It is just a swap other than you have to program they Key's for it and set the as-built data mine worked fine with out the as-built data changed but the gauge cluster came out a car that had a rear backing sensors so it would try to use those every time put it in reverse so I ended up finding a as-built data sheet closer to mine and fixed that as well. The track apps and all worked start with but you need the steering wheel switch to navigate the menus right but that was only like 20.00 off amazon.. It's a great upgrade my gauge cluster cost me 380.00 of ebay but it was well worth such an improvement in the looks.

Just a heads up I am in the process of doing this but the program on the computer says that the elm327 is not authentic and can not continue, I did buy the same blue elm 327 mini but I guess I just had bad luck. So make sure it says ford/Mazda!
your a brilliant dude. I bought a cluster but nerves as hell doing this I got a 2011 and I need change the switch in steering wheel but I read you must rewire it . I live in Maryland wish I knew someone close to me who has done this to show me how. I think I need someone behind me to watch what Im doing, Im very impressed with your work Im sorry said slow it dwn because I was watching beginning and jumped the gun . I think to get tra apps you need swap out the abs module to have it work.

Hey man. If it's a premium cluster then yes you would need the navigation button. And to fix that issue with the miles you would need to send it to a programmer like the one I listed. But I'm sure the correct programmer would be able to switch the KM to Miles no problem.
Would I be able to use a Ancel OBD2/EOBD+CAN tool to upload the files? It has a port I can connect to the computer to download files to it it looks like.
The only issue I have is I bought a cluster from a manual shift car and the S or gear selected does not show up by the odometer like the premium automatic transmission cars do. Is there a way to program that into the premium cluster or are they different?
Do you need to make any changes to the ABS as built data? I just picked up a 2013 premium cluster for my 2013 5.0. I didn't see you change the ABS as built so im assuming its doesn't need to be changed?
For a swap from 2010 base to premium would I mostly just have to program the 2 keys. And I wouldn’t have to swap anything else like the steering wheel right?
heybossman, i really doubt you’ll have the answer but i recently did a cluster swap. before i took it to a Ford dealership i put it in myself to make sure it works. Mycolor was there & some other things. Only problem was i needed to reprogram it like you did yourself i just didnt have the accessibility to. Took it to Ford and they gave it back to me without Mycolor saying the car “doesnt” offer it. I feel like he’s bullshitting because everyone else does this like yourself? how does the car not offer it. I have a 2014 mustang, everything was fine before i took it to them. Do you know what I can do? I’m afraid that they uninstalled the Mycolor option from the center display and wont be able to get it back. I appreciate the help and great video!
They simply didn't load the right as built data onto it. You just need the vin number off a premium version of your car and get the as built from that car and copy it over to your car.

You would have to use the program to load the as built data on the cluster. Find a premium car similar to yours and us the vin number to get the as built data to use.

I only did it fast because I figured most people knew how to do it already, it was already straight forward. My main focus was getting the keys programmed. Everything worked fine no issures.

There are places that will correct the mileage that you have to ship the cluster out to, but if you buy a cluster off eBay they’ll sometimes include the mileage adjustment, but for an extra fee, and it’s typically around 90 bucks plus shipping just for fixing the mileage
No it wasn't the same, and there are companies you can send it to have changed but since I never plan on getting rid of my car I decided to no worry about it. Appreciate it man 👍🏽

Update : found another as built file for GT 2013 premium and written successfully. But still the car is not starting. PATS was done again after writing the as built file and it says service procedure completed successfully but same the car is not starting. Installed the old cluster and uploaded my original as built data and PATS completed successfully but still the car is not starting now even with the old cluster. What could be the problem, can you please help me?
@@mrpharaoh08 no, it didn't crank at all in new and old cluster also, and now it is showing the stored key is only 1 and I did several attempts to program the second key but that's not happening. Currently, one key open doors only without starting the car and the orginal key does not do anything at all
You have to have two keys to complete the PATS re-learn. You cannot complete the process without both. You can get a spare key pretty cheap, they even sell them without the key fob built in (cheaper).

Yes,you have to have 2 keys to program. Just go to your local Ford dealer with your title. It's like $30 for a new key

You will have to find a vin from a Premium model and take it to the dealer to reprogram the gauge with it

When installing forscan did your antivirus get in the way? Mine says it is malware and the app keeps randomly closing after I launch it
No I haven't had that problem, try to deactivate the antivirus and reinstall it
After my install I noticed the halos didn't work and I can't use MyColor option?
Probably have to find a vin that has the halo light already, I don't know the specific codes for it.

I wonder if you have an experience of installing it on 2011, my concern is that how to make the premium button works as the cruise control comes with the light switch?

When swapping gauge cluster, do you have to program the lights to work or not?
Long as you program it with a Premium vin everything should work

It won’t let me do the module Initialization stating that I need 2 programmed keys with the new cluster. What should I do?
Put old cluster back in until you have two working keys
V6BEAST so I need 2 working keys on original cluster? Then I do the module initialization on the new cluster or old one? I appreciate the fast reply.
V6BEAST I also erased keys on both clusters on accident and now I’m stuck with no keys programmed to either one and car won’t start with either cluster... number of keys stored is 1 for both :/
@@najeebabbas6402 you could just get the new key and get it cut to your car then program them to your new cluster

I have a 11 GT premium with mycolor and got ahold of a 14 cluster with mycolor, will the process be the same?
I believe you would have to do a little extra to get it to work. Think you would need the module

During module initialization about halfway of it loading it stops and says access denied. What am i doing wrong.
Did you get the extended license for forscan?
