Farmers and rural America don't spend our time concerned over social issues. We have neighbors, family, faith, and country. Social media is not social and has been deteriorating the fabric our nation. When an iconic company like John Deere doesn’t have the courage to push back against shareholders like Vanguard and Blackrock and funds social activism, they have compromised their values over money. If your values don’t align with mine, you’re not getting through the front gate. Doesn’t sit well with me, but my family’s hard earned income is going elsewhere. Thank you Brock for your sharing your insight and opinions.
Good points Brock. I grew up driving my Dad’s JD B. I’ve owned a 955, 2720, and now a 4066R. Just purchased an LS MT573 and like you, probably won’t be able to sell my 4066R for anywhere close to what I believe it’s worth. For all the reasons you mentioned, I have a hard time believing that I’ll ever purchase another JD product. Given the choice, I simply won’t support their agendas and policies. While I’d like to see everything built in the USA, we have to accept that we are living in a global economy. I’m extremely happy with my LS…full featured and very capable for 10’s of thousands less than a comparable JD or Kubota. I’ve compared them all. I can’t be convinced that JD or Kubota are that much better in features, capacities, or quality to justify a few thousand dollars difference, let alone 10’s of thousands.
With layoffs and years of fighting farmers right to repair showed me Deere could care less about it’s customers. Overpriced to begin with. If I had one I’d source as many parts aftermarket outside of Deere. They would get little to nothing. Glad I never bought one.
Right to repair should have had JD dead ten years ago, Americans are stupid though and don't care, just buy a color. Sadly it takes this to wake people up.
@@carrollsanders9376 per Reuters Nov. 2023. No supreme court Deere ruling found online. Nov 27 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Monday said Deere & Co (DE.N), opens new tab must face claims from crop farms and farmers that the agricultural machinery maker has unlawfully conspired to restrict services for maintenance and repair. U.S. District Judge Iain Johnston in Rockford, Illinois, rejected, opens new tab Deere's effort to dismiss consolidated lawsuits accusing the Moline, Illinois-based company of violating U.S. antitrust law. The judge said the plaintiffs had met legal thresholds to pursue their claims. "According to the complaint's allegations, Deere has the ultimate control of the repair services market," Johnston wrote in his 89-page order. "These allegations are not mere legal conclusions. The complaint is chock-full of factual allegations to support this conclusion." Deere has denied the allegations and will have a chance at a later stage in the case to dispute the merits of the farmers' claims. A Deere spokesperson and attorneys for the company at Jones Day on Monday did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A lead plaintiffs' attorney in the case, Daniel Hedlund of law firm Gustafson Gluek in Minneapolis, said they "look forward to continuing to pursue the claims of their farmer clients in this right to repair antitrust case." The case is part of a growing push from consumers and others challenging restrictions on maintenance and repair. A U.S. judge in California this month dismissed a right-to-repair case against Tesla but said drivers could refile an amended complaint. The Biden administration broadly has backed a federal legislative effort to end restrictive repair practices, which critics argue raises costs for consumers. In the Deere litigation, six prospective class actions were consolidated last year before Johnston. The cases allege Deere has conspired with dealerships to control where and how machines are maintained and repaired. The complaint, opens new tab said farmers are "prevented from using trusted, less expensive, and more conveniently located skilled mechanics who are not affiliated with Deere." Lawyers for Deere have argued that only a "small subset" of repairs must be done at Deere-authorized dealerships. The company told the court that it has "never hidden" that some repairs require the company's dealers. In a filing, opens new tab, the lawyers said federal antitrust law does not require "Deere to give all of its proprietary repair tools and software to anyone who happens to want them." The case is In re: Deere & Co Repair Service Antitrust Litigation, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, 3:22-cv-50188.

