I have this monitor. I got the brightness to stop fluctuating by turning off the energy saving mode in the general settings. Specially this is called "smart energy saving". This is a separate option from the DFC one.
What’s your personal opinion about this monitor? And usage? Does the automatic brightness adjustment work well?
@@SwissOliver The automatic brightness stuff sucks which is why I turned off both DFC and the other option. I have not tried keeping DFC on but turning off the other option to see if one is worse than the other.
I do not have the problem mentioned in this review where the monitor needs time to 'warm up'. It seems good to go the second it turns on.
The build quality of the monitor is good. Reluctant to call it excellent as I think only Apple makes truly excellent built things. Some would say overbuilt. But the plastics are premium feeling and the monitor stands are robust.
I do NOT like the gloss plastic on the sides of the monitor. Glossy plastics are dumb and no product should ever have it.
I like that the gamer aesthetic on this monitor is low-key and minimal. No overuse of weirdly shaped plastic to appeal to teenagers.
The colors are great, it works well in games. I'm not one to pixel peep this kind of stuff. Are the blacks as good as OLED? No not going to happen.
Is this monitor worth the price? For me yes because I have no plans to upgrade this monitor in the next 6 years. I think this monitor is an excellent example of peak IPS technology. The end of the road, if you will. I'm buying into the greatest this tech has to offer and will stay here for as long as possible. Waiting out and bidding my time until OLED-QD and Mini and Micro LED become affordable and useable in a desktop scenario.
@@adventuresinbytes thx Robert. Do you have have productivity and gaming Workflows with this monitor?
@@adventuresinbytes I also do not have this "warm up" period on my sample. This sounds like a manufacturing defect.
@@kyledoesntgetit5602 or maybe just the power setting?
Thank you for this review. I was very excited for this monitor and still am and your review sold me on it. Great job!
Thanks for showing the side by side with VA and IPS. I love a uniform panel. I wish more reviewers would show this.
I have just bought mine a few days ago. This review helped me. Thanks.
The quality of these videos is amazing, keep it up man
Hi! Got one of these last week. Amazing display. With regards to the auto-dimming / non-DFC related issue, was happening with me too. To fix, you just have to go into Settings > General > SMART ENERGY SAVING and set it to 'Off'. 👍🏽
I prefer the 260hz version 32gq850 1440p. I have 32 inch 144hz LG but the old one 32gk650f
I have that setting off and when I’m a game and the screen gets bright white I can see the screen change and get warm
Very comprehensive Review . Please Can you do comparison video Titled "4k 27 inch vs 4k 32 inch" I think you have both the LG , LG 32GQ950-B and LG27GP950B .
Thank you for a good review, and especially for comparing the monitor to its rivals!
Minor correction--the 32GQ950 does come with full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports.
I was about to say. There’s no way this didn’t come with a 2.1 HDMI port
I have this monitor. It is simply the best monitor I have ever had. I do not have the brightness flicker, but I disabled Energy saving. DFC is off. The color accuracy on this monitor is simply fantastic to look at, blacks are great for IPS, better than any IPS I have ever seen. I have all the good you spoke of and literally zero of the bad. I got a Perfect panel with 0 light bleed.
QUESTION: is 12 bit with DSC a better picture than 10 bit without DSC? This monitor is SO amazing looking I am having a hard time seeing the difference. Games look absolutely amazing on this. WOW is an understatement.
If you want an color accurate 144Hz gaming monitor in the 32" size. stop looking and buy this. Nothing else compares IMO.
I also do not have the Warm issue at start up. I think you could have a slightly bugged monitor.
In games G7/G8 Neo is probably better but for work/games this monitor can be more appropriate because G7/G8 Neo have got an aggressive 1000R curvature. It's not for everybody for sure.
There are no any 12 bit color depth in the monitor, it's a gimmick. Maybe it can be applied only for grays and blacks, as some monitors can support 12 bit depth brightness (including Neo series) but it's different.
@@socialreport2836 Good luck with samsungs QC
@@collinoverby Most people complain about Samsung QC on the Internet but they don't say anything when they have got a device without any issues and because of that it seems Samsung is bad but it is not.
I have got G9 Neo (and I know other people who own it as well) and there are no any issues with it, almost perfect, even the scanlines are invisible at 240 hz. G7 Neo seems to be better than G8 Neo (quality/price) but they are both much dimmer than G9 Neo in real HDR scene. You pay for what you get.
