Thank you very very much! I've called AC guy and told him the symptoms of my a.c and this guy told me my a.c compressor is locked and need to change the whole unit will be better. He told me $4500. Man!, I've freaked out and followed your video and fixed it by my self. It was capacitor, it looked fat on the top so I called many HVAC supplies because a lot this companies only sell to licensed contractors. I've just paid $33 and works like champ. Today is June 3, 2020 and much thx from Houston, Texas.
4 years late but this video is timeless. Another satisfied TH-cam viewer. Our AC stopped working yesterday. House got up to 90! We were worried we would have to wait until Monday to call for service and then they would probably be so busy. We’d have to wait longer. Watched this video. Signs led to the capacitor. Went to Ace and picked one up for $18. We are back in business. Yeah! 🥶 💨
I used your troubleshooting steps, narrowed it down to the capacitor (complete with the bulged top), found a part locally and did the replacement with the video instructions. My A/C dropped on a hot weekend and all my estimate calls for emergency service were at least $300. I took care of this repair on my own for $25 in parts that same day and my A/C sprang to life. THANK YOU!!!!!
Yeah, I couldn't believe how easy and cheap it was to fix this. The local companies here wanted about $300 also... and I already knew what needed to be replaced. OH, and I would have to pay for the part on top of that. And the part they had was going to be like $40. I got one myself for like $12. At that price I went ahead and got a spare as well. I was expecting to have to do soldering or something else complicated to replace this. Nope, just like the video shows, it's super easy.
@@TheAndriabeshir I got my part on Amazon. The part was made in China but the listing showed it shipping from Amazon and was being sold by a states side company. I got it in just a few days. If you don't trust that process, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc, sells them also... at a slightly higher price. And you will most likely have to buy them from their online store and have them shipped. Btw, even the HVAC company said they would have to order the part if I decided to go with them. All of that said, you might check the company names/addresses on Amazon. One of them might be near you and they might have an actual brick and mortar store you could visit.
I know this video is 3 years old, but I found it last night. We used this video to diagnose and fix our AC in the heat and humidity of Arkansas summer. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It cost us $7 to get a new capacitor from a local wholesaler. No telling how much it would have cost us to call a technician out!! You saved us time and money and it is SO appreciated! Keep up the good work!
Brother you saved my family from heat torture. No one was available to take a look at my ac for 4 days out. Watched your video and found capacitor was toast. Swapped the part and we have cold air back. Bless you man. Appreciate the video.
1) I discovered your vids yesterday afternoon after work 2) Ordered a capacitor overnight from Amazon 3) Woke at a 11 am, watched this, got the tools, and went outside 4) I'm finished, and sitting in nice cool air at 11:55 a.m. 5) Set reminder to cancel Monday afternoon repair appt You sir, are so talented and generous. Thank you again, and I'm about to share your vid with my friends. Keep being awesome! :)
Love to get comments like this! Glad to hear you were able to get it fixed, stay cool!! God bless and take care. I appreciate you leaving a comment and sharing! 👍👍😊
Thank you for making and posting this video. I was able to confirm my capacitor was bad. I found a replacement for $30, installed it and my AC is blowing cold air once again. God bless you!
Thank you for creating this video; you are a natural educator. After watching, I felt confident that replacing the capacitor was within my ability and, once I was able to track one down, I had it up and running in an under an hour. With a heatwave coming, you have saved my family from heat-induced misery.
I repaired my AC twice after watching a repairman do it two years earlier. Changed the hard start kit once and the run capacitor once. I watched you tube videos first to make sure I did it safely. Got the parts from Amazon and saved hundreds on repair jobs. Thank you for sharing this information with the common man.
Thank you for this video. My husband was able to replace the capacitator in our unit & its working fine again. The description you gave on what the problem was, was spot on. And your instructions were very easy to follow. Saved us some money & a week's wait time for an appt w a professional. So grateful especially since temps are going into the low 100's this week. The house got up to 80 inside (overnight & all day w no AC).
A little extra advice - after I changed out the capacitor the board on my Trane XR was flashing green and red so I turned off the breaker for the Air Handler as well as the Compressor for 10 minutes and on reboot everything worked fine - great video, thanks for the advice!
