Just wanted to drop in and say hi. I really like your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your life for everyone to enjoy. Thanks again from NW Missouri.
We had a big storm roll through a the middle of June and we lost half of one of our big Cottonwoods and a couple big limbs from another one. The big half that broke was hung up and I did the same thing and chained my 4Runner to it and pulled it down. Took a few runs but got it down. Luckily I moved my utility trailer first because it would have smashed it. Ended up hauling almost 3000lbs to the transfer station. Gotta love the shade from the trees but they make a mess at times.
Sorry to hear about the damage. At least you are not replacing glass in your car. Be careful in the repair of the roof so you do not get any glass breakage then. Sometimes what a professional charges you is well worth the price you pay when Exploring Life !! Stay Safe !!
Not an insult at all, I also learned the hard way with a branch and a patio. I now use an electric Dewalt pole saw to take them down in very small pieces so it can't roll/lean onto anything. I think that price is probably a pretty fair deal. Just getting them there is the first 100 or 150 so the rest is fair.
Hey, as Mick Risko said, it could have a been worse. Accidents happen and everyone in safe. $350 is not too bad. Tree service is kinda like towing service - you're kinda subjected to their costs. Tree trimming / removal should be around $300-$700 is about right pending the size and nature of the tree. But, you won't have to worry about it again.
The smoke up here is really bad as you can imagine.ww can't catch a break, any rain we've been getting is usually accompanied with lightning, adding even more fires
That isn’t a bad price at all. I paid $350 to have a 20’ black walnut cut down in my front yard. That was with me disposing of it myself. It would be a lot more if he disposed of it.
$ 350 sounds like a good price for a job like that. I hate to spend on things I can do myself, but sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and hire the pro. as you found out to get the proper equipment will cost about as much as a the guy you found and that's does include your time and effort doing the work yourself. here is a tip however long it takes him to do the job spend that amount of time doing something productive around the house. think about how much it would of cost to have some one do the task you did and I bet you will save more than 350 with that time.
That looks like an Ash tree looking at the leaves. If it is, you will continue to have branch issues. I love ash trees, so sad to loose them like we are. What a freak accident with that hitting your car.
The price is fair, even a little cheap. That's a 500 job, in my area. Cut it back to the crotch. The other leader will take over and fill everything in.

So glad you are all okay and the house wasn't damaged!

Hey glad that you didn't break any glass. I have a question, how come you didn't move your ford focus before you started pulling on the branch?
Enjoyed the video. Thanks.

In Iowa you'd be paying 700.00 or more for that tree, cutting down and removal. You got a deal, your removing from your property, still a deal.