@@socialreport2836 Ig so I honestly dont like the curve on it so I might go with the lg 32gq950b
Keep up the good work. Enjoy your monitor reviews.
Fantastic comprehensive review as always.
Great review, I just ordered this monitor after hours of searching for the right one.
Your channel definitely deserve more views.
How you like it ?
@@TechyRodsWire I have enjoyed it thus far. It's a great mid-high-end monitor with a great quality image and nice refresh rate. My only complaint is the weird auto adjusting brightness feature. I have been able to tweak around some settings so it's not too bad, but Type-C reviews did talk about the problem in his review. Cheers!
This is a really good and detailed review, that isn't boring! This seems like it would be the perfect monitor with miniLEDs and a type-C thunderbolt/displayport like you said but definitely going to be on my short-list.
Corsair and LG gonna release 240hz OLED monitors, but theyre too big 45 inch, only 1440p.
wtf@@fynkozari9271
Fantastic video! Keep up the great work and content!
Keep up the great quality your gonna get big!
Just picked up an open box model from micro center for $600. Protective film wasn’t even removed! So far I love it!
Sold! Great review as always man, Im hoping to get this in the next couple weeks 🙏🏼
Same here loving it so much.
Trying to get my hands on this monitor this review make me want to get it more great video
nice reviews... but I'm torn between M32U or this LG GQ950. what do you recommend for pc gaming and mac use. Thank you!!
Awaiting your 48GQ900 OLED review!!!
I'm here because I think I'm gonna return my Neo G8, BUUUUUTTTT... I think after watching this video I'm gonna end up just using my older Odyssey G7 28" IPS until something really good comes out in the future. If this was mini-LED with 200+ zones I'd jump, but I will wait until something truly must buy comes out. Oh and I'm now a subscriber. Nice video BTW!
Great review! Question, have you seen the Benq Mobiuz yet? Its the EX321OU. Same price range of a thousand too. I'm curious how it compares.
it’s currently $1299 on LG’s and website. Great review buddy it’s the best one out there!
G7 Neo $1300 vs 32GQ950 $1300 vs AW3423 $1300. For HDR console games G7 Neo, for work/PC HDR games is AW3423, for SDR TV shows/SDR console gaming is 32GQ950. For work and cinematic view 21:9 is almost always better than 16:9.
Getting this monitor. Had to return my 65 inch lg g2 oled. Gave me eye strain and headaches. It’s labeled flicker free but it isn’t. Did the slow motion test on iPhone. Flickers like crazy. Also only 68 ppi
Great review as always, you really deserve more subs!
I like how here in Canada I find the 32GQ950-B at 1,7k or 1,65k on Best Buy and Amazon respectively vs the 27GP950-B running on a discount at 1,018 initially 1,2k still saving 500 or 450 bucks actually. I don't know how's the pricing elsewhere but I doubt it's 100$ difference in the US. Imo this big price bump isn't justified between these 2 products. Plus when there's the Inzone M9 or the Neo G7 being 500 and 150-200 bucks cheaper respectively to this 32. In my use case I look for decent / good hdr and freesync premium for regular and gaming usage
Just bought this for $599 via Amazon, and a day later, the price went up to $699. It's gonna get delivered tomorrow, can't wait to try this one out
maybe you bought refurbished/renewed? price trend shows it has never gone below $780ish for a new one.
@@trippplefivenah it’s brand new bro. I was surprised when I saw the price just now which is why I’m looking at reviews of the monitor
@@MrArjay123 Right now it's $650, not $599. How tf did he get the $599 price. Black Friday is almost here and it's still more expensive than a month ago?
@@ThienTu-rs2pv because within in the last month over 500 was bought . So they raised the price . The og price is 1300. People said if u can find it for a 1000 go for it ! Now imagine half off?! Ppl going crazy for it. To me a 1300 monitor going half off, means there’s some crazy ass monitors coming out in 2024 and they are trying to get rid of stock
I’m sure he got the 32gr93u. Still great monitor
Cannot wait for the lads at Hardware Unboxed to review this monitor. This is looking like my new gaming monitor to get unless some one comes out with a 32" 4k qd Oled flat panel monitor in the next few months.
Hi, can you recommend which is the best color profile for mac when HDR is enabled? I'm currently using the default color profile but it looks kinda grey...