My first TH-cam comment after staring at thousands of vids. Same common story: weather heats up, AC compressor and fan wont go on, wife starts complaining and daughter is (tongue in cheek) making grave threats and me fretting about service call $. A few key strokes land me here. $11.44 Amazon Prime gets me capacitor in 40 hours (Sat night order). 10 minutes outside and cold air is blowing again. Wife is happy and daughter is off the ledge. And I look like the big hero. Chalk one up for the "regular guy". Thanks, man.
Thanks for this. Because of you, I had the courage to take off the cover, figure out the capacitor was blown, take pics of the wiring, find the part locally for $10, turn off all the electricity, and make the switch. My 22 year old unit is now running perfectly. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
It's great to hear that!! :) I am happy that you were able to get your unit back up and running and my video assisted you in the process! Thank you for coming back and sharing! Job well done, stay cool! ;)
Good for u Debra, I did exactly the same thing but it was the fan motor. I ordered the motor from Amazon, and then bought as well capacitor as well as contractor while at it. Replaced all three after taking pictures of the wiring. It cost me around $250 for all three parts, and my ac unit is in good shapes. I saved the old capacitor and contactor just in case for a quick fix if I need them.
I was wondering; where can you get the part locally!, I had checked at lowes and homedepot, but neither one had them in stock. Any input on that would be appreciated!
@@TheAndriabeshir I have repaired my AC several times. Lowes and Home Depot most of these stores do not carry those components. I buy my contactor and capacitors through Grainger locally. They will sell to a normal customer. What I mean, if your not an AC and Heating contractor, many specialty stores will not sell to you. Grainger will and help you get the right components. You just need the original component part numbers. That info is usually on the components. Hope this helps?
I am a maintanance technician, apartment/handyman. I repaired A/C, capacitors, outdoor fans, Contact or, control boards, thermostats, and batteries. I really injoy your videos, I'm still learn from your Videos. Keep up the good work.
This guy is great. Keep up the good work and keep helping the common man to stretch his hard earned pay. I followed his instructions and was up and running! Champion of the people right here!
His videos are no nonsense, ...one of his videos explains more than a hundred hours of other people's videos that were confusing...This guy is excellent.
I hope I have a success story like everyone else. My fan is not blowing and there’s no humming sound at all. I’m not 100% convinced that it’s the capacitor because there’s no bulge. Either way, I pick up a capacitor at a local store. For $15 bucks. I’m definitely going to try it
Your videos are really well done. A week ago the outdoor AC unit stopped working. After referencing your video, I was able to go in - and just as you mentioned- the old capacitor had failed. Tell-tale sign of a rounded top. Went to the local AC store, bought another capacitor, and installed it. Now working like a champ. You saved me from having to call an AC repair company and saved me a bundle. Thanks so much for your excellent instructions.
Thank you so much. Just went and got my AC serviced and the service man said that the capacitor was going bad. To fix it today would cost me $450. I was shocked. My unit is only three years old. It’s an off brand of carrier company. I looked at his video and saw that the fix was easy. So easy as replacing the part for a fraction of that cost. These videos are so helpful. I fix my water heater the videos here on TH-cam. Can’t believe how simple they are. I have an electronics degree from the Air Force and they should be so easy to do.
I'm in Phoenix, AZ and my AC unit outside just went out overnight while the fan inside kept running. It was 87 degrees inside when i woke up at 5AM, and this video just helped me avoid an unlivable house during one of the hottest weeks in Phoenix history. Cheers to you!
Just gone done fixing my AC unit. Had to come back here and give you a HUGE THANK YOU! You saved me a lot of $$ with this video. After watching this video and one other, it just had to be my capacitor that went bad . Brought the part this morning (locally) for less than 40 bucks out the door. Very easy install and I am NOT an electrician, but I know enough about a capacitor that it can ruin your day if not treated with respect. THANK YOU!!!!!!! Thumbs up!
Woke up in a hot Houston sweat at 5AM and realized my ac unit wasn't kicking on. Thanks to this video, was able to diagnose the capacitor as the problem, ordered a replacement thru Grainger, curb side pick up, replaced, and praise the Lord, by 10 AM my AC was up and running again. My unit is a Rheem and uses a 370V, 55 / 10 microfarad capacitor. Thanks so much for this great, easy to understand, easy to follow, video!
