    First! Paul Jeffries makes really wonderful engine builds. That "YES" when it was running. I know that feeling all too well. Congrats!

    I hear you loud & clear in regards to how new Mini parts are - original / NOS is the best to use.
    Congrats on a very nice job/car :)

    We had that coil issue on an engine we were checking before we pulled it out. The original was knackered but so was the new one.....wish we'd had Paul that day cos we chased our tails for hours trying to figure it out. A mate had an electrical checker device, checked both, knackered, got another coil and first turn of the key it ran......days like that stick in your head 😂. Not be long before the van is back on the road.

    • @classicminidetails8887
      @classicminidetails8887  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What made it worse was when we tested the coil iy actually registered it had power 🤔 hoping to have it on the road by end of August

    • @graemew7001
      @graemew7001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@classicminidetails8887 It was amazing to hear both of the engines running. Ours hadn't ran for maybe 10 years so we wanted to see if it did so we could decide whether to go with that or get another. You should have heard the whoops when it sprung into life 😂. End of August is doable, good luck mate 👍🏻

    It's not just Mini parts, a lot of "New" parts not up to par with what they should be,take for example my 98 Subaru,"New" water pump seal let go with about1000 miles,then only a couple hundred miles later the thermostat seizes up,that was also a "New"thermostat".

    Man I was on pins and needles with your first start up. Nothing more annoying than the mini stuff these days being shite...absolute shite. That coil should not have been defective. Can’t wait to see your first shake down...have a friend follow you for your first breakdown as well, lol!
