I started with the smaller version of this tablet and now have this version. I have next to no formal art experience and absolutely none regarding digital art. That being said, I've made some really great art with this thing and have even used it as a tool in self publishing my books. I've never used a monitored tablet, due to being a beginner/affordability, but I'm really proud of what I've been able to accomplish with cheapo huion tablets. I definitely would recommend them!
That is true. I think for beginning artists and for artists who want to upgrade Huion is cheaper than Wacom, but what I’m finding lately is that the new branch of artists when they upgrade are moving to the iPad Pro and the newer 9.7” model that supports the Apple Pencil. I myself own the iPad Pro. I remember when I was upgrading from my pad tablet I compared a Huion and the iPad Pro, in the end I went with the iPad because it is more than just a drawing tool.
Colour Streak If that’s the case then explain to me why so many artists are switching over to the iPad Pro? Also if I may add, when you buy a display tablet or a pad tablet, (cheaper display tablets) then you need to connect them to a computer of sorts, now what if you don’t own a good enough computer? Or you just don’t have a computer at all and want to start digital art? You’d have to buy a new computer, and you’re not buying the computer for it just to be a drawing medium, you’re buying it for other things too.

Never used a tablet before, barely much of an artist (I mostly dabble In cartography). Got a 1060p for Christmas and within 30 minutes, I was drawing amazing maps. It’s so easy to learn, and the pressure sensitivity is great for cartography, because it allows for thickness differentials in the lines which serve extra well in drawing rivers and streams on a map. Really amazing, so glad I got it.
I want everyone to know that while Huion is definitely not a bad brand and I absolutely love my Huion WH1409, the wireless function stopped working after a month and Huion customer service won't reply. It's something that these youtubers that review the products can't know, but you should be aware of it if you want to buy a Huion tablet!
That's funny because I read a similar issue on Amazon where a wireless function stopped working after 2 months. Maybe that model is plagued with that issue :/
they don't have to. Wacom is for pros, it's expensive but you get what you pay for. Xp pen and huion are now really good but it's still not the same as wacom. And I've used maaaany tablets and brands

I bought this tablet last year, it's lasted me so long, even having to travel between houses a lot. It's very simple yet very good for drawing, after the slightest bit of setting up (downloading drivers, etc) it's done. And then all you have to do is plug it in and you're set! This tablet has been my first and only tablet for over a year and I'm okay with that. I really enjoy how detailed and expressive I can get with my art, despite using a cheap, minimalistic tablet!
I'm not entirely sure. Maybe with adapter cables? But you would still have to download drivers and such. I haven't tried it myself (In fact I don't have an IPhone, I have a Samsung) so I really don't know. I do feel like it would probably be really difficult to draw with a screen less tablet on a phone either way, since it's hard to get used to even on the computer.

Are there any budget tablets where I can draw directly onto the screen? I just know I wouldn't be able to focus drawing something somewhere and feeling a bit disconnected when it appears on a separate screen.
I've looked at the prices for screen tablets and the cheapest you'll find them is probably around $400 unless you go for an old one which might be outdated. Have a look at the Huion store, they have some pretty cheap screen tablets. *www.huiontablet.com* Xp-pen also has some cheap screen tablets, but I'm not sure whether or not Xp-pen is a good brand. *www.xp-pen.com/goods/lists/catid/21.html* You can also take a look at Wacom, they're the most popular brand but their devices are the most expensive. *www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays* Hope this helped. By the way, I've used a pad tablet before and the disconnect isn't as bad as you may think.
The Huion H610 is a good option, it is a good graphics tablet, especially for drawing and animation, it is a little small, but you can't expect too much for 60 bucks. Otherwise, there are the large monitor size for around 500 - 6000 dollars. Also , you can find good and cheap ones at www.huiontablet.com/all-products/graphic-tablets/
Billy Ochtman XP-Pen is a pretty good company! I have the Artist 13.3 and I'm so happy with it and the support is really nice and quick in responding! A total recommendation from me! :))
I’ve got to agree with you there. The disconnect isn’t such a problem. When I first got into digital art I was skeptic of what the experience was like, I ended up using it for about 2-3 years (it was One by Wacom, pretty small but it got the job done) and during that time I saved up and got the iPad Pro last December. Personally I think saving up, especially if art isn’t a must in your life then it’s okay to wait a little. Start off with a small and cheap tablet and then from there decide what you want to do. I ended up choosing the iPad because at the end of the day it’s more than just a drawing tool, it’s also something to play games on, to watch videos. But at the end of the day it’s up to the person choosing.