Nice! What's the settings you go with? OC? 12bit?
is something like the 38GN950 still worth $900 or should I wait for drop in price? It was highly rated 2 years ago but now mini-LED monitors are around
Amazing monitor!!! Nice review Man
This monitor kicks ass. I just got a 3080 card to go along with it and take full advantage
What monitor did u think was better the LG 32 gq950 or the gigabyte m32u what monitor was better ?
I just got one for $699 at micro center! Was lucky enough to catch an open box!!
how is it?
I have the 27GP950 already. I’ll be holding out for a 27 to 32” OLED.
Seems like a nice monitor! Can't help to think it would be even better with evenly thick bezels all the way around and if the "UltraGear" text could be somewhere om the foot instead of on the bezel. And what's with the glossy plastic on the side of the display?
Sadly, this monitor is not available in my country(Philippines). Would you recommend the Gigabyte M32U as an alternative? Is this LG 32GQ950-B too far ahead of the Gigabyte M32U in terms of performance and gaming experience?
thx for the vid, whate the differnt between GP950 and GQ950?
I am debating this monitor, the eve or the lg c2 42 inch. I am going back and fourth. :-/ I am using it for my Xbox series x. Any suggestions?
its interesting I haven't seen your brightness bug and I have 84 hours on mine. I wonder if its a build quality issue. ON the other hand of the last weekend my lower left dimming zone is half dead which is a different QC issue. outside that its amazing. Yes no speakers is stupid. yes no auto input switch is stupid. But outside of those missing features I do love it and its SDR for MacOS/WinOS desktop work is friggin bright and I love it. HDR for xbox Series S/X is amazing.
Which one is the best for PS5 ? Acer Predator XB323QK or this LG 32GQ950 ? I am looking for fast display speed and minimum latency.
Which would you recommend between this and the Asus ROG Swift PG32UQ?
I play fps and have a 4090, but am torn between a 4k and a 2k monitor (the 32GQ850-B). 7900x cpu.
Any recommendations?
Just ordered one this morning for $899! 😮💨
Great review! Looking to get one of these LG 4K monitors to do some 4K, gaming and also watching 4K video, (TH-cam etc. ). I was leaning more towards LG 32GR93U. Its in the low $700 dollar range, where the LG 32GQ950-B is mid to high $800 range. Does anyone have experience with “both of these” and could tell me why you’d get one over the other. From what Im reading there isnt a huge difference. Can save about 120-140 bucks on the 32GR93U or is it worth spending the extra and getting the 32GQ950-B? Thoughts , suggestions.
While this is marketed as a gaming monitor, please cover SDR performance productivity office apps in your reviews. For example, how sharp is the text?
Looking forward to buy this. Standart price is absurd but maybe for 900-1000 would be good waiting for sales
amazon has it for $800
It’s on sale rn
Which better LG GN 650-B or Gigabyte G27F ?
Please Reply. GOOD LUCK.
Did the fix the brightness bug? I am thinking of buying this.
I’ve tried all 3 neo g8 aw3423dw oled and this lg. I settled on the lg. the neo g8 has a terrible ab coating and also some bad haloing which was a deal breaker. And the aw3423dw was nice but 1440p is just too low of a ppi. Also it has some bad vrr flicker and flickering in blacks. I honestly think this is the best bet right now for a real monitor and those that don’t want to use a lg oled tv
I am currently choosing what to buy. Either the AW3423DW or this LG monitor.
Alienware’s OLED glossy screen sounds really tempting, besides it’s ultrawide, something that I haven’t really tried yet for gaming. However I’m worried about the low PPI and burn-in.
This on the other hand is a very crisp 4K monitor, with better SDR brightness and it won’t ever burn-in, however the contrast ratio is conventional (it sucks) and besides the resolution, it won’t give me much of an upgrade over my current 32” 1440p 144hz monitor (also from LG).
I’m currently something like 70% for Alienware and 30% for LG. But I’m still researching and this might change.
Does the QHD Version have the same stuff as the UHD besides the refresh rate and quality
How would you compare this monitor to the Inzone M9?
Sounds like pretty much the perfect monitor at the moment. Unfortunately not released yet in Europe but I will keep my eyes open.
It will launch September 1st in Germany and just about two weeks later in the UK. Other countries will follow soon.
