The wave of nostalgia, the onslaught of memories of countless hours of playing Crystal Chronicles, flooded over me. I immediately shed tears of joy, and felt like I rediscovered a beauty and innocence that I had when I was 6 years old. Nothing but love to you, Donna. Thank you for posting this, we all thank you for what is arguably the most gorgeous and legendary opening track for a video game, ever.
Years later, I still love every single rendition of this song. You've done so beautifully in all of them and managed to capture different aspects of the feeling of being on a journey that this song brings. The very first version feels like an uncertain but hopeful venture into the unknown. The remastered version is like going forth with the belief that no matter what lies ahead, you'll pull through. I absolutely love the way both are done. I recently started another playthrough of this wonderful game and TH-cam sent me this way. Ignore the mean comments, you knocked this out of the park!

And then I find out they've remastered the game and song for the Switch AND you're the singer. Thank you for the beautiful memories, and looking forward to experiencing it all again on the Switch!

It always made us feel like real adventurers. Sitting in the train right now and found this by chance and have to stay strong not to cry, so many memories 😭 I just read in the comments that you were voicing a character in SH2, if that‘s true your voice accompanied me many years later through my teenager years again 🤣

May I ask what instrument the breakdown of the song is? A cousin of mine says it’s a hurdy gurdy but I think it’s a bagpipe or something else perhaps high pitched crumhorn in the original. Do you by any chance know what that is?
Listening to this again after feeling let down upon hearing it in-game, I now see why it sounded off. The song I remembered didn't have the same emotion put into it as this does---this one has more power put into it---but since you extended certain syllables in the verses, it doesn't flow as naturally as the original version. I'm sad because the song sounds great, then the verse hits and the groove is just... weird. The pauses that were meant to flourish the verses don't match the tempo either. (Also, please excuse me, as I'm untrained in music and lack relative pitch.) Somehow, the song, with all these changes I disagree with, still stirs memories. So, thank you for both versions.
Honestly, while I'm glad they remade the game... I'm going to have to ignore it, and play the original. The music was the one thing I had hoped they wouldn't touch, and frankly... all of it is significantly worse. I applaud your efforts, but the changes you made to your style really just.. ruined the soul of it. That and the instrumentation... when I can tell from the first 5 notes that something is fundamentally wrong, something has gone very wrong