Mako. Nope! It just doesn’t die. I don’t have this exact tablet, but I do have a Huion, and I can say from 19 months of experience that the pen doesn’t need you to do anything. I haven’t even changed the nib and it still works lithe same as it did when I got it. I’m still not sure how it works, but rest assured that you won’t have to charge it or replace batteries.
Heyo! During December 2019 I have ordered myself a drawing tablet, exactly this one. 950p, I absolutely love it! *But* after 9 months later, the pen just died on me, the tablet shortcuts still work so it’s just the pen. There are replacement pens you can order on amazon corresponding to what is compatible to your device. I have yet to receive the replacement I ordered. But now I’m conscious is treating my pens like fragile glass because oh boy they can break easily. (Yes during the spam of 9 months, I have dropped it, banged it in rage from frustration, and nibble the top out of habit instead of biting my lips)
Jesus, I'm happy to see this. I've literally just ordered this as my very first drawing tablet, as I usually draw on my phone and a Kindle fire and was struggling because of it. I only found this video when looking for reviews after my purchase.
This is the best in its section for sure, New Wacom Intuos Draw is also pretty good (huion gives you more features, but Wacom gives you that Wacom feel), you can't go wrong with either and both are better than the XP Pen and Gaomon ones (not that they're bad, the huion and Wacom are just a better product) If you wanna go lower, choose either huion h640p or New Wacom One (same argument - huion has better features (pressure sensitivity), and Wacom has its feel) Lower than that would be the XP Pen and Gaomon ones where the drawing surface of the tablet is like a mousepad (and thus sort of flexible/foldable you could say) Lower than that would be scanning your traditional drawings to complete further in Photoshop like anime production lol If you're a beginner, what matters more is your fundamentals and not the details tbh, so any tablet will do (though I recommend at least the h640p/Wacom One or if you could then h950p/Intuos Draw) Hope this helps someone at least

Hi, some time ago your tablet comparison video convinced me to try out and buy huion. (smaller model h640p, I am a beginner), it was one of the best purchases I made. The inspiroy surface might seem for some a bit too smooth, but it might be considered also a feature, its pretty light on your hand movements (great for playing osu!) I am extremely happy with it, the quality is great, sensitivity, speed is great, and the price was laughable. Although I have to say that the express-buttons are black and flat which makes them hard to see, and hard to hit without getting your eyes off the screen, but that can be easily fixable with few little colorful stickers or sth. not much of an issue. I also found that the huion h640p stylus is compatible with a 2in1 laptops (that originally had a wacom stylus digitizer) Anyway, thanks.

Glad to see how much you, as a pro, like this. I (as a complete n00b) really like my "Haitch"640P. It's smaller but otherwise has the same surface and pen and nice feel and build quality and 8000 pressure levels. It's a very convenient size, doesn't take up much desk room, and slips in the case with my 15" laptop. Only six express keys, which is OK, but no tilt though.