@CardiakMusik best of luck man. I hope you get it fixed. My advice is to take pictures of short video clips of each step before doing it so that you put everything back together correctly and definitely so that you rewire the capacitor properly.
I turned on the air for the first time this season yesterday. It was humming, but the fan did not move. After watching your video, I spent $12 on a capacitor on Amazon. It was delivered today, I installed it in a few minutes and it works! You saved me hundreds! Thank you!
Here in tx we had record heat temps this summer and condenser broke this morning. Watched this vid, opened up panel, capacitor had a barcode to scan, called my hvac supply, picked up part for $15, installed and AC IS FIXED!! Still helping ppl out 5 yrs later! Thanks bro! 😀👍
Thank you so much for this awesome and straight forward video!! I’m a first time home owner and I was able to diagnose and fix my AC issue with this video! Thank you for including details describing inside fan works but outside unit doesn’t, and the buzzing noise for a few seconds but no starting-this really helped me to pin down the issue so then when I looked at the capacitor and the top was rusted and bubbled up-I knew that was the likely culprit. Replaced it and now have my AC unit running again 😊
Awesome! That's what I like to hear! Glad you were able to track down the problem and get it fixed! Thanks for coming back to leave a comment, stay cool!
Exactly the same! Just had a big storm and the next morning the A/C didn’t work. I was convinced it was something expensive which sucks being a new homeowner. I searched and found this video. Sure enough, next day delivery of a new capacitor and the ac is ice cold again. $15.99 vs around $200 for an HVAC tech. Thanks I feel like I need to buy you a beer at least.
On the hottest summer day in Arizona, my AC went out and this video was the solution. A quick fix. Found my capacitor at ACE Hardware for $23.99. Thank you so much!!!
I donated! When my AC stopped working I called the HVAC guy and he said I’d be looking at about a week. I knew literally nothing about AC units a started watching your videos and they gave me confidence that I could figure out a solution safely. I was pretty happy when I pushed in the plunger and the machine started up, you saved me a lot of time, a lot of money, and a week of no AC
Thank you for teaching me how to do this repair. I'm familiar with electricity and it's components but not HVAC. My wife texted me at work that the air stopped blowing cold. When I came home I assesed the situation and then watch your video. I pulled the cap and it was bubbled up on top. I had 15 minutes to drive to my local DIY store. Bought exact replacement for 12 dollars!!!!! Put new cap in and turned the air on....boom cold air blowing and in time for dinner. Wife happy now! Best TH-cam DIY video ever!
Im currently going to school for this. And i just passed my EPA Universal. When im not getting enough real world knowledge, i put on videos like this. I greatly love working on things... but you can only work on broken things, which is a bad thing. So watching other people fix their broken things makes me more prepared to see them in the field.
This video saved me $200 easy! My ac unit went out at night and the next morning I fixed it in under an hour following the instructions here. The longest part of the process was driving around finding a heating/cooling shop that sold the capacitor retail (these are not sold at Lowe’s or Home Depot). Thanks again!!
4 years late but you saved the day, Furnace was running and AC was humming like it wanted to start.Switched out the blown capacitor and runs perfectly. Thank you!
I took the A/C apart Thursday night, capacitor was pooched, ordered on Amazon for $17++, delivered on Friday and installed 10 minutes ago. Works like a charm. Thanks for you help!!!
I couldn’t fix it myself but you gave me enough information to narrow down the problem and be informed when I got it serviced. Resulting in the cost not being inflated and they cut cost where it was possible. I really believe going out there and knowing what they were doing helped this grandma. ❤️😄
12 dollars. 12 minutes. Fixed. You are a legend! I would also note my old capacitor was not too swelled up, yet was still the issue. Thank you so much man. You're a prince!
I started troubleshooting my AC (that wasn't coming on) yesterday, and began with the thermostat since it did not seem to work as it should. Turns out that there is a battery (CR2023) on the circuit board that the manuals don't mention (hmm?), in addition to the three AAA batteries they tell you to change. A new battery fixed the thermostat. AC still not coming on, but this post saved the day. I bought the capacitor from local ACE hardware store for $17 and AC is humming happily. Thanks a million to you for this!!
