The best video I've ever watched to learn about value , very inspiring . And using sponge to wipe of extra water from a brush, i think its smart than using towel or paper. I'll try it . Thanks for the demo.
Such a terrific demo, Andy! THANK YOU! PS If you're ever in Kiev, try and get out to see Lviv (LVEEV). It's a wonderful city with lots to do and a little less touristy but still with great atmosphere and things to do! Take care and keep those watercolors flowing :)
Buy three gray markers. Of different values on the gray scale: 20%, 50% and 90% then do a preliminary drawing in those three. That's your value painting. And usually that's all the information you need to make a painting. TH-cam has some great tutorials also. Just search "value painting".
Hi, this is so useful, but honey the mic is getting bumped a lot and making really unsettling noises. Maybe next time move it off the table. Its picking up every movement you make.
My first viewing of your value study and the painting outcome. Thank you for sharing your approach!
This makes soooo much sense. Your demonstrations present a logical process and result in a wonderful unified painting. Thank you so much.
Masterful! I’m beginning to understand his process, a bit. I love how he explains the ‘why’ he does what he does. Thank you Andy!

Great demo and narration. The sense of urgency seemed to add to the drama and emphasize the importance of simplification.
