Through tons of research I finally found the correct general lee color = TNT rocket orange ! it was an orange used on transport trucks over in Europe I believe the UK
I had a 69 Dodge Charger once it was Factory Orange 318 car with air conditioning paid $50 for it there was no motor no transmission back in like 1989 wish I would have kept that one

Mark should have included in the directions of "Building a 440" that clearances need to be measured, and blasting media needs to be blown out of the block (recalling a 340 that didn't) so it does not destroy the motor. (and Mark won't have to say someone sabotaged the motor).

Idk if it matters but with every head I do whether it's a diesel or gasser I do the torque settings in 3 step increments instead of jumping straight to the max torque.. with the cummins after final torque you turn all of them 90° but I double check them after a heat cycle as well. I don't like my engines blowing head gaskets haha ❤ but to each their own and your not pushing HP so its fine
John Schnider says (very recently) that the ORIGINAL General Lee was not an official color whatsoever. It was oranges from a variety of different paints available at the time on set mixed together!
But the original General Lee was Corvette flame red. That's true. The colors changed over time with all of the contorting and body work that the cars went through. That's why there isn't a definitive answer to what color it really was. Lol

Actually the found the FIRST General Lee the studio built for the pilot. They THOUGHT it was made x color or xx color BUT turns out when they researched the ORIGINAL PAINT COLOR, they had it computer read. And it was a bulk orange paint the props guys had plenty of and was then documented as the transport company paint color(or original multiple cans mixed together that's the closest the computer could match too. From the GL Numero Uno original part. So take it as it lays.
I am a GM preference on newer stuff. The muscle car days be tuff to be brand loyal. Nice Mopar, race ready Ford gm SS , yenko Baldwin motion. It doesn't seem possible f could by a car like they offered at the time. A key car that was track ready. Today's stuff is okay at the car show I am the promoter a hellcat, Shelby SS , Z06 barely get a look yet dull brown fairy she 500 with sideoiler 427 stick dog dish hub caps,vinyl bench gets lot of attention Even the old pick ups up to 72 get lot of photos verse new Roush, Callaway or Shelby. Style verse flashy decals or small emblem. A 110,000 Shelby truck verses 5000 when new 1969 . To each there own
Dear Mr. Wurmman, John Schneider said the original color of the General Lee was "mutt orange". A mixture of random oranges they had in the filming studio that they threw together, and painted the car right in the studio. John said it was not' Hemi orange. Somehow you will have to make a premier show featuring the accurate General Lee color. You could bring in a therapist and film your interaction with them as you deal with your anguish accepting the "mutt orange" color. I'm actually surprised that you could not smell the mutt toners in the paint. Therapy may help you deal with this.

The one thing that isnt great about that jump is that it was shot off a slingshot and 3 cars used in the scene unlike allan wyatt jrs big river jump in the series wich is a world record jump

It was actually TNT Express orange for the General Lee in the show. Hopefully that cleared that up.

on the general the only thing i would change is paint the flag and numbers on, like they did on the show. but other wise perfect.
