One of my farming neighbors years ago was changing hoses on an anhydrous tank and it sprayed him in the face. He didn't go blind, but not far from it. He says he now knows people from their shape and walk and voice, everything is blurry. I was happy to see you wearing that face protection
It is caustic, it wont cause cancer or anything but it will burn you really bad if you get it on you. I use Prilled or pelleted fertilizer at my place cause its easier to handle and doesnt pose any risks unless you like ate it.
Hey Grant, please be careful with anhydrous. My father passed away from cancer because of all the years of using it on our farm. Much love to you from Ideus Farms ❤️
Sorry for your fathers loss, but don’t make up fake accusations of anhydrous being the cause of cancer. It is literally NH3. Nitrogen and hydrogen are in our everyday lives that we come into contact with. NH3 is just a extremely concentrated form of it and does not pose any cancer risks
Lookin good Grant and Spencer nice upgrades hopefully you’ll get a bigger second tractor this year or the next you’ll need it best of luck. We’re about half done with planting in Illinois
Grant, good to see you following your dreams bud! I use to watch a lot of your Farm sim TH-cam videos. I just recently read your story. Great job! Keep on growing my man!
Grant, to increase the traction adjust the air pressure in your tires. Lower air pressure equals a bigger tire footprint and better traction. Check your tire manufacturers recommendations, usually you can even reduce it even more, but as soon as the tires wrinkle when under traction, you are too low. Greetings from Germany, Tim.
I custom apply nh3, spread dry fert, and spray and this is really cool to see I’m happy you had someone to run you through it all because it gets crazy. If you have any questions about I would love to give you all of the tips and tricks that I have for next season application. Cool to see man.
Dude, love the videos. I’m in college and plan on going to dental school to make enough money and have flexible hours to start farming. Keep us updated
Something I do when I hook up smoke tanks is I always keep a pipe wrench in the cab so on the coupler from bar to the tank I give it a little snug with a pipe wrench I had one coupler some a tad loose once from bouncing in the field. I am a fan of the mask I should get one for when I apply on my farm!
On your 4640 to raven cable - the pins just plug into the connector that goes into the 4640. I can get the pinout for you if you need. On your 8110 pulling hard - you only need to run the knives deep enough so that the trench seals up and gas is not visibly rising out of the ground. I've pulled a 13 knife with a 4640 just fine and have been running a 15 knife on a 4850 with side by side tanks the last 2 years. Most of those bars come with cylinder stops to set the depth consistently
Grant, you should consider looking into or asking around about "Liquid Nitragon" (28-0-0) Its a Furt in actual Liquid Form, you put Liquid tanks on your tractor n run hose to every row on your planter, n put in down with your seed, it has 0% Loss, n its all in 1 no need for 2 passes, save alot on Feul. Anhydrous has 75% Loss when put doen in gas Form, so your only gettijg 25% of your moneys worth,
@@Metallicgray_6.7 we used to do the same thing, we did testing thats what we came up with, n so did 150 other farms within 3 hours of us, every farm i know has gone away from it the past 5-10 years. Anhydrious is basically a Cheap booster like a steriod n wears off Quick. Liquid Nydragon Does not. Its Comon sense really, ones a Gas 1s a Liquid, dont really need much thought process to figure that out. My Friend.
👍 thanks for posting. Far and few between. When are we going to get a better quality picture. 1080p like really?? We need the video quality to meet the content quality
Kind of surprised you are using Anhydrous still. Here in ND most places have stopped using and even selling it. My uncle is a custom applicator and used to deal with it and hand some scares. They've stopped completely with it. Please be careful!
Its the most common fertilizer in use nitrogen wise, I spread prilled or pelleted fertilizer myself because its so much cheaper and easier to work with and no risks unless you like ate it or something really stupid.
We don't use anhydrous bc we do silage and honestly not gonna risk life's with this lime and fertilizer and liquid fertilizer works fine and it's brown lime :)
Only 1 or 2 types of lime are dangerous. Dolomite lime or regular calcium carbonate garden lime are not dangerous, hydrated lime is really dangerous shit and will burn the crap out of you.
We use granular urea with a strip tiller here in Aus would we a worth while investment for your farm less safety gear requirements and you could get yourself a auger wagon that could be used for harvest
You said you need more traction, do you have the big 1500 lbs weights? One on each of the inside wheel for 3000lbs extra weight? The tractors should weigh 100 to 110 lbs per horse power.
It's so funny to see how different farmers farm. We've always used solid fertiliser and I know some neighbours use liquid fertiliser but I've never heard of anyone using gas as their fertiliser :P
You need to get a real set of drags on the new cultivator. Look at summers or JD drags for it. You can lay them back far enough to let corn trash flow. Those ones on it are junk
You might go to a scrap yard/ iron recycle center and get you some tubing and a couple iron plates (3/4 inch thick) and make your own hitch... These purchased hitches aren't always farm friendly.
Also for your bean stubble issues, check your chopper blades on your combine... might need turned over or replaced. FYI.. choppers are balanced so the blades have to go back in the same location...
honestly the best way to spend money on a farm: smallest, oldest tractor u can get away with pulling a state of the art precision farming implement. at the end of the day nice iron just standing around wont make you any money
Don’t sell that 2630 display!!! I started out buying a new 4640 display I’m a one man band so I switch the display from tractor to tractor. There are some things that the 4640 display is not compatible with where the 2630 is. For instance I tried buying a 4720 sprayer last year when a 2630 display was impossible to find around here. My 4640 display was not compatible with the old brown box controller that alot of the John Deere sprayers had and I lost a great deal just because I didn’t have a 2630 display.
Get a cordless impact for the shear bolts, also use nylon lock nuts, it helps speed up shear bolt changes

