and could only make rings, bracelets, all those simple things, no videos helped me on youtube for croteching, until i found this one!! Love the work! Keep it up!!
This project took me a few months, as I can’t crochet daily as my fingers start to hurt, but I finally completed mine yesterday. I will say, this tutorial made me feel self conscious about the size of my head, I had to make 80 rows!! Either way I love the way my first beanie came out, but knowing myself I know I’m going to eventually make another as there were sections of my rows where I accidentally added too much or not enough, so it’s a little wonky, but I had so much fun!! Thank you for the tutorial!!❤️😁
Your tutorial was very understandable and more informative than most other beanie videos. You took your time to explain the process and were very clear and concise. Thank you for the new way to make a beanie for my friends and family. ❤
This was so helpful! I just finished a beanie for my friend. After almost a week of trial and error, and while working with quite the thick yarn(not chunky but very fluffy) which made it impossible to see the right loops its done and im really happy with how it turned out. Great practice on how to control how tought the yarn is.
As someone new to crochet - thank you for the reminders about stitch markers for the rows!! I can do hats in the round , but the 2 times I’ve tried a hat horizontally like this ( and also my first blanket) I have dropped several stitches … leading to a triangle shape and it’s pretty devastating losing hours and hours of work.
In three weeks, I went from someone that had never crocheted, to someone that had crocheted a beanie! If your reading this, you can do it! The first week is is three times as hard as the last week. ty Cherilyn!
Yayy! I just finished it! My hand is sore from pulling it at the end lol but ive been working on this for a couple months now off and on as a gift for my husband. He loves it!
I made 6 of these as gifts. Thank you for the best tutorial ever. Now im making scarves to match this pattern. I just had to make a long chain..... about 60 inches and going from there. They are coming out great. Thanks again. Blessings
I Think your my new best friend…I have been crocheting for a little over a year and have never seen anyone saying that you should do the first row in the back of the chain…I have always struggled because I hated the uneven first and last row, but I also hated doing the chainless foundation lol…This is magical thank u

This tutorial is one of the best tutorials to use to make a beanie hat! The first time I did this I accidentally mistaken 12 inches as 12 stitches… so I made it a little short. But it’s alright bc the second time it was perfect (well as perfect as perfect can be)
I am only 12 years old and my mom has crocheted since she was 12 also so she tried to teach me a year ago and I would get very frustrated and I quit a couple weeks ago. I found my crochet hooks in my yard and I started messing around with it. Your tutorial really helped me make my first ever hat items still working on it. Thank you.❤

Grandmother taught me the absolute basics and now I'm trying to increase my project library, found your channel by TH-cam recommendation. I'm so glad it did...some tutorials go too fast for me and yours is wonderfully paced. I need to get more supplies but I am ready to start making some beanies for holiday presents. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what other projects I can make!
This is my first attempt at a hat, and your tutorial is super straight forward and makes me feel confident that I should have no problem making one too! Might get fancy and attach a pom pom to the top, who knows? Can't wait to learn this so I can have another holiday gift option under my belt
This was an amazing informative video! I made my first beanie after less than a day because of these instructions! Thank you kindly for showing us how to do it!
This is really nice. I really need new hobbies, and crocheting seems fun, even if it looks tedious at times. Making your own seems more satisfying rather than buying one from the store. Cheers.
I like this video, despite using the wrong numerical system it is very clear and straight forward. I will goggle the correct metric system and give it a go, I already know that stitch as I make often double coloured scarf with that and they come out very nice. Thank you so much ❤
Love this video! I just started learning to crochet and you make it so easy to understand and I can actually SEE what you’re doing step by step. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
This was the MOST helpful tutorial I’ve seen s9 far. As a beginner all of the other tutorials were either rlly confusing or rlly unclear. I finished this in only one day and I’m in love with the result. Tysm!! Ur awesome ❤❤
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH IT HELPED ME I STARTED TODAY AND OH MY GOSH U R ABSOLUTELY GREAT AT TUTORIALS I JUST DID ONE CROCHET STICH I KNOW ITS NOT ENOUGH BUT I WAS SO PROUD KEEP MAKING THESE TUTORIALS❤
Thank you for the video tutorial!!! I made it in a day was super easy to make.... I loved it. I made it for my dad and he loved it. I adjusted the number of chains as he wanted a smaller one but it all came out well!!! Thank you!!! 😍😍😍
Mine didn't come out as perfect as yours, but it looks so perfect i don't know what to with myself....thank you for the step by step tutorial easy to follow.
Thank you for giving a tutorial which allows it to be personally adjusted according to yarn type and tension. I find it so frustrating when I use a lighter weight yarn to the one used in a video, and all I have to go off of is the number of chains etc. The measurement is much easier. Thank you!
my stepdad is about to start chemotherapy so i want to make him some hats - all i can currently do is a granny square so this is very helpful. thank you!!
I made the first with some leftover yarn but accidentally made it too big. So now I'm looking for someone with an exceptionally large head 😂. The pattern is very simple and easy so now I wil make one for myself in a pretty yarn. Thank you for uploading this.
Love this hat! I make stuff and donate hats and mittens and donate them to school rooms. The teachers always see children that come to school with no mittens or a hat. I live in upper Wisconsin. There is always a need
It took me about 4 days to complete this beanie! I’ll probably make another one bc it wasn’t perfect the first time but it was so much fun! Thank you! 💖
@@briana-berryThink I'm on day 2 of doing it a couple hours a day and I'm at row 34, I have no idea if that's considered slow but it sure feels like it :D

Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! As s total beginner I managed to do it :) One note, if you want to take it: I think it might be a little easier to see the stitches and where exactly to insert the hook, if you'd use yarn in a more intense color :) Thank you ❤
Best crochet turotial ive seen by far. The instructions are clear and the camerawork is great, showing clearly each stitch and movement slowly. So far ive made a scarf, mittens, and now working on this hat! Looking forward to watching more tutorials! ❤️
Great and easy tutorial to follow. This is my second project my first was simply a headband. You did great explaining everything and I currently feel like a pro working on this lol :) can’t wait to see the outcome!
I’m so glad I found your channel!❤ I’m a beginner. The speed of the tutorial in both your verbal directions and hand movements making the stitches is absolutely fantastic for beginners. Then you add the close up camera angle that illuminates any of the guessing I have used when trying to follow other people’s videos. I couldn’t see the specifics of the stitches to know for sure if I had the correct thread of the stitch or not 🙁. I’m going to subscribe to your channel today! I’m so looking forward to crocheting this hat and future projects with you! Thanks for sharing!🥰
I absolutely love this tutorial! It is the easiest that I have ever followed and I made one already for my daughter. Now I am making one for my son’s girlfriend. I am a newbie (meaning I do not have a lot of experience crocheting) and it took me about a day working off and on to complete it. *Could have taken much less- like a few hours had I worked continuously.* This is a fun project that I think anyone could do who is learning. Thank you @CherilynQ for this simple and very cute tutorial! I will make it again! I wish I could share pictures here. I am going to see if I can find you on IG and post this to you. I love the yarn you used and found some similar. 🫶🏽

