I have a question, what is google cast tv exactly? Does it make a non-smart tv smart? And how does it connect to the wifi? Through the cast or does the tv need to be connected to the wifi in order for it to work?

Google TV is a collection of apps, media, and content that makes navigation of your watching content easier. You can use google assistant with the remote and it will suggest you shows you can watch and also will serve as a regular google assistant to control things around your house. It makes your smart tv smart but you need to have it connected to the input in order to use it. It connects to wifi independently whether your tv can connect to wifi or not.

When setting up the google tv it asked if I wanted to pause the search history or pause the history & I didn’t click none of them I found on youtube how to unpause saved history but how do I unpause search history ? Where do I go ? Every time I search something then go back to the search it’s not there nothing I searched is there and it’s not showing me what I like looking at

l use the JustWatch app, screen mirror it to my TV, it shows all streaming apps in the one app, just the same as this Chromecast device www.justwatch.com

It probably went to the lock screen because the home screen app was updated and restarted.

TH-cam stats for viewport seems to show only 1080p even though it is set at 4k in the device setting.

Yeah, it's a little laggy at the beginning because it's doing all the personalization stuff in the background, but after that, it gets much better.
