Love your videos and the information you give out. I’m not on Facebook or anything else other than TH-cam. Do you know anyone that has great intel on the rural side? Thanks
If you're a carrier you need to protect your route. Why are you returning to the office 30 minutes b4 end time
And if your route is short then what????
Is your Christmas tree still up? Haha thank you for all the updates!
Since you’re so knowledgeable on contractual issues? Why not come to union meetings? Here’s a Really Good Question for you. Why are you not a shop steward for your local? Never seen you at a meeting. If a carrier gets back early management is responsible to find work for assigned carriers, if no work available to get 8 hours management needs to find something for carrier to do. Now if carrier doesn’t wish to stay to get 8 hours work, Then they must use annual leave. Might want to look up carrier 7:01 rule.
I've used AL and lwop. I know lwop can hurt if you use too much and messes with your retirement days as well but it's an option
You can use leave without pay
Angry Mailman,
Fellow East Tennessean here. I have been extended an offer for a CCA position in Knoxville, and also applied for an opening in Loudon, a town of 6,000 about 30 mins outside Knoxville. Loudon would probably be an easier commute for me, but Knoxville might have more opportunity, but I'm not sure. Which would you choose?
How to file for grievance when Stewart doesn’t help?
Great advice at the end. I’m a 6 month CCA and got on a long term hold down after someone retired. They’re doing a route count next week with me and it’s stressing me the F out. I’m still new and learning this job so I think it’s silly to count a route that I’m carrying.
Just a count or are you gunna be walked with?
an 1838C? Or a 6 day count?
Take ur time . No feel rushed. Don’t take advantage but also don’t cut corners . It takes what it takes. Safety first. This place wouldn’t piss on u if u were on 🔥
Any word on the time to reach top pay? Is it still looking like 13.3 years
You do NOT have to use AL. I am not certain of how the actual process of Clocking out is but it is not our problem If we are done early.
Unfortunately other lazy carers would call people like that Runners and that somehow we are the problem just because we work better and more efficient than they do
U do not have to use al or sick leave u can take lwop which is same as u saying u have down time do not run ur routes
I don't know about this one.... That's exactly what was happening to me for the past few months. I was getting my route done on average 2 hours early and they would either give me extra work for free. Meaning no overtime still with an 8-hour day or if I clocked out and left.. remaining time would be either lwop or they would take it out of my AL..... It got so bad with them giving me extra free work that I ended up quitting
@@esp78g why would you quit? Stop running the route and you would not get extra work.
@@sgtbr2564these guys don’t understand this simple assignment. It’s better that they leave
@@sgtbr2564 sigh... I'm wasnt running I'm 6'7 on one of the shortest straightforward routes in the office
@@drybonesjlYou're right about one thing. It was better that I left. Make more money doing less
I hope with this new contract, top pay doesn’t take as long to get there. 7 years would be good. I just don’t understand the other table starting carriers off with higher salaries way back then when inflation has occurred and the starting salary now is waaaayyyy lower. Makes no sense
If ur back 30 minutes earlier on ur route ur the problem
Sometimes routes are too short
Take me for example. I am not what you would call a runner but I am 6'7 so I can't help that I have a longer stride than most people. I work very efficiently and don't stop to talk to the birds at every house like some people in my office do to kill time. Understand why doing an honest day's work is such a problem if you get done a little early. What happened to just doing your route and going home?
Maybe no lunch?
@@DNolan-qy9pf that's cool if approved
@@esp78gdon’t disrespect other carriers for how they provide service. If you want more work for the same pay keep being undertime every day constantly.
As a T6 coming on my NS and there’s 2 routes on my swing, do I get to choose between the two routes?
If you go in on a NS your not guaranteed anything besides 8 hrs or carrier work
@@drybonesjl I worked on my NS and got a split from another route so that’s V Time, but that wasn’t the question
@@drybonesjl I asked a total different question than what answered….
If there is any routes on ur swing open. You get to choose. I do it all the time.
@@jamesmurphy6314 management splits the route that I want on my swing because it’s curbside and sticks me with the walking route that’s also on my swing… I want to file for grievance but my Stewart says I can’t. I pretty sure the Stewart’s are in bed with management
Carriers paying Union fees and not flexible their rights is crazy.
And the real kicker is if you want to withdraw from the union. You have to jump through hoops of fire and you only have like a 10-day very specific window to do so. Personally, I believe the union is a scam. They Still have to represent you even if you're not a member

How do we fight decisions made by shop stewards and the president of the union .How is it that we have to go through red tape to go higher up .
Business agent. I went above my local president because I didn’t agree on there decision
@@jamesmurphy6314 On the City side we have to scan packages at a business up to 200 plus the package pick up slip . other offices in my district dont . My shop steward is the shop steward for that office and she's the vp.I went to the president he agreed with her. My office is small and my union rep is there pick when it comes to management.
What is your Facebook page please. I’m a city carrier in northern NH