@@YizusCrist Of course! First of all, I work as a pro retoucher and in the agency we use 300/400 € Wacom tablets. So I was not happy going home and trying to work with the Xp-Pen, it felt so clumsy and not precise. The HUION Inspiroy H950P is great! It feels very good and I enjoy working with it. It's precise enough and confortable to use. You can definetely see the lower quality of materials compared to Wacom, but Wacom are too expensive. Not woth it... So yeah, I recommend it very much.
@@YizusCrist the tablet surface is solid. So I think that will last for 3 or 4 years depending on how I treat it. The plastic tips of the pen seem good, there are plenty of replacemnets 3 or 4 years with normal usage. The buttons on the other hand seem really weak so you have to be careful. If you use them a lot they will come out in 2 years. But that is not a problem for me as I dont really use any button. I prefer to use the keyboard for all the shortcuts. I dont even use the buttons on the Wacoms we use on the company. If you like to use them then just be more careful. But let's say this tablet lasts you 2 or 3 years, that's a pretty good investment. 70 € for a pretty good tablet. And most importartant: usable. The XP-Pen cst me 90 € and it's not that good. So yeah, this one is worth it.
My dad just asked me what I wanted to Xmas and bc of this review I asked for this tablet (the most recent) the reason is bc of this review! I remembered it two years later! I want it bc I will be taking my tablet every where I go. Especially to where I work in a preschool and I need it to be extremely portable and fit in my laptop case! I honestly love Huion. I have a display one (GT-220 V2) and without it (and Jazza's tutorials haha) I don't think I could have done my first animation, which I'm very proud of. I recommend Huion, they seem really professional. :)
Im a beginner to digital art and i bought the same model in this video. Surprisingly, i thought it was hard to use on the beginning as everybody said about digital art and it actually not that hard...? I can draw freely after a couple hours of trying it. Its also lighter than i thought it would too.
I got a Huion tablet for Christmas and I *love* it. It's my first and only art tablet. It's basically the same as the one you were talking about, except the pen requires charging. It is so great.

I have a different Huion tablet (monitor tablet), but I can honestly say that I love it and I recommend them as a company overall. They are super helpful and really want their customers to be happy. *goes and hugs the beautiful tablet*
Mr wizard Some people don’t like hooking tablets to their computers and using so many wires. This devices allows not many wires so not a messy drawing area, and it has a screen you can see while drawing and you don’t have to look back and forth. You just have to look at one screen and I know for beginners it does take a while sometimes to get used to not looking at the tablet and the computer screen while drawing but this is just my personal reason as to why. Others may just like the sound of this tablet and think the pros are worth it.
@@MissM25 What? this does not have a screen and it still requires a wire, infact both only require a single wire. That isn't exactly gonna clutter your workspace too much.

Pad tablets irritate me so much too, I find display ones so much easier as it's more like drawing on paper. Maybe I should check this one out as carrying my massive wacom cintiq, and laptop can be pain to carry around.
haha yeah! I could only afford it because I worked two jobs and it was my 18th birthday and I mostly got money. Think it cost me over £600, but you can probably get it for less now as that was 3 years ago

I got this tablet about a year ago, and it has really served me well in terms of how well it works and how it feels to draw on, however there has been one extremely major con that I feel should be addressed. After a few months my pen completely stopped working. It was lagging and wouldn't respond (I knew there was an issue with the pen because my sister has the same pen and it worked fine) so I replaced it, and now a few months later that one has broken as well. I honestly don't really know what to do--I don't want to keep buying pens if they're just going to keep breaking.
honest review, thank you . Did you ever make a decision on a 10*6" active area or bigger? XP-PEN have put out a 10*6.25 inches XP-PEN Deco 01 to compete with the budget Huion Inspiroy H950P tablet and it's all good for the consumer.

I want everyone to know that while Huion is definitely not a bad brand and I absolutely love my Huion WH1409, the wireless function stopped working after a month and Huion customer service won't reply.
It's something that these youtubers that review the products can't know, but you should be aware of it if you want to buy a Huion tablet!