Not so sure as the pricing feels odd within their own products lineup at least here in Canada. Depending on your use case you may wanna reconsider. If it follows the same pricing a here then it you'll pay 300-350 euros more for a bigger screen size, fake hdr and somewhat more or less improved experience than in the 27gp950-b
how is it perfect? It’s a gimmick, they throw 4K in there to get you. You can’t even hit 144hz in 4K with any gpu without upscaling. Same with XSX and Ps5
@@GUY-on-Earth Indie games can go 4k. 3070 can go 4k. You dont play indie? I play fall guys at 144fps 1440p using 2070. My PC is 5 years old. If thats not enough, Nvidia is releasing new gpus in september 2022.
@@fynkozari9271 i do not play indie games. Only arcade/indie games i’ve ever been a fan of is Castle Crashers and Cuphead, maybe a few more i don’t remember but i cant say high fps on those games matter much
Best Buy just put it on sale for $750.00. And I ordered one.
how is it
I’m so ready to purchase the GQ900 48 OLED model.
For PC it's too much.
How are the screen reflections with this coating compared to a full glossy monitor like the Dough Spectrum One?
I have the 27in version of this. What I'd like is a side by side comparison to the samsung neo g8 32in
Is it possible to review the 32GQ850-B?
Can you adjust brightness and contrast while in sRGB mode ?
they have to include the brightness auto dim for energy efficiency requirements. same as the auto engine off feature in new vehicles that you can disable. they expect you to disable all of this, but they have to include it so they can say they did their part.
I believe his point was that disabling it via the menu did not actually disable the feature.
Definitely sounds like a software bug where it is not properly disabling.
@@creathir maybe try the App for windows
Just got one for $450 brand new, can’t wait to get it
Where ?
I guess there is soooo much content keyboards bring if your over them. Look forward to checking out the new channel. Just found. Peace!
Very difficult to find this monitor available in the UK at the mo, and if you can it's hideously expensive. How is the 32GR93U in comparison?
i have the GP950. I’m looking to build my first PC this year so I’ve been using my XSX on it this entire time and I honestly think it was a pointless purchase since I can’t hit more than 60 fps in native 4K. Can’t wrap my head around any 4K monitor until we’re at that point, 1080p and 1440p are not even as crisp since the pixel density is a lot more for 4K. A 32 inch monitor also doesn’t help for those resolutions
Xbox and monitor should be able to do 4k 120fps. If you cant hit that, you either have to change some settings (either on xbox or on the monitor) or you are playing a game that‘s not build for 4k120fps
Just ordered the LG 32GQ950 but I'm still on the fence with the Samsung G8.. What do you think between them? I kinda worry about the G8 crushing the blacks and over contrasting certain areas too much. Also, ppl mentioned G8 has issue with accurate colors pre-calibration. 240Hz less concern to me since I don't game high refresh games and anyway have only a 2070 graphics board.
On the other hand, I saw great reviews of the LG and ppl say even tho it has only 32 dimming areas, it's quite good for HDR contents and colors are accurate from factory.. So what do you think?
I have the LG and im returning it for the neo g8. The blacks on the lg are pretty bad and the dimming zones are noticeable, which makes the hdr pretty useless.
Stuck between this and the M32U but I think I'm going to just order the LG. I really hope I get no/super minimal IPS glow, as it is a panel lottery out there.
Same lol which one is better i have the 27 in version of this exact model 4k 144h
What did you go with?
@@oSyphrdid you make a purchase?
have you tried disable local dimming for the dimming issue?
Can you switch between pc and Xbox x easily? Thank you for this review!!
I have no problem switching between Xbox and pc you just have to go into the menu and switch input
is this monitor different than the "LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor 32GQ950P" ?
The only reason I'm not interested in its HDR performance are the black levels. Is it edge lit? I suppose so since they don't advertise any local dimming or zones.
Yes, probably local edge lit zones.
12:30 “there is 0 overshooting or ghosting.” Other reviews show significant overshoot and ghosting in those modes🧐👀
Hi, can I Play 1080p on the screen and it will look good?

Great video, please can you do a compare video for the Neo G8 and this monitor.
Wished you checked the sustained brightness in hdr like you did with the sdr. Also never run it at 12bit if using sdr makes the colors washed out.
It's an IPS and there's no FALD, so there's no HDR. It's just variable brightness.

Could you please review "LG - 32” 32GR93U-B" monitor
To whom It May Concern,
I am in the market to purchase a gaming monitor. What you recommend for a budget monitor for a PS5 setup ? My budget is max out to $450. And can maybe go higher with some payments plans that Amazon is offering. That is an option I have. Looking at IPS and 1440p. Thanks in advance. Best regards sir/miss
Can you do the Sony M9 monitor next ?
