This looks truly delicious and appetizing. Can’t wait to give this a go. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. I appreciate it. Have a blessed day.
Hi Beth, I couldn't wait to make the cake, but had to use things I had on hand. We don't drink and did not have rum extract. Instead I used 1 tsp of almond extract instead... boy it was a hit with my family! My husband said it reminded him of an Italian bakery in NYC. Will definitely want to try it with rum extract next time! THANK YOU!!!.@EntertainingWithBeth
I just made this cake today! I wasn't sure about how the rum would taste but I decided to stick to the recipe... I'm so glad I did!! This recipe is absolutely delicious 😋 The cake is so tender and the flavor of the apples and rum with vanilla made for the perfect cake! Thank you so much for sharing yet another perfect recipe ❤️ My family will be visiting me from Brazil and they can't wait to try this cake when they arrive for thanksgiving 🍎
I made this the other day. I didn’t have rum so added a bit of brandy and made with pink lady apples. Delicious and will defo make again. Perfect with a big cup of tea
I made the cake! It's the best apple desert I have ever tried. All my family is crazy about it. Thank you so much. I am sending you a giant hug from Croatia ;)
Lol! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yes the blouse is super cozy it's one of the new pieces from Sezane (I'm one of their affiliate influencers) here's the link :) seza.ne/QpuUMak9Cp
I made this cake today and it was absolutely delightful! I only used 1 tablespoon of dark rum as I didn’t know if my 7 year old would enjoy the taste. Gotta tell ya, it was a smash with her. The added sugar on top for the crunch and crackle is a must.
I made this today. The flavours are wonderful and the texture is great. I could of baked it a bit longer. I find it’s hard with so much fruit in cakes to know when it’s done. I will certainly make it again. Thank you Beth. I also love watching your European adventures. I was in Florence, France and Germany this summer. I love Europe. Envy you get to live there.
I love it when you humm and with that devilish look in your eyes tells me how delicious this cake is😋. As the weather cools it is the PERFECT fall cake even here in Florida. No fall leaves and the only colors are the different license plates announcing that winter is coming along with the snowbirds. The morning after Thanksgiving this cake would be perfect I think. Beth I loved your plaid embroidered shirt and I wanted to order it but alas my size is SOLD OUT and not available. I have created an alert so I will keep my fingers crossed. Thank you for ANOTHER wonderful recipe. Bisous 😘😘
And another perfectly timed recipe! It's apple picking season here in central NY state and have plans to go picking this coming week! This cake will definitely be made soon, it looks delicious!!
Wow Beth this video came out just in time. We’ve been in the mood for French Apple Pie but this looks fabulous! Checking my pantry now to see if I have all the ingredients! Thank you so much! ❤❤

@ tried it over the weekend, can confirm, it’s an amazing cake!! And worked beautifully with my GF flour. Will be making this again and again in the fall every year 🍎
My husband and I love vacationing in France, driving all over or staying in Cannes (when it’s not crowded). We really enjoy food and mini portions. So the size of your mixer doesn’t surprise me 😁, it’s appropriate for the small portions 😁. I’m looking forward to traveling to France again! Thank you for all your recipes and a great homie feeling I get after watching your videos! 🌹🌹🌹
Aww thanks Jane! Yes we saw that on the news! Not to worry, we are safe in the Southwest Region (flooding is happing in the Southeast) so that's far from us. But yes it looks horrible!!
Hi Beth, the cake looks Yummy. I just got apples from the apple orchard. Now I know what I can use some of them for. I Love all of your travel videos. I don't fly, so I can be, what do they call it, Arm Chair Traveler? LOL Thank You for taking us along. Thank You also for taking the time to film your videos, and edit them. I look forward to all of your video's and love getting to see France. Hopefully (fingers crossed) you'll take us on more Adventures!!! You look very pretty in your pretty shirt. Have A Great Day.
Hi Beth. I would consider myself a beginner baker and this cake looks doable for me. I'm going to give it a try. I have all the ingredients and the pan. Love these types of recipes!!! Lisa
Beth, I had to tell you about this ice cream base I just made. We have a dinner party on Saturday and I thought I would go ahead and get this out-of-the-way. It is a crème fraîche and brown sugar ice cream. It is so delicious with that tartness.

Beth, maybe you need to look at purchasing an Ankrasrum mixer (or do a collaboration with them 😉). The are made in Sweden, are heavy duty and are much larger than the KItchen Aid. Their design is unique also . You can dump flour in the bowl because of the open top. It’s hard to explain, you need to check it out.
I had been looking for recipes to make an apple cake 🍰 .. you can read your readers minds ❤ I love your cooking and entertaining videos. Looking forward for big ones this holiday season!!💐
Looks lovely. However, there's plenty of salted butter in France. Am French and everyone I know uses salted butter. It's available in every supermarket and "crèmerie".
Right, we do use the salted French butter for savory things, but it's just not the same as the "Salted American Butter" which isn't really salty at all, but just more flavorful.

Love your recipes Beth!!!! ❤
One of my favorite cakes!! You can try boiled cider instead of the run, which has no alcohol and the best apple flavor.
Oh now that's a great idea! :) I've never heard of boiled cider, is that like regular cider?
What is 'boiled ' cider, please? Would it be what I call pasteurised Apple juice?
Yes, it apple cider boiled. @@An-Su18

Aww that sounds lovely! I'm sure Sweden has a lot of tasty treats too!
Dear Beth: this looks mouth-wateringly-good! The ingredients may be unassuming and humble, but I have a notion the crumb is amazing!
