This is a beautiful elegant yacht, what I call an "in between". That is, its behaviour and character lies in between the giant fast planing uncomfortable ones that shudder all your bones, and the slow displacement type with a very comfortable ride where the hull comes to an agreeable peace treaty with any oncoming wave that tries to bully it into a fight! I like the hull, and this is what I call a sinusoidal truncated hull, where the bow penetration/pearcing is good, and the wave is distributed around and under the hull to behave as a semi-planing craft where all movements are kind to the human bone structure by letting the displacement part stay in the water while the planing part is only about 50 % Its natural limiting speed is clearly shown at 2.03, where the hull is sinking in the wave of its own making. The bow wave is not too high, while the peak of the rear wave is about six metres behind the transom, At that instant, the hull must have sunk about half a meter as the water disappeared from the full midsection such that the wave resistance at that speed is high and to push it uphill any harder means trouble. The balance between the front immersion and the rear suction down due to a moderate wide transom is excellent as with the sails driving hard downwind, the hull is remaining perfectly horizontal, I shall not talk about the finishing as I am an engineer! But it is obvious that I am appreciating all the arts and comforts too. Congratulations to all those who had anything to do with designing, building and owning this yacht. May you enjoy it and give pleasure to onlookers like me many thousands of miles away and still appreciating the spectacle at my own home, My Spirit is with you. If only I was any younger!
Muiltihulls are toys unless you can afford stuff like an AC72 or other proper cat. Monohulls have a hull speed of 1.3 x square root of Waterline length. Doesn't mean that's where they stop. That's simply the speed at which they enter semi-displacement, and start to plane. Open 70's do 35kts+. I've personally done 19kts on a Shipman 67, without pushing it hard. These are fully carbon boats, with carbon standing rigging. Serious machines, capable of planing.
We are soon going into 2019 and still this looks like a modern sailboat. The coach roof everyone is talking about today. And that looks like a "park ave" boom. And it's in steel !! Just a real blue water sailboat/class A
I dont understand one thing. The company spends thousands of dollars making this video and then they upload it in 480p, coud you not spend an extra $100.00 and make it hi-def? Nice boat btw.
+Peter Jarmuda, I will have to check, as it is a while since my last youtube upload, but my understanding is that there is a default resolution which videos are processed....unless you go into the settings and specify something different. Some newbe uploaders may not be aware of this.
my friend got a 32 foot multihull that maxes out at 30kts, and at cruising speed you can leave your coffee cup on the table without it falling over, not to bad eh lol
4:01: AAAAND THERE she SPINS out of control at a puff of a gale. And look at the always wet foredeck, and the broad open low cockpit. Somebody build a beautiful boat for good weather and sunny days. (And whoever chose THAt colour for that spinnaker: WHY in good heavens do you have to do your coming out by hoisting a sail?)
What a boat! I hate the aft helms, but it's so beautiful I will forgive that. Pity the company folded. MUCH more interesting design than Baltic or Nautor.
A B2 knockdown would have the boat rolling upside down and remaining there. A B1 knockdown is a violent uncontrollable knockdown to where the mast hits the water and the keel then brings her back up. A B2 would be very difficult in this boat unless she lost her keel. Keel boats rarely experience any kind of knockdown because they spill so much wind as they heel. This boat is designed to minimize the heel and does not get a heavy helm in a hard heel because of the twin rudders.
IT IS VERY RARE FOR A KEELBOAT TO ROLL OVER, at worst you get a B2 knockdown where your mast hits the water but by then you have no wind in the sails, and the weight of the keel brings her back up, er unless the keel snaps off------
+dkchen Its all electric, electric mast reefing & furling, thrusters for side control etc etc. Alright til it goes bad out at sea lol but you could motor anywhere with this thing without ever pulling a sail out.
nebraskatpp I forgot to mention..... even though I have Nebraska in my username .... my 28 years of professional boating/racing was mostly on the blue water.
appear to have a weakness on a head on sea..............a large wave would run over the cabin as there appears little to deflect it..............still a beautiful boat
physics will or should not let it, as it keels over more to the side it loses the full energy to take it over. in theory though if a massive gust, plus wave plus weight balance it could roll over.
anybody got 10-20 million dollars they don't know what to do with .I'll be your huckleberry! It looks like one of the engineers from Hylas has a new job
such a beauty and no HD video, that's a shame.

The Shipman 80 is a beautiful yacht. Well thought out design, and a delight to the eye.
Beautiful work of nautical art. Without question one of best and most impressionable of video advertising campaigns.
One of the prettiest sailboats I've ever seen!
That is the closest thing to perfection on this Earth
I don't care what anyone thinks, the perfect boat! period.......!
+Daniel Selby You could go anywhere in the world in this in comfort.
But finding somewhere that can take a 80ft yacht would be a challange. Way beyond the limits of most marinas.
+Andrew Polson ... So what length do you suggest, please?
+Dil per-ree 67
Daniel Selby hat do you think about the Jeaneau 67 ?
Just one of the things in the world that I could never have.. Still beautiful, dreaming about it
i watched this clip more than 10 times...makes me relaxed and motivated.
Good Lordy Lord.... How many Millions am I drooling over here ? I really do need to learn how to sail someday very soon.
Words alone can't describe the beauty of this vessel. I would love to captain a vessel of this magnitude.

Style and grace.... I watch this video to relax.