Don't need to love them for the 'logo.' Deere is the ag version of Disney/ESPN now. Don't be afraid to divorse the brand that is no longer the same co.
I have a JD 3025e and I love it. Getting it worked on is a trip, not easy at all, and it's expensive. Looking at TYM because of their tractor, not because I'm mad at JD. Wasn't going to buy another JD anyway.
So, I've been contemplating moving up in size from my 1025r to the 3r series in the next year or so. My wife said "When are you putting all your John Deere stuff out by the road for sale?" when this was first brought to light... Was fooled into thinking the resale value was always gonna be there or at least have something to pass on that my grandkids would be proud to own.
Just so everyone knows, Bill Gates Owen's 51% of John Deere stock, is he calling the shots? Pretty frustrated with John Deere and Bill Gates. Maybe we should make John Deere employee owned!!!
It's 3.8%, where do you people get your info? Hell, the largest shareholder is Vanguard, and they own 7.8%. Geez, all this stuff is reported, all you have to do is read.
Regardless of who owns stocks in John Deere. They have forgotten there for Father's goals. To make a great product at a fair price. The last 3 new products I have bought of John Deere have been very disappointing. 6125R tractor, 835R Gator , 935M zero turn. All have given me more problems than all of my old equipment combined.
The lowest cost equipment that does the job has a better resale value than the most expensive equipment option. Example: when both tractors are equivalent in capability, then a $60,000 tractor that has a higher resale value is less financially viable than a $38,000 tractor that has a lower resale value.
When I large company like Deere goes public on political and social ideology, it openly solidifies it's stance on said issues. There is no coming back from that. Your three points Brock indicate they have turned their backs on the loyal bread and butter owners and as well as wrote off all the loyal Deere supporters of the last 100 plus years. What else is there to say? It is what it is.
Haha. Sounds about right We just bought a CTL. We looked hard at the JD you had. We ended up getting A New Holland. It actually has a diagnostic tool built into the screen. Didn't even know that was a feature until we got it and started messing with it. It doesn't just give you a code. It tells you what the code means and what potential issues the machine might be having. We were blown away.
I do understand the right to repair because of how advance these tractors are now its not like the 70s and 80s when you could pull the engine and transmission with out using special tools
If Americans buy made in America only, the problem goes away. Companies will stay in America. But no. We Americans want the cheaper made in Korea, Japan, China, India. Just buy American. Very simple.
Wow, spot on comments. John Deere would be wise to listen to you....but, I doubt they will. I just bought TYM 474C........go red, John Deere will wake up ...maybe ....if enough people do go red. Subscriber from Iowa.
Unless it's a 750 with a pony motor at the newest, I don't want that John Deere tractor. The 750 has options that you find on tractors today, some of which are now standard. Dual remotes, live PTO, 3-point hitch, and possibly a few others. The 750 also has a narrow front option where the two front tires are directly under the centerline, which allows for tighter turns than the wide front version can pull off. For some stupid reason, you won't see the narrow front configuration on new tractors. The 750 also has a drum on the transmission that spins whenever the clutch is engaged, which allows you to run belt drive equipment, and I love having the option in case I need it. You need an adaptor for your PTO to run equipment like that with a new tractor, and that's just another attachment to keep track of when you need to do an itemized deduction on your taxes, which can be enough of a clusterfuck with very few pieces of equipment. In summary, I'll gladly take a lever clutch over fancy doodads and luxury comfort items. John Deere has gone too far trying to compete with other companies.
Are you serious? I admired Trump a year ago when he was against EV's but as soon as Musk gave him money he switched and started pushing EV's as good. He even said he was doing it because of the money from Musk. If JD started giving his campaign money he would be back him full tilt. Two face MF!
Unfortunately they are on the mess around and find out track. Living in and being from Iowa its sad to the legacy that has been build be torn apart. Great video brock i appreciate the facts!

You seem obviously incapable of thinking. But here you are telling others to think. Actually, try researching Biden`s accomplishments so far. Well never mind on that. It seems it would be too hard for you to comprehend real actual FACTS.
JD's had factories in Mexico for decades...Use what works for you and what's available. Don't be a brand bunny...They're not loyal to their customers, especially nowadays
As a salesman at a Dealership that sells John Deere, I couldn't agree with you more. I can tell you the men an women working at the dealerships agree with you too. This is all BS on John Deere's part. They don't have to sit in front of Farmers, residential, or commercial guys busting their butts to earn a buck and it shows that they don't know (or care) about their customers.
At this rate I'll be going back to plowing with an ox, digging with a shovel, wearing homemade clothes, and drinking moonshine. I boycott a new company every week.
tractor time with Tim brought this up yesterday and I hope that JD corporate listens and makes some changes quickly before they are forced to lose , lose, and lose more
Love my tractor. But the technical support I got from quality equipment was lackluster at best. If I see Dylan Mulvaney on a J. Deere commercial I will sell my tractor at a loss ASAP.

