The new style could take some getting used to, but getting the extra explanations with the work at that spot does make it easier to follow along. Keep it up.
Been a couple years of watching now, still have no intent on being an HVACR repair guy but still really enjoy watching your troubleshooting and problem solving videos. Keep up the good work my man. ✌
I am no refrigeration expert but thanks to you I am actually starting to understand a lot about how the different components function, and how they don't when things go wrong. I do like the new style. It's a more concentrated form of knowledge injection. Chris, you're brilliant. Don't sell yourself short. I always look forward to your videos.
Love the channel. I have had nothing but issues with the Qrc evaporator coils. A lot of suppliers have stopped quoting them due to the EEV failures they have been getting. Love the channel keep it up 👍
I don't work on commercial very often but even the residential EEVs are a pain in the donkey. I don't recommend them to anyone getting a new system. Their unreliability kills any energy savings they might aquire..
Decent format change. Kind of explaining elementary stuff but good refresher and good for newbies. I can't believe you had 75 ambient in July at night on the roof. We're lucky to see below 85 by 0400
I still have only a partial grasp on more complex HVAC systems, but still love following the troubleshooting process, learning something here and there along the way. It kind of feels like being in an apprenticeship again, only this time you can show everything IRL as it happens (instead of just demonstration on a model or textbook)
When I was in the HVACR we ran preventive maintenance using staff that were not fully qualified but understood enough to test and pick up issues while carrying out the maintenance thus giving better service than company using people who could only change filters and some cleaning. We were able to quote competitively showing what we did for the money.
Microchannel condensers are very similar in construction to computer water cooling radiators. They still use "tubes". They're just flattened out a lot more compared to a standard condenser. Also, I like the new style of putting explanations throughout the video rather than lumping them all at the end recap. I still watch to the end though. :)
Great job that night with everything else you had going on you still took the time to spot check each system find and correct potential problems. Having worked in the fast food industry before getting into HVACR I have to say you have an excellent view of your customers operational needs which makes for an excellent long term relationship.
Yup, just did an installation of a fresh air unit for cooling a main production area, first time I had to figure out and program eevs, all the transducers, blah blah. Thing has controls for everything.
That was a great video I liked how you did the new thing in the beginning and I explained yourself keep up the great work and take care of the family!! Watch to the end too
Thanks so much bud!! I will be going live on TH-cam this evening 10/04/21 @ 5:PM (pacific) to discuss my recent uploads and answer questions from emails and the Livechat, come over and check it out th-cam.com/video/dCQdmPgIWvo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Chris for good video, good explanation, keep the good work you do, I don’t know how can you manage to do everything you do, amazing God bless you.
I definitely prefer the explanations not made on site to be after the job has been finished, as I somewhat have gotten the hang of how everything interacts. Not that I'm aspiring to become a service tech, I just like to watch you fix stuff
I agree. Being a consistent (non-HVAC tech) I enjoy watching and then waiting until the end for explanation of stuff I didn’t understand during the video. The explanation clips during the video are what I would now describe as common sense. No hate here, just throwing my thought in. Keep the videos coming Chris!
@@funneyguy25 you’ve misinterpreted: This ‘new’ format is still just video clips during the explanation. I can’t wait to witness the changeover when the format finally switches to explanation clips during the video, or even video explanation during the clips, but those refinements will take some time and efforts of a man or team who don’t lack so few job opportunities.
Hey Chris, thanks for sharing first off. You are a wealth of information, encourage critical thinking, and I definitely try my best to bring your Big Picture diagnostic method with me in my customer's homes. For this video, I found the step away from your on-site footage jarring but the information provided very useful and important. May I suggest doing voice-over during a coil cleaning montage? Just an idea. As an added note, I can't wait to visit California later this year so I can finally justify ordering from your site to avoid paying the shipping to Canada ($40 hat+$40 shipping =Yikes!) Keep up the great work, and keep sharing the importance of doing something nice for your neighbours (even if they are strangers). I missed it this time around. 👍
The little mini breaks/explanations are good as a teaching method but I like the original style as well for the "service call adventure vlog" kinda deal.. If that makes sense.. I think there is a place for both though.. perhaps different service calls/situations will benefit from one style to another.. or maybe it's the better way to go.. I think you'll find out what works best with time.
Buying the family subscription of TH-cam premium has been well worth it. I haven’t seen an advertisement in 2 years and I can listen to music without keeping the app on screen
You are most fortunate to have a wife that is understanding of you having to go out on last minute service calls and working long hours when you have to Chris! HVAC is a stressful occupation when it comes to family life! I remember early in my career being on a roof top in the summer time ! It was so hot if you touched anything with out gloves you would burn yourself and I thought people with normal jobs would be at the beach on vacation with their families but this is the time when you make money doing HVAC work! Most wife's or girlfriends would have little or no tolerance of that and be gone in a heartbeat! I remember those Sunday emergency calls and the whining and groaning your going to be gone today! How about spending time with me I have to go to work tomorrow! You love that job more than me I am out of here and her telling the kids daddy needs to grow up and get a real job 9 to 5 with weekends off and wear a suit and tie so he can spend time with us! You are so blessed Chris! In life you have to do what you have to do whether you like it or not in order to make it! I know there are lots of things that you would rather be doing than cleaning condensers on a roof top on Sunday Chris! This is a good talk to have with your young technicians!
I do restaurant work but friends don’t forget the institutional kitchens, schools, churches, jails, hospitals, retirement homes. Those are so much better to service and they’re mostly solid as in they’re not going anywhere and have not been impacted like restaurants.

People are funny sometimes. I work in another industry but I've gotten calls On Christmas Eve "we've had this problems for weeks". And you waited until 10 PM Christmas Eve?? People would be like, "But you're getting overtime. Isn't worth it?" It wasn't about the money, it's just frustrating how people put things off. And what I was dealing were safety problems that could potentially damage someone's home. I still work in the same industry, but I no longer do field work. lol
