Spent $20 on a tech repair kit and used isopropyl from the cupboard and my watch is working again! Thank you so much! Way better than the $180 Samsung wanted me to pay to have it fixed
This is my second samsung watch with the same issue after 2 years usage. Both never been bad use on water...talking with a friend engeneer tecnician...he told me this watchs haves a rubber solving shield...which with time disapear
Yes, the rubber is around the edge I think and that part of mine where it came off like on the picture in the video is glue that also wears off overtime.
No need to open it guys just leave it for days without charging it. Then the day you charge it it'll be back to normal. Also place it directly to the sun for about 30 minutes.
Hey cam you tell me if this will work if the watch got sand in it? I went to the beach and some water got in it and right after that It went crazy and turned off , put it on rice for 2 days and it turns on but it keeps going crazy, it gets hot quickly and the sensor on the back is not on. :( i didnt do antthing to this watch but go to the beach which had worked for me before
Hi, my watch works but when is running the application for ex swimming he get out without press any button, is about the moisture? did you have a such problem? thxs
i have the galaxy watch Active 2 and i always shower / swim with it . a couple of days ago i went to the pool and it just went nuts the touch pad doesn't work anymore but the watch is on i placed it in rice for a whole day but it didn't fix the issue now the display gets blurry sometimes but the watch still works i just can't press anything on the screen please anyone give me recommendations on what should i do ???
That's definitely water damage. When it's damaged like that, it costs more to fix it then to get another watch if you don't know how to fix watches since the only way to get it back to working condition so too open the watch and clean the components with isopropyl alcohol. I recommend getting another watch and keep in mind that the water resistance didn't last for ever because what's keeping the water from going in is just adhesive glue and that gets weak over time.
I know this time is a little old but that's what happened to me and I guess that does make sense the more you put it in the water the less it holds forever. I watch is still on it just has a black screen if vibrates and everything. To get the screen is black. I have my wife for years and I was very disappointed cuz I used to watch for everything almost. I want to get a new one soon anyway but I was hoping it would have last me a little longer. I wonder since it's still working like that it glitched and it came on and went back off but is it still a chance to fix it.
Went swimming now it continues to reboot then stop then start rebooting then turns off again. I've had the back off and dried it but it's still goosed. Does anyone know if a shop could fix it? It's not in warranty. Thanks for your help
My watch 46 mm RSM800 heart rate sensor glass shattered when I accidentally dropped it and it started displaying overheat message and turned off. Now the watch won't turn on unless I put it on the charger and would turn off again once removed. Any idea what might be causing this issue?
That sounds like the battery isn't holding charge anymore. You might try and make sure the connections are clean before reconnecting and see if that helps recharge the battery.
Oh I also learned that the watch only can last for only 30 minutes under the water it actually says it in the manual book. I didn't know that and then now I know and I will be careful next time when I get a new one maybe or if I get this one fixed also.
My problem is what was shown in the thumbnail and wasn't mentioned in the video at all, my back censor plate came off, I just need to know exactly what rubber type glue they used to stick in on in the first place
Ok, so this small plate usually comes with an adhesive silicone type of glue that is stuck straight to the plate when it's new. (the plate is basically stuck on like a sticker to the back) and moisture of water and oils from your lotion etc overtime weakens the glue and results in it eventually coming off. I could not find a glue that could replace that but I found the thinnest double sided tape that I could cut to it's size and with a razor, I cut out the sensor so that it doesn't get blocked by the double sided tape, then aligned it to recover the small glass plate back. I have to replace it about every 3 months or so but it's better than it just falling off.
It did work partly, I am trying to swipe the screen options and then the watch does all kinds of funny things on it's own. Changes from one option to the other like it's possessed LOL, should I reopen it again and do the steps again?
that means there are parts of the watch that got damaged by the moisture which you might be able to fix by just continuing to make sure it's completely dry, but there's also a chance that it might be too damaged to be fixed with this simple trick.
I put my samsung galaxy active watch 2 in the washer for 45 minutes. You think it will still work? I have taken it apart and it kept reebooting with water inside of it when i put it on the charger. Now it just doesnt turn on or charge.
Unfortunately 15 minutes in a washer might have been too much water pressurized into the watch for a simple fix but you can try to dry it if you've taken it apart. Try running it under a hair dryer at very low heat for a while and see if that works but it might need a professional to fix it.
Désolé pour la réponse tardive mais je ne suis en fait pas sûr de celui-là. Je n'ai pas eu ce problème. Mais il est possible que le capteur soit bloqué alors assurez-vous qu'il est propre à l'arrière.
This happened to me as well. I sprayed some WD-40 in there and waited a little (sort of letting it sink in) bit then dried it with a cloth and it came open. Hope this helps.
I took mine in the sauna and then a steam room. Now the screen is a flat fuzzy texture. I have the back off and it sitting in rice. Hoping for a miracle
i wore my watch in water and after I got it to turn, when the screen is on it thinks I'm pressing on it and stuff so the screen is moving by itself and pressing heaps of buttons on the screen its very annoying. Is this something I can fix?
@@Fylosofy_ it doesn't want to charge now. I sit in on the charger and nothing happens. Might be gone for good, unless it's just the charger is also broke
I want to open the watch to try fix barometer but dont want to damage the waterproof seal. Can you tell me if its possible to open easily without damaging or very hard?
I think whether you open the watch or not eventually your waterproofing is going to be compromised anyway after a while. But the short answer to your question is once you open it; you will compromise the waterproofing; that would be inevitable.
@@Fylosofy_ My Altimeter barometer shows 0/0 in Alti meter app, but in test menu it shows -2,000m Altitude and 1,300 pressure (both values impossible and off the chart which is why it shows 0) However if for example I move up 1 meter then the value adjust correctly to -1,999m. @@Fylosofy_ I removed the screws but having hard time taking apart. Is it required to remove the hatch covering the port at back or is because of glue? Any tips on best place to open?

Hi i have some problems my watch was just fine the battery was draining for 4 days until one day just something from nothing the battery just die for a 4 6 hours and i cant find the reason i get only shower with it dont use it when i swim
The the problem is water damage, you will be able to see some indication like fogging inside the watchface. The reason for your battery drain could also be something simple like your wi-fi being turned on or your Bluetooth being connected to your phone all the time. The way you way how you use it can make a drastic change in the way that the battery drains.
There must be a difference in your usage that's causing the change. Machines never behave differently without actual change. Check your Always on display, raise to wake, and backlight setting. Those are also big battery drainers.

Despite what Samsung claims about their watches being waterproof, none of them are actually made to be in the water. After ruining two watches simply by washing my hands, I've decided that I will never buy one of these products again!
It's sad that this is the reality which can actually be fixed by them simply using the same back cover as all other waterproof watches that have been around for years, and just replace the metal with glass instead. But yea they don't last. And if it's not the waterproofing that's a problem, then the battery life will be.