John Deere was one the tractor on my short list when was looking for a sub compact. The tractor was 5000 more. Every attachments cost more for loader. The biggest thing was I couldn’t get the sales person in two store give me the time of day. I bought little massy and it been great little tractor.
Let's use Toyota as an example. Sure headquarters are in Tokyo but the trucks they make in Texas are better quality than the made in USA trucks from Ford or GM. They found a way to pay workers a decent wage, decent benefits but still make it work. Farmers can't wait for repairs during harvest.
I looked for months for a new tractor. I looked at Deere, Kubota, Kioti, LS. I liked them all. Looking at Deere’s website I had to double check to see if I was in the right place. You can tell the wokeness was running deep. Did not look like a farming/landowner site at all. I bought a Kubota. I like Japanese products and they all stand the test of time. I own an older Deere too. Just a shame. A company can’t just do business and leave the rest of the crap alone.
Brock just wanted to bring this up. From what I have read, it is only the skid steer and compact track loaders that are being moved. All the rest of the deere lineup is still US made. So all compact and sub compact will still be US made. Just all the skid steer lineup are moving. Not saying it's right they are moving just wanted to clear that part up.
Pretty much like everything else in our world these days, it's not about a quality product or happy customers it's about quarterly profits for the shareholders...
Very valid points! When will companies figure out stock holders aren't their customers. Conform to what the people thst buy your products (within reason and such). No one asked them to be political. Make a good product, period!
Oh. I know. I just bought a john deere z760r HC pro 60cut 27hp kawasaki with the bagger system and the next week after getting it they were in the news about lay offs started coming out and now this. Seams like all big companies are doing this. Ford , GM, parent company to Ram did the same thing a while back. But I agree with you but also we all know John deere won't go backwards on stuff because they're Big and greed is tugging on pockets.
You spoke the truth. Companies are being persuaded by their banks to go woke. I don’t understand why any company would clearly and blatantly go against their customers values, it’s terrible for business. Those banks must have a lot of influence
I don't think going back to simple farm equipment is an option, at least for big agricultural operations. Automation is becoming more and more important, both for cost savings, but more importantly, to increase yields. Equipment that can accurately and quickly prep land, place seed, harvest, calculate yields, minimize soil amendments, etc are the key to this. Fully automatic farming is where it's headed, because (I believe) the younger generation as a whole isn't interested, and because the family farm is disappearing, they're not being exposed to it from a young age and brought up with it as a way of life. Starting a new farm is next to impossible, the costs are astronomical, and the risk is even higher. Those with small farms, hobby farms, and home users want simpler equipment, and we all want more reliable equipment, but big ag wants full automation.

Remember when GM moved some of their manufacturing to Mexico. That didn't work so well for them. Now they are back. It took them a few years to figure it out. Hopefully JD will learn quicker.
So sad when companies that helped build this country and make it work are taken over by people who think they have to push their agenda on EVERYONE else. Build or manufacture or sell your product and do your business and leave social agendas out of it. Otherwise suffer the consequences. Unfortunately those of us loyal to the brand suffer too. I was born and raised on the farm 95% JD equipment still had the 1949 JD A that my dad had and the 1945 JD grain drill he bought when I sold the farm a few years ago. And you could still get parts for them. I bet that will go away too. So sad.

You are literally crying over a social issue.
We went from Queer beer to Queer Deere!

John Deere has Chronic wasting disease
With layoffs and years of fighting farmers right to repair showed me Deere could care less about it’s customers. Overpriced to begin with. If I had one I’d source as many parts aftermarket outside of Deere. They would get little to nothing. Glad I never bought one.
Right to repair should have had JD dead ten years ago, Americans are stupid though and don't care, just buy a color. Sadly it takes this to wake people up.
Supreme Court said you don’t have a right to repair that fight is over.
@@carrollsanders9376that’s funny, Deere lost.
@@pennylessplantation No the Supreme Court of the United States said John Deere didn't have to turn over it's software to individual users.

The complaint is chock-full of factual allegations to support this conclusion."
Deere has denied the allegations and will have a chance at a later stage in the case to dispute the merits of the farmers' claims.
A Deere spokesperson and attorneys for the company at Jones Day on Monday did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
A lead plaintiffs' attorney in the case, Daniel Hedlund of law firm Gustafson Gluek in Minneapolis, said they "look forward to continuing to pursue the claims of their farmer clients in this right to repair antitrust case."
The case is part of a growing push from consumers and others challenging restrictions on maintenance and repair. A U.S. judge in California this month dismissed a right-to-repair case against Tesla but said drivers could refile an amended complaint.
The complaint, opens new tab said farmers are "prevented from using trusted, less expensive, and more conveniently located skilled mechanics who are not affiliated with Deere."
Lawyers for Deere have argued that only a "small subset" of repairs must be done at Deere-authorized dealerships. The company told the court that it has "never hidden" that some repairs require the company's dealers.
In a filing, opens new tab, the lawyers said federal antitrust law does not require "Deere to give all of its proprietary repair tools and software to anyone who happens to want them."
The case is In re: Deere & Co Repair Service Antitrust Litigation, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, 3:22-cv-50188.
It takes a lot of gumption to get your opinion out there for everyone to see. I applaud it and it's frequently a great thinking morning with my coffee. Keep it up. It's always interesting to hear and always heartening to know that there are those that really care out there. Sometime we get caught up in our own crap and fail to stop and look around see how lucky and blessed we are to live in this country.

