    INFO: Jason Becker was one of the most talented guitar prodigies in the world. By the age of 6 he could sing, play the guitar and the harmonica. By the age of 16 he had listened to every Clapton and Van Halen record, learning every note and riff from the guitar legends, turing himself into a guitar virtuoso. He was soon invited to work with another guitar legend Marty Friedman, and eventually got on board of David Lee Roth’s band. He achieved all of this before he turned
    20, but that was the year when he met a wall. He was diagnosed with ALS, making it slowly but surely impossible for him to pick up the guitar again. But this didn’t stop him in his journey to create music though. Let’s take a closer look

      It's not necessarily cruel, it's indifferent to what it does. I was attacked by flesh eating bacteria that took my left leg last year, partially took my vision and my blood went septic and I nearly died. I was in the hospital for months, and rehab after. I got right back into music as soon as I got out, practicing to get my chops back. It's about attitude, and refusing to give up. Being relentless in your persual of your dream and vision. Jason surely has that, and I do too. He inspires that when a tragedy hits, you just change the way you do things. You sure as hell don't give up!

    I have done a lot of work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and have been positively blessed to collaborate, in a sense, with Jason and his dad on some media encouraging volunteers for MDA fundraisers. Those Becker boys are straight up just about the sweetest and most generous people around. While I have never had the opportunity to meet Jason in person, the communications that we have shared has been very touching. He is a beautiful human being. He has expressed to me on more than one occasion that he typically greets each day feeling genuinely grateful and thankful for every opportunity that he has to simply experience the life he leads.
    Try as I might, I cannot fathom how anyone who has achieved what he did only to lose it the moment he grasped it can be grateful. And that’s why he will always be a better man than I can ever hope to be.

    Jason Becker is hands down for guitar players of any style our biggest motivation to appreciate everyday were able to play. I WANT A JASON BECKER MOVIE. It might be not so full of stupid /partying but could show his passion. I think intelligent people would love a movie with an attention span on dedication and brilliance. Im not even a fast guitar player and im now listening to Jason Becker to understand his understanding of the guitar and music and most of all how to be decent in life and to people. Thank you Jason you have made my life from laziness and suicidal thought to appreciation and humbleness.

    Jason Becker is one of the best guitar players the neo-classical metal genre can offer. He does not merely play fast but is a very creative musician and knows how to produce incredible and memorable melodies and compositions (Serrana, for example) while still maintaining technical virtuosity. Not many fast guitarists can pull off such a feat!

    • @LieLikesMusic
      @LieLikesMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure. Maybe that's what a lot of the lesser known shred guitarists struggle with?. The fact that they're
      good at playing fast but not able to create memorable music. Seems like JB got the best of both worlds.

    • @Timliu92
      @Timliu92 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LieLikesMusic While I respect the amount of work and skill required to be able to pull off fast licks on guitar consistently, the likes of Satriani, Vai, Becker, Tosin Abasi, Al Di Meola, Marty Friedman and Guthrie Govan are very few, i.e. those who can create memorable music while still maintaining their virtuosic playing. Just my humble 2 cents though!

    Solid content, mostly correct. A couple of points though, Jason was able to finish the David Lee Roth album and right at the end told them about his condition. They had no idea. He kept his secret that well (except for Steve Hunter, his blues tutor).
    And Becker took over for Steve Vai, not Stevie Ray Vaughan. A bit understandable, but still they are wildly different guitarists.