+Peter Jarmuda , youtube auto plays at preset resolutions unless you specify differently.
Setright
I know that, and had you checked, you would see that the highest resolution you can select is 480 p

@@SuperSetright not made by the company. They dont even have a website
She is such a beautiful yacht! Truly amazing because of it biend single handed! Alot of pitch but so gorgeous!
One of the yacht videos I've ever seen.
I'm surprised how much she pitches in even small seas. Still, looks lovely.
Was the Editor paid by the cut?
As Mel Brooks said...................Its good to be the king!
You can certainly - see shipmanyachtcharters, boat available for charter is, among others, shipman 80 "Ivanka"
This isn't a car chase or some kind of fight scene. Please let us see the boat in all it's glory in lingering shots from both off and ON the boat.
A boat built for looks and speed. Not for cruising. She's absolutely gorgeous though.
my friend got a 32 foot multihull that maxes out at 30kts, and at cruising speed you can leave your coffee cup on the table without it falling over, not to bad eh lol
i LIKE THE STRING QUARTET. wHO PERFORMED?
beautiful whats this cost i know if you have to ask you cant afford it
Creepy music. Sounds like a horror movie. Beautiful boat.
What a beautiful interior.
Awesome dream fodder for tonights sleep! But if I had 2.8mil to spare, I don't think I could walk by her twice without taking her home!

nah m8 you got it all wrong

One very beautiful yacht

It is a made video a lot well!! Attractive presentation. ..bella boat!!

the definition of freedom... .. if you has one extra please send it to me .......
i was going to buy two then i saw the promo vid was not in HD ....
Me too ;-)
A beauty.......a very expensive beauty....I retired fm the CG many moons ago....god w/motor boats but have no clue as how to sail....OK......HOW MUCH?
let somebody tell me now that money ain't give you happines, I envy for the owner
Can it handle rough seas ? Can she go around the world ? I have my doubts . I think this is a show and no go !
Am I getting this right? They are saying that the boat can be single-handed? Like I, by myself, could sail this boat?
dkchen yes
Byron Croft Yeah I guess if you are doing a commercial about a boat you are selling you can pretty much claim whatever you want almost.
+dkchen If u now what to do on the boat u can sail it alone. full automatic.
+dkchen
I can sail any of this simple sloop boats alone. But unfortunately nowadays my skills are useless
+dkchen Its all electric, electric mast reefing & furling, thrusters for side control etc etc. Alright til it goes bad out at sea lol but you could motor anywhere with this thing without ever pulling a sail out.
can i ask a stupid question? Just how far can the boat get up on its side before it goes over into the water? That is what scares me about sailing
Stunning! Some people are very privileged indeed.
absolutely stunning.
I assume ,with a galley like that [ along with your budget ] that your dinners are catered
I was thinking just that, when they had the spinnaker out there was barely a foot and a half of the bow above the waves. Very sleek ship tho.
so beautiful yachts.....
This is mine!
:-D
nebraskatpp I forgot to mention..... even though I have Nebraska in my username .... my 28 years of professional boating/racing was mostly on the blue water.
Can you provide the music credits for this video ? Thank You
DAMN that's nice. love the pink.
...and even the music. somebody know the music? Thanks!
Exactly what I'm looking for. I'll just get my checkbook...
could someone please tell me where the servant's quarters are in this video :)
appear to have a weakness on a head on sea..............a large wave would run over the cabin as there appears little to deflect it..............still a beautiful boat
obviously not them monohulls max out at like 10-12 knots, multihulls is the way to go
Stunning Boat
This is Boatporn & I like it;)
Too many fast cutaway shots. Let us see the f**king boat.
physics will or should not let it, as it keels over more to the side it loses the full energy to take it over.
in theory though if a massive gust, plus wave plus weight balance it could roll over.
E a Jeanneau, Beneteau, Delta, Bordeaux, fast não são?
Imazing 🤩🤩😎
Very splending.
This is like ocean more away I'm coming.
could be, but not as fast as this beauty
what is under the whole galley floor? why plit level ?
Can it do 30 knots like the Gunboat?
There is nothing wrong with the bow, you are seeing a large swell mixed with small waves,
galley is too small for the cook to really cater for the guests.
Weird flow to the interior portion of this video.
She is Beautiful!!!
This is Beauty
Как КРАСИВО!!!
this video made my wine taste better.
Great way to spend $5 million!
Great music
wait, let me just catch my breath....wow is right....
@nastayo A good measure for most luxury yachts (mono hulls) is 1 million for each 10'. I would estimate this to cost around 8 million US.
Bow looks to low under sail the wash in heavy seas would bring it to a crawl
I like the comments,(well most of them anyway), better than the video.
What song is this?
I was gonna buy one, but it doesn't even come with an anchor.
How in the world does someone who can afford one, have the time to sail it?
What's the base price?
You can't rent a yacht like this!
If it flies, floats or f****, never buy, always rent!
mooring fee?
Western Baltic Sea, around 20k € / Year for 80 ft
Ain't there too much glass?
How much? ))
Like to do a sea trial, whom can i contact ?
How Fast?
how much ? 2 mil $ ?
un sogno ad occhi aperti..
I'll take two please.
anybody got 10-20 million dollars they don't know what to do with .I'll be your huckleberry! It looks like one of the engineers from Hylas has a new job
a great one
2:16 - 4:00 music title?
engine, watermaker, generator
Bow is too fine, needs more reserve buoyancy and and flare forward.
amazing
Not for me, but hey to each their own...enjoy.