Thank you so much !! I just finished my very first crochet project and i'm so proud and happy !
Thank you!! I hope your hat turns out great! If you do end up needing a pompom, I have a tutorial for it on my channel too.
This was an amazing informative video! I made my first beanie after less than a day because of these instructions! Thank you kindly for showing us how to do it!
Yay! I'm glad you like it!!
This is really nice. I really need new hobbies, and crocheting seems fun, even if it looks tedious at times. Making your own seems more satisfying rather than buying one from the store. Cheers.
I just made my first beanie following your video! From a beginner, this was easy to follow and understand. Thank you so much! ❤
You're so welcome! I'm so glad you found it easy 🥰
You're welcome! I'm so glad you found it so easy!! 🤗
This was the MOST helpful tutorial I’ve seen s9 far. As a beginner all of the other tutorials were either rlly confusing or rlly unclear. I finished this in only one day and I’m in love with the result. Tysm!! Ur awesome ❤❤
Thank you so much! 🥰
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH IT HELPED ME I STARTED TODAY AND OH MY GOSH U R ABSOLUTELY GREAT AT TUTORIALS I JUST DID ONE CROCHET STICH I KNOW ITS NOT ENOUGH BUT I WAS SO PROUD KEEP MAKING THESE TUTORIALS❤
Proud of you! and thanks for the encouragement! 🥰
@@CherilynQ NEVER STOP ❤️
Just finished this wonderful project, I love it soo much, my whole family is happy that I did a great work all thanks to you💞
Ohh I’m so happy to hear this! Glad to help!
Thank you so much for this! Every other beanie pattern had circles and increase/ decrease... so hard to follow. This is the best!!!
You are so welcome! and yeah, this way is really easy 🥰
This is the best video I have ever seen on how to make this type of beanie. Thank you!
Aww thank you so much!!
Thank you for the video tutorial!!! I made it in a day was super easy to make.... I loved it. I made it for my dad and he loved it. I adjusted the number of chains as he wanted a smaller one but it all came out well!!! Thank you!!! 😍😍😍
You are so welcome! 🥰
I just love that so many age demographics are represented in these comments. Im so glad so many of us can learn together.
Mine didn't come out as perfect as yours, but it looks so perfect i don't know what to with myself....thank you for the step by step tutorial easy to follow.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for giving a tutorial which allows it to be personally adjusted according to yarn type and tension. I find it so frustrating when I use a lighter weight yarn to the one used in a video, and all I have to go off of is the number of chains etc. The measurement is much easier. Thank you!
my stepdad is about to start chemotherapy so i want to make him some hats - all i can currently do is a granny square so this is very helpful. thank you!!
You're welcome! That's very sweet of you to do that. Sending love to you and your stepdad! 🤍🤍🤍Hope he gets well soon!!!
I made the first with some leftover yarn but accidentally made it too big. So now I'm looking for someone with an exceptionally large head 😂. The pattern is very simple and easy so now I wil make one for myself in a pretty yarn. Thank you for uploading this.
You're welcome! I'm sorry it didn't turn out right the first time. Second time is the charm!
Thank you! 💖
Currently on day 3 of working on these rows. Hoping to be finished by my 4th also lol!
@@briana-berryThink I'm on day 2 of doing it a couple hours a day and I'm at row 34, I have no idea if that's considered slow but it sure feels like it :D
@@Itransform105 lol check back in when youre done!
Thank you for sharing this tips. Now I got a beautiful beanie hat for winter and can’t express my feeling about it. Thank you again for your efforts.❤
You are so welcome!
I just completed this beanie and I am very happy with it. Thank you.
Love this easy pattern. So easy but it looks really great. I attach leather tags like stores, Handmade with love. Makes a beautiful gift.❤😊
i loved this bro, im wearing mine while I'm writing this, such a fun little thing to keep my hands busy while I'm watching videos and movies and whatnot.
Great tutorial thank you, I have never seen anyone turn the beanie inside out 👍..
Learn something new today...Great tip

So happy for you! 🥰
It’s been a week l have been trying to follow a pattern but it didn’t make sense coz it looked like l was making a little mat until l came across your tutorial and l watched it to the end, well taught and simple to follow 🥳
Thank you! Really glad I could help 🥹❤️
Thank you so much I just finished my baby's beanie and she's soooo excited 😍😍😍
So glad to hear! 🥰
Thanks you for making such a detailed easy to follow video! I just finished my first beanie ever and I love it!
Yay! You're so welcome! 🥰
Just made my first crochet item following your video. Thank you! It's so cute.
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! As s total beginner I managed to do it :)
One note, if you want to take it: I think it might be a little easier to see the stitches and where exactly to insert the hook, if you'd use yarn in a more intense color :)
Thank you ❤
Best crochet turotial ive seen by far. The instructions are clear and the camerawork is great, showing clearly each stitch and movement slowly. So far ive made a scarf, mittens, and now working on this hat! Looking forward to watching more tutorials! ❤️
Thanks so much 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed it!
It took me about 3 days to make but I just made one and it's so cute! I chose a cute spring purple in acrylic and I'm obsessed!
May God bless you and your family 🙏 thanks for this amazing video it's the simplest video I've ever seen😂❤❤❤❤❤
And I can't believe you are using the same method as the method to make a bag😮
Thank you so much! 🥰
Today I completed my first Bennie....will come again when I make another❤
just finished a hat. so east and cute! thanks for the wonderful tutorial!
How many row?
Great and easy tutorial to follow. This is my second project my first was simply a headband. You did great explaining everything and I currently feel like a pro working on this lol :) can’t wait to see the outcome!
Thank you!! 🥰
Thank you so much! I'm really glad the close-up helped! Hope your hat turns out amazing! 🥰💕
Hii! Thank you so much! I'd love to see your makes! My ig is cherilyncrochet 🥰🥰
Thank you so much! Learning from scratch & feel like with your instructions being so clear, I can try & take this on! :) Handy as I love a beanie but have a big head - so can now make them to fit me instead of buying ones too small!
Thank you for that video. Because of you, I will be making beanies to send to North Carolina. Keep up the great videos!
I will! Thanks for the encouragement!
