This is so beautiful. This intro is so amazing it left me in awe even as a young kid.
Her voice is absolutely amazing, makes me smile everytime i hear this song, thinking of days playing with the dual GBA adapters.

@@TheMysticalFox Tanioka has straight up said they re did the sound for the remaster because sound engineering has improved and they wanted to get a higher quality sounds for the game. ALL of the sound has been replaced for quality reasons. It is the same singer.

I always loved this game when I was a kid. The ending was a bit tricky to unlock the final scenes, but one of the best Final Fantasy games.
This is the Final Fantasy deserving of a remake. Now that online co-op is common and Nintendo or Square isnt' feeling gimmicky anymore with the add-ons and Link Cables this installment could be very fun to play in a drop in drop out co-op mode as I'm sure it was intended to play as.

I keep coming back here wishing this game got a proper sequel... Or at the very least an HD remaster with online/improved couch co-op. I have so many fond memories, and no other game I play can match the magic of this one for me.

@Clunky Chunky it has Sequels and at least one Prequel. The sequel to this game is FFCC My life as a King from the WiiWare shop. You should get it if you does not have it already.
Unfortunately the best option is just to emulate the game and bump up the visual settings to work nicer on a modern screen. At the very least, emulation has gotten good enough in recent years that you can have almost the exact same experience if not much better than the original consoles.

This game...I remember borrowing it from my cousin for a few times. I always got stuck on not knowing what to exactly do, and just went along and explored the as much of the beginning stages I could. I think I even made up my one story with some created characters, making them go back to town and rest up before heading out again. I never got to complete it, but I still had fun playing it.
I never got past the first section as a kid. Then the disk broke. I can’t wait to play it again on the Switch.

Mariaceleste Hurtadosanchez For what it’s worth I’m a musician and a singer, and the original vocal performance is smoother and overall a better fit for the track. The remastered version sounds like a karaoke cover - the dynamics are messy, the singer’s time is constantly jumping ahead or behind the beat of the song, and sometimes she’s swinging the beat for no reason. I can’t for the life of me understand why they went with the re-recorded version, or why they felt like they needed to re-record it in the first place when the original vocal track was so well executed.
@@brendenbaughman662 My exact sentiment. No offense to the newer performer, but the random slowing down and then catching back up ruined the nostalgia for me when I got the remaster today, I had to come here to soothe that itch that I got from listening to it.
@@Arid2006 Personally I enjoy the new version as well. I had a dig around to double-check, but the new recording of the song for the re-release is by the same artist who wrote (lyrics) and performed the original. I think it's really just that the artist's opinion on how they could improve on their original performance is clashing with your nostalgia for the original version.

Damn. It's hard to watch this without shedding some tears. I bought the GameCube original in 2004. I was 21 and now I'm 37 and this game just takes me back to a happier time in my life when I wasn't always depressed. That said, I can't wait to relive this on PS4.

I came here to get the horrid remake out of my ears. The voice is far too breathy and just overall not naturally fluent into the beat like the original one.
Either bad direction or the vocalist doing her own thing. The vocalist for this version is the same as the remastered one, Donna Burke.
Shes primairly a jazz vocalist, so the jazz influence came through in the new one...but this isn't a jazz song.

They need to remake these type games with modern day graphics...and the 4 player multiplayer through whole game would work hella better these days...would be a hit I feel. Imagine legends of Zelda type play but with 3 others and u beat the whole game with FREE ROAM FOR EACH PLAYER INDIVIDUALLY bosses and all...thought tales of series wouldve done something like this but never did. When they do this thats when it'll be best game ever released. Period

My internet sleuthing has unveiled a vague "summer 2020" date. The game became officially rated in Australia and a few other countries in late February, which indicates that the game is near completion and preparing to enter markets. Keep your ear to the ground!

Shame they absolutely ruined this in the switch remaster. Not only does the vocal style no longer fit the video but the video quality looks worse than the original (like frame drops on the panning fight scene where it’s supposed to blur, how do you mess that up???)

Remastered version botched this song. All they had to do was just put the song into the new version but they rerecorded it and made it different and in my opinion worse.

There was really no need to redo it. The version sang in the GameCube-version was perfect. The re-recording from the Remastered Edition sounds too... over-the-top, if you ask me.