Your video saved us!!! It was spot on!!! I was able to take off the panel…disengage the breaker, disconnect the capacitor and bracket. Long story short replace everything and now we’re cool again…thank you very much sir!!!
I just wanted to say that watching this video probably saved me $150! After buying a $16 capacitor at my local hardware store, I was able to get our AC up and running again! Great video and awesome instructions!! Keep up the great work!!!
You were lucky to find your capacitor locally. I couldn't. I had to use ebay. Once I fixed it I ordered another one to have on hand. (Rural area here). I also bought a spare for the air handler in the attic.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! When the new piece I got was much smaller than the old one I was able to confidently reassure my son that we were doing it right. The little details that you put into this really went a long way. you saved a single mom $100s of dollars and you helped me show my kids that I'm not some helpless damsel in distress.
This was my EXACT problem today. Knowing nothing about AC repair, I was able to fix my unit for $31. Couple notes - I’m in Phoenix area and it was 109 today so getting this done quickly was necessary. Big box stores - Home Depot and Lowe’s don’t carry the part in my area. Made several calls and most other places will install (with huge service fees) or won’t sell to you if you’re not a contractor. Found a place on my fifth try that had my capacitor in stock. Easy install just make sure to have all power off. I turned the power back on to check it worked before clamping back in the bracket. It did...but then grabbed the capacitor bare handed for a nice surprise. Thankfully didn’t touch any 220. Turned off all power before finishing install, powered up again and house is sitting at 72. Great video thanks!
I can honestly say. You are awesome. Thank god I came across your video, you have saved me time and cost. Perfect timing on having this issue happening right before summer. I can say how grateful and blessed i am to have learned how to identify and solve the issue. Thanks to you. Thanks again.
Thanks so much! Our AC fan stopped turning (still has the low frequency buzzing sound as described here) after 33 years. I just installed a new cap and it works out perfectly with your video help. I couldn't find the exact part number, however, I found one with the exact capacitor and voltage spec. (55/5 uf, 440V) from Amazon. When I first turned on the AC, it showed the same problem and I thought it wasn't the cap issue. Then I thought it needs to restore the energy first, so I waited and then tried again, I was all smiling...
I believe mine just went out last night. My husband went outside, and it was making a slight noise, as you stated, and the fan wasn't going. I know I watched another video, and it stated it could possibly be the condensing fan motor. But we are going to check the capacitor first and test it and then go from there. I work at a trade college with Hvac guys, so I'm going to speak with them, too. Thank you so much, and I'm praying we get this fixed. Texas heat is no joke. It was 106 on yesterday. Thanks again!
Adding another comment of appreciation. Went from anticipating a repair bill to fixing it myself with a $15 part in about 5 minutes. Shout out to Amazon for the fast delivery of the new capacitor. Only had to endure one night of uncomfortable heat and humidity in the house.
Awesome! Thank you so much! The guy who we called for repairs claimed the compressor had to be replaced. After he left, I ordered a capacitor online. It came in next day and I had the air conditioner working in 15 minutes!
I leave for vacation tomorrow at 7am, woke up today and my ac wasn’t turning on and making a buzzing sound. It’s supposed to be 95 degrees all week, and my cats were going to be home. I called around for repair 200 just to come look at it and then more to fix it. This video resolved my issue and I saved 100s. Thank you so much!
BROKE 38 year old single mom with STAGE 4 Breast cancer here. THANK YOU!!! I followed your video, ordered the capacitor at 9am from Amazon, by ONE PM I had it switched out and the AC working!!!!!!!!! I SO APPRECIATE YOU!!!!
This was exactly what I needed. Perfectly explained. Efficient walkthrough of the process. Saved me several hundred dollars for a repairman. It was a $10 capacitor replacement. Thank you for the vid!!
