I bought this book a couple of years ago on Andy’s recommendation. I was surprised to see that a lot of the paintings (like this one) are 7”x10”. The book is great. Love Andy’s work and teaching methods😊
This is one of my all time favorite watercolor paintings. Wonderful to see Andy highlighting it and talking about the various elements that make it such a special piece.
Its really cool to listen an artist you admire to geek out on a painting he admires! Fun to imagine a Sargent doing the same over somebody else’s works :) “Oh my God, Monet! That’s an awesome painting! How did you do it?” Andy is a great teacher!
Beautiful painting. I must confess that with all the different mediums I work in I’ve never even tried watercolor but this makes me want to look into it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Andy’s teaching. We do have a fantastic video series at this link. You will see him create a painting from start to finish If you’re interested, just click this. tucsonartacademyonline.com/andy-evansen-videos
Very enjoyable film, Andy. This is also my favourite painting from the Trevor Chamberlain book. I'm currently teaching a watercolour class in St Ives, Cornwall, and I showed my class, only today, some of Trevor's paintings for inspiration.
Fantastic tutorial Andy! I’ve got the same book but it’s so poorly rendered the pics are all very soft focus. In some ways, you only have to look at TC to see how to paint (and yourself of course)! I believe he’s still going at 91. Great stuff!!
So rare to see a Master explain another Master’s work ..brilliant !
Glad you enjoyed it!