I bought this tablet last year, it's lasted me so long, even having to travel between houses a lot. It's very simple yet very good for drawing, after the slightest bit of setting up (downloading drivers, etc) it's done. And then all you have to do is plug it in and you're set!
This tablet has been my first and only tablet for over a year and I'm okay with that. I really enjoy how detailed and expressive I can get with my art, despite using a cheap, minimalistic tablet!
I know this is old but does it work on IPhone?
I'm not entirely sure. Maybe with adapter cables? But you would still have to download drivers and such. I haven't tried it myself (In fact I don't have an IPhone, I have a Samsung) so I really don't know. I do feel like it would probably be really difficult to draw with a screen less tablet on a phone either way, since it's hard to get used to even on the computer.

Are there any budget tablets where I can draw directly onto the screen? I just know I wouldn't be able to focus drawing something somewhere and feeling a bit disconnected when it appears on a separate screen.
I've looked at the prices for screen tablets and the cheapest you'll find them is probably around $400 unless you go for an old one which might be outdated.
Have a look at the Huion store, they have some pretty cheap screen tablets. *www.huiontablet.com*
Xp-pen also has some cheap screen tablets, but I'm not sure whether or not Xp-pen is a good brand. *www.xp-pen.com/goods/lists/catid/21.html*
You can also take a look at Wacom, they're the most popular brand but their devices are the most expensive. *www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays*

By the way, I've used a pad tablet before and the disconnect isn't as bad as you may think.
The Huion H610 is a good option, it is a good graphics tablet, especially for drawing and animation, it is a little small, but you can't expect too much for 60 bucks. Otherwise, there are the large monitor size for around 500 - 6000 dollars.

I’ve got to agree with you there. The disconnect isn’t such a problem. When I first got into digital art I was skeptic of what the experience was like, I ended up using it for about 2-3 years (it was One by Wacom, pretty small but it got the job done) and during that time I saved up and got the iPad Pro last December. Personally I think saving up, especially if art isn’t a must in your life then it’s okay to wait a little. Start off with a small and cheap tablet and then from there decide what you want to do. I ended up choosing the iPad because at the end of the day it’s more than just a drawing tool, it’s also something to play games on, to watch videos. But at the end of the day it’s up to the person choosing.

Mako. Nope! It just doesn’t die. I don’t have this exact tablet, but I do have a Huion, and I can say from 19 months of experience that the pen doesn’t need you to do anything. I haven’t even changed the nib and it still works lithe same as it did when I got it. I’m still not sure how it works, but rest assured that you won’t have to charge it or replace batteries.

Heyo! During December 2019 I have ordered myself a drawing tablet, exactly this one. 950p, I absolutely love it! *But* after 9 months later, the pen just died on me, the tablet shortcuts still work so it’s just the pen. There are replacement pens you can order on amazon corresponding to what is compatible to your device. I have yet to receive the replacement I ordered. But now I’m conscious is treating my pens like fragile glass because oh boy they can break easily.
(Yes during the spam of 9 months, I have dropped it, banged it in rage from frustration, and nibble the top out of habit instead of biting my lips)

I've literally just ordered this as my very first drawing tablet, as I usually draw on my phone and a Kindle fire and was struggling because of it.
I only found this video when looking for reviews after my purchase.
This is the best in its section for sure, New Wacom Intuos Draw is also pretty good (huion gives you more features, but Wacom gives you that Wacom feel), you can't go wrong with either and both are better than the XP Pen and Gaomon ones (not that they're bad, the huion and Wacom are just a better product)
If you wanna go lower, choose either huion h640p or New Wacom One (same argument - huion has better features (pressure sensitivity), and Wacom has its feel)
Lower than that would be the XP Pen and Gaomon ones where the drawing surface of the tablet is like a mousepad (and thus sort of flexible/foldable you could say)
Lower than that would be scanning your traditional drawings to complete further in Photoshop like anime production lol
If you're a beginner, what matters more is your fundamentals and not the details tbh, so any tablet will do (though I recommend at least the h640p/Wacom One or if you could then h950p/Intuos Draw)

Hi, some time ago your tablet comparison video convinced me to try out and buy huion. (smaller model h640p, I am a beginner), it was one of the best purchases I made. The inspiroy surface might seem for some a bit too smooth, but it might be considered also a feature, its pretty light on your hand movements (great for playing osu!)
I am extremely happy with it, the quality is great, sensitivity, speed is great, and the price was laughable. Although I have to say that the express-buttons are black and flat which makes them hard to see, and hard to hit without getting your eyes off the screen, but that can be easily fixable with few little colorful stickers or sth. not much of an issue. I also found that the huion h640p stylus is compatible with a 2in1 laptops (that originally had a wacom stylus digitizer) Anyway, thanks.

