Disabiity Around the World: Arkan and Mika

Indonesia is the planned future site of the new International Spiral Movement Center. On his recent trip to Jarkarta, ASP founder Yuji Oka documented his work with two very special young men with Cerebral Palsy: Mika and Arkan. The two children are polar opposites on the CP spectrum-Arkan struggles with severe spasticity and Mika's body yearns to walk and move. Yet they are bound by the common challenge, to overcome the barriers of past traumas and to move forwards in their journey in life. I can't imagine a higher, finer, and more profound work being done on the planet. Yuji Oka is the rarest of Holy Gems whose facets bestow change where there had previously been no possibility for change, greater peace where it would have seemed an impossibility. May his important work continue to reach all those fortunate enough to receive it. This touching film thankfully documents how the work can move us.