Lack of USB Type C but still I have ordered it to compare it with Philips Momentum 329m1rv, FI32 and AOC AG324UX. As all these are similar to the LG's. Interested to try ATW
The USB C is the reason I’m leaning toward the Phillips. The HDR is less interesting since it has bad dimming zone.
The Philips is bad. A lot of backlight bleeding and ips glow. Got it yesterday. Cheap quality. Fi32u or this one are both good
@@Harvester88 I would say you can use hdmi/ DP to Type C because Phillips has good vibrant colours but backlight bleed from all corners.
@@kjrayo18 I do not like FI32U I had to order 3 times but same issue, uniformity is not good across the panels and the color aren’t calibrated that well they looked dull in all the units
@@gurpreet122p that’s very unfortunate, monitor buying is a lottery lol. The only bad thing about this lg is no auto input switching. Other then that it’s great.
Any idea why it keeps changing brightness on its own? Ive turned off all the power saving options
i got one today with bad backlight bleeding... sent it back and ordered the same one again because apparently you can get a good ips display where you have little to no backlight bleeding. like in this video.
but this is the first monitor that has no flickering with gsync compatibility and hdr. I really hope that the other 32gq950b maintains exactly that, because it can be different from device to device. but please with little or no backlight bleeding. because I would like to be able to watch series, films and play games with often dark spots without feeling like crying because of the strong backlight bleeding. I will keep you up to date!
How does this compare to “Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor - G3223Q” ?
I see complaints on reddit about active fan being audible in this monitor. But I can't find any video-audio samples with something to compare, mouse click, noctua fan w/e. People do have different levels of sensitivity, I suspect I'm on the wrong end of that scale, undervolting GPU - CPU, tinkering with fan curves...and built a semi-open dampening box around PC. But I need a new monitor and this seems to be the least bad 4k 32" ugh
in nvidia control panel color , should i use 10 bpc or 12 ?
For a monitor released in the 2nd half of 2022 with only 32 zones of LDs, the released price of $1,300 USD is obviously too high.
Although at a price of $900 level in the case of a promotion, which is barely fair but not so cost-effective.
Just got it for 769. Totally justified the purchase 👌
Black Friday deal goin on rn going for 649!!!
Hi guys, can you help me deciding in either getting this monitor or the Samsung Odyssey G70B (32 Inch one - LS32BG702EEXXY). I really like the fact that the Samsung has in built OS but reading about it's HDR or lack of it makes me doubt about getting it. Thanks a lot.
does it have Sphere Lighting that reflects whats on the screen ?
Have you tried warzone on console? I’m having an issue with it looking good after playing a next-gen console games like vanguard, I have to completely change all the settings every time I go back to warzone. And I can’t seem to find good settings for warzone on console so if anyone had some let me know please.
How is this better than the M32U? They are both edge-lit IPS panels. The LG monitor as of now is 1200 on Amazon while the M32U is 700, I fail to see how the LG monitor is not a ripoff?
I missed the sale on B&H two weeks ago because I was procrastinating and waiting for more reviews. It looks like I picked up the last stock that was on sale on Amazon yesterday and is shipped directly from Beach Camera. The price went immediately back to MSRP as soon as I bought it. It arrives Monday.
Haha 🤣 😂 😁 I was wondering who got the last one on sale. I bought the one before you bought the last one. I bought the 2nd to the last one. With $200 still on my account in gift card I used, I end up paying a total with tax and all $843.00usd. Clutch! What a deal for me. Will receive it next week Wednesday 🙌, 🙏 it's a great one. Prices back up to ove $1200 again, sheesh!
How is the monitor???
@@bywoelflegames9961 The monitor died on me 3 days after I got it actually. It was a great monitor if you only game in SDR. The HDR was completely useless being edge lit. Light bleeds galore in HDR mode. I returned it and got a Gigbyte m32u for $200 less.
So, overall, would it be worth it to spend the extra $300 on this over the Gigabyte M32U?
For me it wouldn’t but I don’t like a real bright screen.
Oh hell yeah....wayy faster than the Gigabyte, and the picture and panel isn't even comparable. Unless you specifically want a cheap panel, LG all day...
So that’s what it was the DCS, lmao I was so pissed as to why my brightness was fluctuating, now I know