Glad to see how much you, as a pro, like this. I (as a complete n00b) really like my "Haitch"640P. It's smaller but otherwise has the same surface and pen and nice feel and build quality and 8000 pressure levels. It's a very convenient size, doesn't take up much desk room, and slips in the case with my 15" laptop. Only six express keys, which is OK, but no tilt though.

@@YizusCrist Of course! First of all, I work as a pro retoucher and in the agency we use 300/400 € Wacom tablets. So I was not happy going home and trying to work with the Xp-Pen, it felt so clumsy and not precise. The HUION Inspiroy H950P is great! It feels very good and I enjoy working with it. It's precise enough and confortable to use. You can definetely see the lower quality of materials compared to Wacom, but Wacom are too expensive. Not woth it... So yeah, I recommend it very much.

@@YizusCrist the tablet surface is solid. So I think that will last for 3 or 4 years depending on how I treat it. The plastic tips of the pen seem good, there are plenty of replacemnets 3 or 4 years with normal usage. The buttons on the other hand seem really weak so you have to be careful. If you use them a lot they will come out in 2 years. But that is not a problem for me as I dont really use any button. I prefer to use the keyboard for all the shortcuts. I dont even use the buttons on the Wacoms we use on the company. If you like to use them then just be more careful. But let's say this tablet lasts you 2 or 3 years, that's a pretty good investment. 70 € for a pretty good tablet. And most importartant: usable. The XP-Pen cst me 90 € and it's not that good. So yeah, this one is worth it.
My dad just asked me what I wanted to Xmas and bc of this review I asked for this tablet (the most recent) the reason is bc of this review! I remembered it two years later! I want it bc I will be taking my tablet every where I go. Especially to where I work in a preschool and I need it to be extremely portable and fit in my laptop case! I honestly love Huion. I have a display one (GT-220 V2) and without it (and Jazza's tutorials haha) I don't think I could have done my first animation, which I'm very proud of. I recommend Huion, they seem really professional. :)

Im a beginner to digital art and i bought the same model in this video. Surprisingly, i thought it was hard to use on the beginning as everybody said about digital art and it actually not that hard...? I can draw freely after a couple hours of trying it. Its also lighter than i thought it would too.

Mr wizard Some people don’t like hooking tablets to their computers and using so many wires. This devices allows not many wires so not a messy drawing area, and it has a screen you can see while drawing and you don’t have to look back and forth. You just have to look at one screen and I know for beginners it does take a while sometimes to get used to not looking at the tablet and the computer screen while drawing but this is just my personal reason as to why. Others may just like the sound of this tablet and think the pros are worth it.

Pad tablets irritate me so much too, I find display ones so much easier as it's more like drawing on paper. Maybe I should check this one out as carrying my massive wacom cintiq, and laptop can be pain to carry around.

I got this tablet about a year ago, and it has really served me well in terms of how well it works and how it feels to draw on, however there has been one extremely major con that I feel should be addressed. After a few months my pen completely stopped working. It was lagging and wouldn't respond (I knew there was an issue with the pen because my sister has the same pen and it worked fine) so I replaced it, and now a few months later that one has broken as well. I honestly don't really know what to do--I don't want to keep buying pens if they're just going to keep breaking.

The way you say H is the British accent and that is the original pronunciation the correct one.👍🏻
As a brit - source? Haych has become prevalent here, but aych, to my knowledge, is considered the original/"correct" one.