Yea same happen to me sorry for your loss
That’s bullshit. Ammonia most definitely does not cause cancer
As long as Grant uses proper equipment an precautions he will be fine been doing anhydrous for 30 years an cancer free
Sad
😔
Really appreciated your talk of safety around Anhydrous. Can't ever be too careful around it!
Grant you and spectacular Spencer are rich in so many ways I love you both so much Keep it going.

Hey Grant if this video gets 20,000 likes then you have to put a chrome stack on the 8110.

Load the tires with rim guard, it beet juice and will add 13 lbs per gallon and condition the rubber so they don’t dry rot, hope this helps
It’s also not corrosive and very basic

If this was true why would any farmer pay for NH3?
@@thomasbritten7216 its much Cheaper, n easier to get. Especally for smaller farms but it doesnt have the benifits long term.
@@Johnc03v16 I'm not convinced you know how to read a fertilizer label or that you can tell me why anhydrous is sometimes called NH3
The 4640 is the best decision made I love ours
I live in Texas all our crops are in wish you the best of luck
Cool truck
Gotta be one of my favourite yt channels
i pull a liquid 32% rig with an 8310, 12 row 30in. even on some of the slicker hills with a full tank it’ll slip.
You do great content on your the squad account and this one to I hope your farming career goes good
Your getting there grant
Great video great job keep up the great work stay safe
We love our 4640 displays
Nice job
Hell yeah love that video 📹

Anhydrous Ammonia is liquid nitrogen
Ammonia is a liquid
NH3 is not permitted in Europe

Put some grease in the hitch receiver and it'll slide better
You guys should find a grain box for the military truck…
Or biild one
Lesssssssss gooooooooo
what is your plan with your old field cultivating?
I see you put a bolt in your ball hitch receiver... good call! You might even drill it out and make it bigger :) Drive safe!!
Nevermind.. just got to that point on the video!! You did well!! :)

When I finished lime this fall in the 1050 I got put on gas in my 1050
Love your videos how many hours are on the 8110
Did you put down all your N units or are you going to top dress some in season?
Nice video. You sound like that guy with a TH-cam channel called the squad
I love the vids
Looks great. Do you sleep in that camper?
and make sure to be very careful around it will cause very very bad burns (from experience)
So are you and Spencer staring a big farm or separate
Hi grant love your vidios
They do less tillage meaning the dirt is solid and not loose like this
You should do a farm sim series of your farm
Hey grant I have 25 acres of workable area for hay and grass bales. Would this be enough. I also have a John Deere 4430 and 6403
higher gear lower RPM up hills prevents wheels from spinning
Hey Grant to make her stay grounded put water in the tires
You don’t have to in the duels tho
Wait you actually farm I didn’t know your name I just knew you as the squad but you can’t miss that voice
Water runs is wut u need
Don't bleed the bar out by the road, people get upset 😂😂

at the end of the day nice iron just standing around wont make you any money
My dad calls anhidras cheap fertilizer 😂
U guys r doing a great job ur learning fast
A John Deere 7810 2wd would be a good 2nd tractor
You should take it out of front wheel drive to go down roads fast your front wheels will fall of just saying
please read this
man i see your doin g good your first couple years but before you try to go bigger with more land you need to get another tractor
You’re going to need another building before long
You all crack me up with the respirators on 😂
@Andy Pedro I get it and that’s great an all but it’s not needed unless in an emergency.
Early may?

Is nate going to be on this channel
might ask around about BILLIE SOL ESTES
Tell Spenser to get a horse and name it clanens
You found the disk

Hi grant
For better traction fill all those tires with water put two jugs of antifreeze in each tire it pull like crazy