I am a first time home owner, and so this was the first time I had to mess with one of these. I was able to fix it by myself just my watching this video! HUGE THANK YOU!!!!!!😌
Ok. My capacitor was out and I put a new one in but the outside unit still doesn't come on. Led 2 on the circuit is blinking with a dark brown wire marked C next to it and next to it LED 1 is on with a red wire marked R. It's a Rheem 2 ton unit
@@detroitfitnessnerd3608 Yes, the capacitors can be bad even with no bulging or leaking. Sometimes a capacitor will look new but when I check it, it's dead.
@@bandmasterjf Somewhere on the access door or on the board it should have a little diagnostic section that tells you what the different lights mean. The error code that you are having, what does it mean? One thing that may work.. Take off the R wire, wait for 10 seconds and put it back in. That might reset the control.
Thank you so much sir! We had a friend staying at our home while we were away on vacation. aC went out and I feared the worse. Your video saved me. I ordered the part on Amazon and it came the next Day for $20. Easy to do and now AC is working fine.
You are a credit to the profession. My two story home was nice and cool upstairs, but downstairs was unusually warm, so I removed the downstairs thermostat cover and noticed there wasn’t a jumper between the R and RC terminals. I installed a jumper and “BAMMMMMMM!” in less than 20 minutes it was cooled to my thermostat setting of 75 degrees. You know your stuff and I thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for all your excellent hvac videos. I diagnosed and repaired my AC myself for $20 after watching your vids. A humorous sidenote: I also learned my nextdoor neighbor owns a HVAC business when he happened to see me taking out my bad run capacitor.
Thank you so much for your video and detailed explanation. Saved me money and time., got my ac running and cooling again in this over 100 degree heat thanks to you!
I know this is an old video but wanted to say - Thanks so much for posting this! I'm not well versed in HVAC but this made the diagnosis easy to follow, I went and purchased a new Capacitor locally that I probably paid double for ($31) vs ordering on-line ($15) but with high's in the 80's and nasty Humidity I didn't want to wait. I swapped it out and turned the power and AC back on and it was running again! Much to the delight of my 40 weeks pregnant Wife!
That's great!! I'm glad to hear you were able to get the AC fixed quickly! Thank you for coming back to share the experience, stay cool! ;) May the final stages/labor go smooth for your wife!! Congratulations! (by the way, nice fish!!)
I just did this today. My house is already 2 degrees cooler. You probably saved my alot of money and sweaty sleep before work. You sir are a giant among men! Thank you!
This 100% worked the very first time. Last night was sitting outside to let the dogs out and I noticed my A/C kicked on but I heard a buzz and the fan didn’t turn on. Immediately got my attention and googled it and found this video and it gave me positive vibes to tackle the issue on my own. Turned the A/C off and disconnected it, opened her up, took a picture of the part and found similar part on google. Found the part I was looking for, ran up to Ace and bought it. Put it in and about 5-10 minutes later turned everything on and it cycled over. Been over an hour and back to normal. Still working! Wahoo!!! Thanks bud!
You sir, are an excellent teacher! I watched this to preview for my husband but I'm pretty sure that I could accomplish this fix on my own after watching you. 10 thumbs up!
I’m a handicapped senior citizen. You video was very informative. I might not be able to do the work myself due to physical limitations but I am now more educated as to what to look for. When the repair man comes to take a look at my unit I will be more empowered to ask questions and more importantly to not get ripped off! I don’t begrudge anyone making an acceptable profit. After all, they are in business. However, should I be told my repair will cost $3,000 I am prepared! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Great video. Saved me a chunk of money by troubleshooting it myself and the capacitor was a cheap, quick and easy fix. Thanks for helping us DIYers out.
You're the best. My ac's capacitor was fried last night. Watched your video and got a new capacitor installed. Outside temp is 113F today and we did not get toasted b/c of your expertise. Thank you sir.
opened the AC unit, assessed the capacitor, ordered the new one on amazon, just installed it the day after!! saved me a ton and was easier than i thought. THANK YOU THANK YOU
Wow thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. As a new home owner this really helped build my confidence. You just saved me $289 and a 1 week wait for a technician.
May 2023. I have a 2 year old unit and it turned out this is what I needed. I found a capacitor at a heating a/c business after Lowes, home Depot, Walmart, and my local parts supplier came up empty handed. It cost me $53. But, it was in my hand and installed in less than 15 minutes! Thank you!
