Hello KT, I just found your channel and the content is great. I'll be retiring in Vietnam. I married a Vietnamese lady and we are very happy together. We spent the summer in Ho Chi Minh city ( District 1) Vietnam and I was as amazed at how friendly everyone was!
My wife and I are now planning for our retirement in Vietnam.
I will be back and watch more of your videos. Keep up the great work.

At 10:29, you used price of hotel or resort, they are so expensive, if you spent time talk to local people (Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, Nha Trang, HCM city), you can find a room to rent more cheaper.

I have made three trips back to Vietnam since I was a soldier there during the war. The first was in 2013 I stayed for two weeks in 2023 I spent too much traveling throughout Southeast Asia and in early 2024 I spent nearly 3 months in Vietnam. If they develop a retirement visa I'll be there one week later! It is a beautiful country with very warm and welcoming people. I have traveled from the farthest point south to the farthest point north and I have never felt in danger. I have always been welcomed. I'll be going back in 2025 for at least two months.unless, of course, they create a retirement visa in which case I'll stay!

Get a sponsored business visa for Laos using a contact/agent, thats it done about $500 to initiate and $300 annually.
Get a retirement visa for Cambodia $290 using a travel agent thats it done, no financial evidence.
Get a retirement visa for Thailand using an agent, $600 no financial evidence but must report aadress every 90 days (use agent online). No need to leave the house, all done online using email or mobile Line app.
Its my assumption the main direct methods are their to internationally enforce a strict application process and deter undesirables. Agents use immigration liaison officers, same language and simplify the process for all at a non bank bursting price.

The visa is still being debated. Rumour has it that they want retirees with $4000 EACH, so its $8000 per couple. Crazy to put it mildly. If they will implement that, Vietnam, once again, will be at the very end of the cue.

Retirement visa in the pipeline but rumours within the immigration department is that it will be based on monthly retirement pensions exceeding $4000 per month. This is grossly exaggerated but it’s been pitched at wealthy expats instead. Details to come out end of this year in preparation for launch in 2025/26.

Yup...I heard the same. If they insist on $4000 a month I wish them luck.....Nobody in his right mind with that kind of pension will sign up. Malaysia, Thailand and especially Cambodia are going to laugh all the way to the bank.....those 3 lowered the threshold dramatically.

Thank you for the wonderful content the information how to retired in Vietnam.
Retirement VISA is very challenging to Vietnam Government due to the threaten of invasion from the northern border. The chinese government is always looking for the opportunity to send their people to Vietnam, have a lot of babies and educated these babies in the chinese way, once they are old enough to will be the politicians of Vietnam from inside out and taking over control of the country without a single bullet. As you can see the impact of the chinese caused in Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and many more.
Maybe the Vietnam Government can accept 15:39 the Retirement VISA from all countries other than china.

Unfortunately, you are not the preferred visible demographic for teaching jobs in Vietnam. The country is gradually, but surely, prioritizing certain demographics. As more Westerners arrive, the availability of jobs for you will decrease, or the salaries offered will be significantly lower in comparison. Your days in Vietnam are limited.
