- The full video of my little bikepacking adventure in the Peak District. I set off from Sheffield ripping down to the Ladybower and Derwent dams where I stealth camp . I’m almost fought by a park ranger but never the less have a great camp. Day two I ride through the hope valley visiting Edale and Castleton . Overall a great little adventure where the Brompton bike once again excelled despite despite one small technical problem.
You're a brave man Terry. Cycling on a main road and not on a cycle lane. I don't think I'd have the nerve.
I avoid them when I can, but sometimes there’s little or no choice
Nice to see another Video from Terry's all bikes!
I wonder what it feels like on a loaded Brompton downhill at 25 mph, pretty scary I'd think.
It's the selfish idiots, like the irresponsible wild campers, that spoil a lot of things, not just camping. It's they that force more laws and rules on everyone.
Thanks for sharing your trip.
Thanks Colin, I’d say 25mph is pretty exhilarating!
Really enjoyed that... well, except for the cars and the way people can be at times. That said, it was the perfect start to my morning, to see your adventures and beautiful country. Cheers from the States.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
The wooden trestles and stone piers were a viaduct for the narrow gauge railway used during the reservoirs construction
Thanks , that makes sense 👍
Well done Terry, really admire you riding in this weather! Looks like you got an Insta 360 as well to work all that magic! :) Safe rides!
Thanks Gianni, however I have to admit this little adventure took place 3 years ago, I am however planning to do do a camp or two in January/February. Take care and as always i very much look forward to seeing your next adventure
Great to see you back on the bike, Terry. A very enjoyable tour report as always, well done.
It is always a good idea to carry a few spare nuts, bolts, and even maybe a couple of self locking nuts as well. Also, maybe consider a threadlocking agent. But if you do that make sure you use the correct one, otherwise you'll have an even bigger issue. I use Loctite 242 medium strength, it should say in the documentation something like: "intended for fasteners that require normal disassembly with standard hand tools".
Thanks , good advice
Nice to see someone make the effort to follow the first golden rule of wild camping... Make yourself as inconspicuous as you possibly can.
All to often on TH-cam we see a group in the local woods with a roaring fire, loads of beers, and then they have the audacity to title it wild camping.
Thanks I know exactly what and quite likely who you mean👍
A touch of déjà vu there Terry before the explanation. Kirk Yetholm is the village in the Scottish Borders.
Thanks for the info, yes released this as 2 separate videos about 3 years ago, picked up a lot of new viewers and subscribers from this re release, really hope to be putting out some new little adventures over the coming months
Merry Christmas Terry
Thanks and a merry Christmas to you 👍🎄
Just discovered your channel, recognised the road down to SWFC straight away! I’m a Sheffield Brompton owner (Stannington) and am about to drop my chainring down to 33T; have you done something similar for touring and our glorious 7 hills?
Hi, I know stannington well my ex is from there. I changed my chainring from 50t to 44t some years ago, there is a video on my channel showing how, also in the next few weeks I’ll be changing it again to 40t as I’m having a little trouble with one of my knees.
Is this an old video , I am sure I’ve seen it before ages ago .
Yes it was a two part video 3 years ago I’ve now released it as one film, because of the way TH-cam works it will be suggested to lots of people who haven’t seen it before.
40 mins … 🥳
🤔😁😂
