Hey Hey Mike
Where's the Top Tip Jingle !!!!!!!
Lad's Give this Man a
BLOODY BIG THUMBS UP
I made that video before the jingle and didn't allow space!
Do a Quiky, with just the last few seconds of the video and stick in da "TOP TIP JINGLE"
We need an
Auld Double Dose of Mike
We've been having withdrawal symptoms
Thanks Mike
Been a bugger of a week here - more soon, as I have all the parts for the electric Vac pump now
T'was an Auld fella in London years ago I first came across the candle trick, I was wondering what he use'ta be doing with the butt's of candles in his tool box
and we young bucks lost in a fog of smoke from the
Oxy/Acetelyne and Easing Oil
Till he wanders over to me one day, and says
"Come here Young Fella and I'll show Ya a Trick"
No bother Mike
You must be wore to a thread
Sit back and relax with a Large One ("Of da 50 F**k'n Bottles of Jameson) and stick da legs up,
Oh ya, just an idea, a few comments in your "Back Catalogue" videos, some Lad's were asking for you to tell you life story, (if You look up Ave, Caveman Pt 2 you'll get the picture and you in Da Lovely Deborah's Hairdressing Salon)
If you've got an old stove, a few sticks, an armchair, glass of Jameson's, and just start from scratch, You and Deborah
We'd all love to hear it Mike
Have a good weekend
Take care Mike

Enlightening again. Thanks Mike. 😊👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers for doing this Mike really helpful
No problems
Toooooop Tiiiiiiiiip, there just for you Mike you have to sing it though hahahaha
I made that video before the jingle and didn't allow space!
Well Mike there I am early Saturday morning coffee in hand yeppy new Quickie and you come out with how big your tool is 🤣🌟🍌am glad I watched to the end 😀 👍
Yes it is a big 'un - but it misses the fan blades!
I have gown to expect a video practically everyday, thanks. Not see anything for two days after your views of the PM, I was afraid you were on your way to the Northwest Territories. Thanks
Been so busy lately - tax time!
Hey Mike, I made my "fan pulley holder" just to go over the heads of two of the bolts. 300mm length of 25x6 MS flat bar, drill two holes that are the size across the points of the fan bolts (10AF heads?), at the centre distance between two of the bolts along the centre line of the flat bar at one end. Take a "scallop" section out of the side of the flat bar, just enough to accommodate the centre boss and thread of the fan attachment point. Easy to make for anyone who doesn't have a welder. Use it similar to the tool you're demonstrating. Sorry can't give accurate dimensions I gave the tool to the guy who bought my D1.
That will work!
@@BritannicaRestorations aye! it did.
Good excuse to use my new plasma cutter ,like it, misses will say what do you need another spanner for,now I can show here 😉 and it will stop me swearing. Great video Mike 👍
I welded a shaft to my tool as that was the only flat steel available - you can make a nice profiled tool - better than my cobbled together rush job!
I made my self one that you cen fit small bolts. Maby lil more work but it works.😉
Cheers King Mike. 🥃
Cool 👍
Thanks Mike I thought the government goons did a cart off but the way tool you have made we copied it today and have fixed my ex Brit army mate bucket of bolts I e td powered machine regards john gray Sydney Aust a perentie driver
Not locked up - yet! LoL!
Clear as mud🤣, only joking. Love the videos, I changed my glow plugs the other evening on my 94 300 defender, was panicking that I’d snap the buggers, but I’ve been spraying them for about 3 months every few days, they came of a treat, did bugger up the rubber mounts for air filter brackets, but I’ve new ones on now. I’m gonna send you a wee souvenir from N.Ireland, I’m constantly sending Bournville chocolate to the 2 uncles in Toronto, would you like a few bars with the souvenir? Keep up the good work Sir👍☘️
How'ya Rory
Just a tip if ya if ever have to take them out again, or any Auld yoke that has a reputation for tight plugs
Drive da F**k'n Nuts out of her and melt a few children's birthday candles on the threads
do it a few times over a few days
and then try take em out when she's hot enough to handle
Take care Rory

What real Dark Bournville - now there is something we do no get here!
Yeap the candle trick works a treat!
@@jackvaughan7577 , cheers Sir, I watched a vid on TH-cam, were some lad swore by mixing 50% ATF and 50% acetone, been spraying her every few days after a 20 mile run, since September. She was working fine, and everyone told me to leave her alone, but I couldn’t 🤣. Are you in the LROI page?
@@BritannicaRestorations , yeah, the uncles have been there since the 60’s, they bl00dy love that stuff, Right so, a few bars are on there way👍
I’ve always considered fans on a Landy Tdi engine a bit pointless in English temperatures, I haven’t had one fitted to my disco for about 10 years, think it made it a bit quieter.
Yes I remove them in winter hence the tool!
Good 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Mike does the Puma 2.2 have the same issues with the fan removal? To change the v-belt in situ do you have to remove the fan on that engine? Thanks for all the work you put into making these videos👍
Cannot say - not seen a Puma in Canada!
Is the special tool only required if the belt isn't on? On the two occasions I had to remove the fan I think I just gave the fan spanner a wallop with a hammer. Did I just get lucky!?
I think you got lucky - try getting a rusted one off!
@@BritannicaRestorations Thanks.
Sounds too tight for a belt oil filter wrench or a bicycle chain-wrap sprocket tool for hub service.
Yes tried that and sometimes you can get lucky
Hi Mike
My viscous fan on 300 tdi is always on even when cold, is this correct? How is it supposed to work?
Great videos
Paul
If working correctly they will always spin with the engine running (even when cold due to the drag of the fluid in the coupling). In theory as the warm air from the radiator flows across the coupling a bi- metallic spring moves and ‘locks’ the coupling so the fan is fully driven. They can fail in the locked position. You can test them by seeing if you can spin the fan by hand on a cold STOPPED engine.
Good answer!
@@bigal5932 thank you brilliant
Here it is your video showing how you made the tool: th-cam.com/video/gs5gumMXw5I/w-d-xo.html
You also used this tool on that video, a few years ago, when that power steering pump failed (the pulley and the shaft was out, therefore you couldnt put the poly-v belt to "hold" the viscous fan pulley)
If i am not wrong, the adjuster nut of the hood/bonnet pin also is 32mm, you can use the same spanner as this nut does not require a high torque, right? Cheers! Thanks for sharing
Yes you are correct - for this I use my old fan tool which is thinner
Well spotted!
