This was first time Latvia participated in Eurovision, 2000. This song still sometimes is played on radio in Latvia and everyone gets nostalgic. 20 years have passed, god damn... I was 12, I remember it as if it were yesterday.

If you get a chance, you should search for the Danish version, "Smuk Som Et Stjerneskud = Beautiful as a Shooting Star." Denmark requires the winner's of their country's contest to then write lyrics in English to perform at Eurovision. Both sets of lyrics are beautiful even though they have different meanings.

It makes me so sad because as a Dane and a big fan of Eurovision these guys and this song have been a big part of my childhood 😭