@@RockhillfarmYT I live in Texas also, I can find has NO mention of this being an assembly location. I know he is a dealer, but assembled? Does the Tractor Yard get tractors from him?
I would never buy a John Deere, way overpriced, crappy service, and as you said, they are not willing to let the farmer work on it. They are also laying off over 600 people I heard.
Its closer to 2000 sir. And they aren't done.
I won't be buying johndeere.
thats why we buy case ih and kubota equipment now
You Sir and The Rest of American Farmers are Real Heros.. Without You and All the Great American Farmers.. I can't put Food on the Table to feed my Family... Will Support your Boycott of JD
His group owns 5 percent. Not 51.
He owns like 3.8% there chief.
It's now Jaun Deere 🫏
The lowest cost equipment that does the job has a better resale value than the most expensive equipment option.
Example: when both tractors are equivalent in capability, then a $60,000 tractor that has a higher resale value is less financially viable than a $38,000 tractor that has a lower resale value.
Yanmar's are designed and built in Adair Ga.
If I had to do it all over again I’d have bought a Yanmar cab tractor instead of my 2038R
I have a Yanmar SA 325 and love it. It’s a little beast. Also have a Yanmar vio35 mini excavator. So much bang for the buck !
Even JD had some garden tractors with Yanmar diesels made in Osaka, Japan at one time.
(Completely unrelated to subject)on my farm we got 2 john deeres ones a 5095m and a 6430 the rest are a Ford, Massey Ferguson, and a Case IH
Who cares
Very well done. One of your best !!!
Your analogy with the kid makes sense. The only difference for me is that i never loved JD.
OK, in your case, John Deere is like that neighbor kid who broke your window out and lied about it
Enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and your family
They over priced themselves out of the market. Part prices are ridiculous
I do understand the right to repair because of how advance these tractors are now its not like the 70s and 80s when you could pull the engine and transmission with out using special tools
I sure am glad that it’s the want to be farmers that own mostly foreign tractors are the ones who are the experts on this subject.
It's because they're thoughtful and don't have a juvenile love affair with a giant global corporation 😂
If Americans buy made in America only, the problem goes away. Companies will stay in America. But no. We Americans want the cheaper made in Korea, Japan, China, India. Just buy American. Very simple.

I do not understand why John Deere is being criticised for embracing DEI. Dale Earnhardt Incorporated is a fine organization.
Wow, spot on comments. John Deere would be wise to listen to you....but, I doubt they will. I just bought TYM 474C........go red, John Deere will wake up ...maybe ....if enough people do go red. Subscriber from Iowa.
The brands you mentioned are built in the south where regulations are fewer and the labor is non-union.
Nicely done!
Go Woke, Go Broke! Trump 2024

I admired Trump a year ago when he was against EV's but as soon as Musk gave him money he switched and started pushing EV's as good. He even said he was doing it because of the money from Musk.

JD's had factories in Mexico for decades...Use what works for you and what's available. Don't be a brand bunny...They're not loyal to their customers, especially nowadays
Exactly the way I feel.

I own a John Deere but have no plans to sell or trade it in. I’ll still do business with the very local dealer (the main reason I went with Deere). Heck, I have three Everything Attachments implements . . . and look what happened there.

Well said Brock, totally agree,
I looked for months for a new tractor.
Good video dude.
I heard 640,000 people will be losing their jobs what's that going to do to our US economy
Peer pressure on the citizens, companies etc.anti bibical value
You spoke the truth. Companies are being persuaded by their banks to go woke. I don’t understand why any company would clearly and blatantly go against their customers values, it’s terrible for business. Those banks must have a lot of influence
it's kindof like a custom home, the more you have it spec'd for exactly what you want, the harder it is to find a buyer

So long John Deere obviously you weren't watching the last couple years with Bud lite and Target
Agree 100% you hit the head of the nail
I wish there were more brands available in my area. Our only choice in the SE is JD, Kubota, and Mahindra.
Looks like the next tractor purchase will be CaseIH

So sad.
I'm grateful I was raised to be loyal to people not corporations. No global corporation has ever been to my birthday party😂
