So many "Christians" (and Muslims) value a woman's intact hymen far more than they value the woman herself.

@@mrmadness2699 many sports including gymnastics, cycling, horseback riding etc can do that. In many Muslim countries a woman can be killed if she didnt bleed enough on her wedding night. Some families pay doctors to sew up extra close to make sure she bleeds plenty. They hang the sheets on their outer wall of their house to prove she was a virgin. They marry a girl of as soon as she has a period, sometimes earlier. If you get her really young she must be a virgin. Many times a father will come home & say "you are married pack a bag I'm taking you there now". The marriage ceremony is between the husband to be & father or brother. She can't object.

@Ron Maimon How do you know this "clergy"has a clue? If you can't trust yourself with reading the Bible on your own,,why would you take their word as gold? That attitude about,"only these special, chosen elite"knows the truth and has our interest and well-being in mind-led to dictatorship, both religiously and otherwise, authoritarian cults(with their "special revelations."),and led civilization backward through the Dark Ages,Inquisition,Crusades, which burnings, and the Spanish Conquistadors with their conquering of the Americas(with their Franciscan Monks in tow)diminishing and enslaving huge portions of the Native populations as they wen(forcing them to accept their religions)-the slave trade run by Jews,Islam, and "Christians",etc, etc.Sheep need a shepherd. Some need an imaginary/invisible one.For some, apparently, they need the artifice of religion represented by some image or facade(like the Wizard of Oz).But whether they know it or not, there's always a"man behind the curtain(usually wanting power/authority/money,or even to make themselves feel important.).And all the sheep have to say about it is,"baaa, baaa!"

@Ron Maimon To bad the God of the impossible didn't find it worth his while to make the Bible easy to understand for anybody that decides to turn it's pages-clear,unambiguous,precise,specific,and consistent, with a harmonious continuity so clear and mind-blowing that everybody would be able to connect the dots and understand it's words without a shadow of a doubt-and their would be no need for all the middle- men or women, mediators, priests, pastors, teachers, scholars, theologians,or apologists/explainers.The supernatural and all-powerful God could create a supernatural book that far surpasses anything humans could write. He could have made it so that whoever opened the Bible would instantly understand it (almost magically),no matter what mental state,I.Q.,level of understanding, language, experience,or background they are.No need for hierarchy, religious pyramid schemes,or trickle-down "spiritual"information. To have people gain a growing dependance on flesh and blood human beings for the spiritual information they need to have a "close" relationship with Jesus, instead of just instantly enlightening everyone with a perfect clarity and understanding of what it takes to be close to God....go figure. Maybe you are happy just being religious-without having a close and intimate relationship with Jesus. But the Bible says the later. You cant have a close and loving relationship with anyone through a book. And you can't have it through any selective mediator(s)or middleman.

I dated a girl when I was 18 whose father made similar threats (not that extreme, but similar) regarding his daughter. Over time, some of the threats and other things both he and she revealed made me feel uncomfortable on a level I didn't understand at the time. Despite my lacking experience in such matters, I started to feel he was talking about far more than his concern over his daughter. That is, I got a distinct impression that he was sexually abusing her. I never asked her about it even though I wanted to. Many many years later, after she lived an extremely difficult life (more abuse, drugs, and jail), she told me about her father molesting her sexually. I don't know the details; I didn't ask nor did she say. However, her telling me that information felt like a missing puzzle piece finally being put into place.
This letter you've shared from this dad is giving me those same warning signals.

When I was barely out of high school in Utah, I started dating a Mormon girl. She would sneak out at night and we would go mess around...and yes, she was a virgin before hand. I think. She eventually told her Mormon Bishop because I guess she was feeling guilt. The reason I say “I guess she was feeling guilt” because I never got to speak to her after that and here’s why...
...after the Bishop found out, he called her father. Her father called my father to chew my dad out because I had deflowered a daughter. My dad laughed at him causing her father to hang up. He forbid her to see or even talk to me. And that was the last I heard from.
He then packed up most of his 10 kids, especially her, and moved to Missouri. Missouri because he was convinced the Second Coming of Jesus was imminent. (In Mormon theology, the Jesus’ return will happen in Missouri because that’s where Joe Smith said the Garden of Eden was located). So I have no idea what the fuck happened other than I no long had a girlfriend who I was enjoying...not just sexually.
Edit; I’m sorry this guy has gone through this. My thing happened in the early 1990’s and I haven’t heard a peep out of that family. And I am now 20 years married to the love of my life and all I can do is laugh at the situation and outcome. I hope she’s happy where ever she is and does not regret our time together.

Y’all, I just rolled my eyes so hard that I think I sprained something. 🤣 I used to be a church youth leader, and I was also secretly sleeping with a fellow youth leader. No one ever found out. I inferred from that experience that the odds of other supposed good Christian young adults being hypocrites was pretty damn high. Honestly, I’m grateful to have learned before I got married that sex doesn’t just have to be something a wife gives to her husband and that I’m allowed to actually enjoy it too. That realization was the antithesis of what the church taught me sex was supposed to be. Glad to be an atheist now and free of all the guilt and shame that the church told me I should feel for “sinning.”

Just FYI; there are some pretty heavy undertones of "spell-casting" within that whole letter. Fanciful beliefs often lead to other hidden fanciful beliefs. Have a weird BrotherIL who acts a lot like that. Esoteric Abrahamic "Warlock" would be a lot of the keywords to find that world. Related to the Jewish community that believes there is a hidden code within the various holy texts.
Toss in a heavy dose of sexual scripture obsession and you have the animus required to write such a letter.

Trump, red triangles. Look it up. Hitler at least kept a lot of his promises. Trump is just as insane, but not even 1% as competent as Hitler was. He can try to be the next Hitler all he wants but he will never accomplish anything in his life. Even his "great economy" was artificially propped up, and collapsed all the same when it was put to the test.

Mainly to create so much chaos that the average American will practically *beg* Pence to take over, and thus create an open path to their little "Handmaid's Tale" knockoff society.

It's a blessing that the father at least still thinks of his daughter as his girl-child and apparently still finds his wife sexually attractive. I can understand ensuring sexual health and education, advocating use of birth control, or even urging the pair to hold off a while (and communicate clearly) just to make sure any teenaged drama doesn't get in the way too soon the morning after, but as a mother I find this letter far too close to incestuous pedophilia for comfort.