Today is August 29th, 2023. Yesterday afternoon my AC stopped working. Today, we are expecting to get up to 104 degrees. I just watched your video, got the capacitor, and Unit is working now. Thank you very much!!!
Hey Jay, you really share a wealth of knowledge in your videos. You are really an amazing person. I been watching at least one a day. I’m retired from the Pipefitters in Philadelphia after 43 years. Keep up the good work!
This got my AC back up and running after it stopped yesterday while I was at work. THANK YOU. A $30 trip at ACE hardware has us cooling off again. We are in Florida and this was a major life saver.
Thank you sooo much! I was 108F yesterday and our air conditioner wouldn't start. Yikes we called and AC repair service that was slammed so we decided to see if we could trouble shoot it ourselves. The instructions were great! Great advice on taking photos to document the wiring, how to discharge any remaining charge in capacitor, how to check it ! WOW for $17 we are up and running!!!!
My AC went out last night and it was going to be five days until I could get a technician out here. Watched this video and opened the back of my unit to find that the top of my capacitor was clearly bubbled up like you described. Bought a new one at Grainger for $30 and fixed it in five minutes. Thanks a million.
Like others - I thank you for your knowledge - you saved me a bunch. I called a local A/C contractor just to see if he'd help, nothing except they want a $300 + parts service call. The part cost me $21.00 and 10 minutes to take the capacitor out and check the numbers ordered a new one off Amazon - 3 days later 10 minutes putting it in and the A/C is back up and running great.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, that helps the consumer! (I had this problem 2 years ago; a good tech also showed me this blown capacitor, that was replaced).
Excellent video, I test my capacitor and got no reading just replaced it with the new one and the unit is now back running. Thank you for the information, not just the fix but learning something new as well.
Thank you!! Our capacitor appeared fine but we replaced it anyway. We had no voltage meter and didn’t want to spend the $ on a service call. The unit started right back up!! Total cost of $30! The one service place we called quoted us $270 to replace a capacitor! You’re a lifesaver! It’s currently 92° feels like 100° out there!
So our A/C wouldn't start this year and with the 90F weather this weekend, i decided to check youtube and see if I could fix it myself. This was the first video that popped up and sure enough our capacitor was blown. New capacitor installed and now it works great. Thanks for saving us!!
after watching this video, I had my AC up and running again in the time it took me to run to the store and back. Great instructions, great video...thank you!!!
This video is excellent. It is clear, concise and helped me fix my AC quickly. If I had the part on hand, it would be less than a five minute job. The longest part of the job was buying the capacitor. Thank you.
Amazing! had paid a technician to come and told me it was bad fuses but replacements didn't help. (tested the fuses after and they were fine) Checked the capacitor on my A/C unit just as you showed and my 5/40 comes up as 1.9/4.5. Thank you so much for this video! Keep them coming, you're helping so many people!!!
Thanks you. Your video helped me save some $$$. My AC was blowing hot air. I opened the capacitor compartment and found the capacitor was covered with grease. Call local electic shops to inquired about the new capacitor. They said they are only selling items to the HVAC contractors. Found a shop in Toronto who is selling those capacitor to general public. Drove 50 KM, bought new capacitor fix it by following the wiring diagram and boom. AC came back to life. Thanks again :)

@crazy J What company did you call? I would like to use them if it turns out this is The issue with my AC [I'm in Houston too]
@@kaosbboi I believe it was Fred ac supply at 10621 Harwin Dr., Tel. 713-534-1292. good luck! it's Dang hot out there this days.
Amazon sells them too.
I’m having the same problem as well! Here in the H also
@@tater1211 I know, but I couldn't wait another day in this heat, haha
I am glad it worked for you, I am going through the same thing, I was wondering where have u gotten the part locally
Lol I’ll gladly pay 300 to not be electrocuted
Your labor is free? or you paid yourself.
5 years later and your videos keep helping us out man. Thank you and God Bless
Did you get the new part at a local store?
@@yaboyColbyTV have you ever found out where can you get the capacitor locally?
I’m hoping to have your outcome. Off to check my unit.
Shoulda got a second one as a spare/backup.
