    Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. I’m so glad you’re here, I hope you stick around!

    I am so grateful for these videos. My children are sleeping in. We finally have snow. I read my Bible and now am sipping my tea with Kate and the clan ❄️☺️

    Love these videos. They are great motivation to get dinner started early in the day when I'm not exhausted. And a reminder to need to pull out Marrisa's cookbooks and try some of the recipes!

    Do you think the Marissa Froese recipes could easily sub out egg and dairy?

      I think so....if you are familiar with baking vegan/plantbased. My mom is going to be making some of Marissa's recipes after being plant based for 4 years.

    Your Alfredo-ish sauce you made, did you use a gluten free flour to thicken, or did you use some of your amazing cream? It looks delicious!

      We can stomach einkorn flour, so i tend to use it to thicken sauces that dont need to be strictly GF. For a strictly GF mac and cheese the other day I used cornstarch. I thought I would need less than the flour called for (my recipe on the blog) but i needed same amount and it was terrific.

    Ha, I get excited about gelatin too! I made a batch of soup with a leftover roast chicken a few weeks ago and when I took it out of the fridge the next day it was solid. Just one chicken! No feet! My stepfather ate it cold with a fork😆