1) I discovered your vids yesterday afternoon after work
2) Ordered a capacitor overnight from Amazon
3) Woke at a 11 am, watched this, got the tools, and went outside
4) I'm finished, and sitting in nice cool air at 11:55 a.m.
5) Set reminder to cancel Monday afternoon repair appt

You just saved me hundreds of dollars today. The capacitor costed $21, replaced it in less than 10 minutes, air kicked right back on. Thank you!!
That's what I like to hear! Thank you for coming back to leave a comment, stay cool! :)
Where did you buy the compressor?
I'll try today also , have my fingers crossed
@@TheAndriabeshir I have repaired my AC several times. Lowes and Home Depot most of these stores do not carry those components. I buy my contactor and capacitors through Grainger locally. They will sell to a normal customer. What I mean, if your not an AC and Heating contractor, many specialty stores will not sell to you. Grainger will and help you get the right components. You just need the original component part numbers. That info is usually on the components. Hope this helps?

His videos are no nonsense, ...one of his videos explains more than a hundred hours of other people's videos that were confusing...This guy is excellent.
It’s amazing how simple AC works once you know considering the cost to have someone fix one. Great videos. Keep up the good work
I hope I have a success story like everyone else. My fan is not blowing and there’s no humming sound at all. I’m not 100% convinced that it’s the capacitor because there’s no bulge. Either way, I pick up a capacitor at a local store. For $15 bucks. I’m definitely going to try it
@@gritsnwavy3059 and?
Thumbs up!
You're very welcome! Glad to hear you got it back up and running! Thanks for coming back to share your experience. Stay cool! ;)
Thanks bro! 😀👍
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Amazing video. Perfect fix for a simple guy like me. Followed your every step. It's 111.2 F today. Super grateful.
Same here great video
THANK YOU!! Followed this video and fixed my own unit for $20! You saved me from a VERY hot day, and a long wait for a call out. Cheers!
Great vid: No unnecessary talking, yet his how to check/fix the air compressor was easy to understand and visually covered every important detail.
I couldn’t fix it myself but you gave me enough information to narrow down the problem and be informed when I got it serviced. Resulting in the cost not being inflated and they cut cost where it was possible. I really believe going out there and knowing what they were doing helped this grandma. ❤️😄
Many videos may teach you the basics, but are meant to convince most people: Don't touch it! Let a professional do it.
12 dollars. 12 minutes. Fixed. You are a legend! I would also note my old capacitor was not too swelled up, yet was still the issue. Thank you so much man. You're a prince!
You sir are amazing!
Mine didn't work right away. I went back and tightened the plugs to the capacitor again. Did the trick.
This guy is the real deal....I followed his instructions and I saved myself a 250 HVAC repair bill. Thanks bro.
T3chGuy007 $150 or more
What local hardware store sells capacitors?
josenina69 none. You have to go to a hvac supplier probably
You were lucky to find your capacitor locally. I couldn't. I had to use ebay. Once I fixed it I ordered another one to have on hand. (Rural area here). I also bought a spare for the air handler in the attic.
@@josenina69 None that I know of.
Thank you! Thank you!
This video helped me fix my AC unit in July for $13 total. Brilliant.
Awesome! That's what I like to hear! Thank you for coming back to leave a comment, stay cool! ;)

No problem! Thank you for watching and commenting! Stay cool ;)
is there a reason why the capacitor pops every 2 years?
Excellent video, I test my capacitor and got no reading just replaced it with the new one and the unit is now back running. Thank you for the information, not just the fix but learning something new as well.
Good to hear you were able to get it up and running! It's a hot summer, stay cool! ;)
thanks! I swapped out my first ever capacitor today. $25 got my AC going again in 102' heat!
That's what I like to hear! Thanks for coming back to leave a comment, stay cool! ;)
Happy to hear that! :) Stay cool!
This video is excellent. It is clear, concise and helped me fix my AC quickly. If I had the part on hand, it would be less than a five minute job. The longest part of the job was buying the capacitor. Thank you.
Happy to hear that! :) Thank you for commenting!
Worked like a charm thanks! Saved us headaches. Thanks again for taking the time to post.
Glad to hear it! Stay cool! :)
Amazing! had paid a technician to come and told me it was bad fuses but replacements didn't help.
