    Hello from the USA. I love the show. You have taught me how to work clean and make sure it’s done right the first time. I own a 2001 Kawasaki 1500e Classic. You worked on your friends bike with the clutch plates. I learned a lot from that video. You are doing a great job. Oh and your English is just fine. You speak better English then some of my family members. Stay well and be safe. Can’t wait to see the next video you make. Thank you Sir or Old Mechanic.

    Your English is better than my "jip-en-janneketaal"...! However, I gotta admit, in 2007 Honda bastardized the CB600F... so, with all respect, this is a wannabe "Hornet"..... however, that being said, you do produce a quality presentation that is easy and most enjoyable to watch. Thank you.

    I purchased my first bike 3 weeks ago, a 2004 Honda CB600F. 599 in US & Hornet elsewhere. With your videos As a reference (I also bought a factory service manual) I did all repairs & maintenance myself. I finished last night. At 8 am this morning I hit the road. It's now 2 pm, I just got home. Great fun and a sense of accomplishment for maintaining my own bike. Several people complimented the bike & 1 person asked if it was new! 18 years old I said. Wow, it shines like new he said. Runs like new too I thought. 16k miles. I appreciate your time & knowledge being shared as well as the effort to record & edit these videos. God bless!!

    I just came across your channel today after buying a 2011 Hornet. I feel like I discovered a great treasure. Your English is fantastic and you're great at explaining things. Thanks for making videos and keep up the good work! My request would be that you make a video on what to look out for when buying a used bike both in terms of mechanical checks but also questions to ask the owner. Thanks again

      @@TheOldMechanic Thank you Mr Old Mechanic. My hornet (2011) oil indicator is empty on the motorbike when it is cold on the side stand. Does this mean I need to top up until I'm in the indicator window limits?

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lukaszs4041 Hi Lukasz, thats fully normal, as on the sidestand the bike is leaning over to the leftside, while your oil level glass is on the rightside of your bike. To check your oil level you get your bike up to operating temperature, hold it upright (so not on the sidestand. Turn the engine off, and wait for a couple of minutes. Then with your bike upright, look at the oil level glass, the oil should be at the upper mark just as I showed in my video. Hopefully this explanation helps you.

      Hi Radu on this Hornet I checked the antifreeze, in it was in perfect condition. So thats the reason that I didn't changed it. I am sure that in the future I get my friend his Hornet again for the next check. Thank you for your comment and I wish YOU and your family, good health and many great rides !

    Hello again!
    About nissin brakes they are very predictible in Hornet pc41 but i have version with abs so maybe its about that. About channel improovement , in my subiective opinion all is fine but need more videos :)

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Inetpub, thank you for your comment, perhaps I said it not perfect but I ment the brake pads.. The callipers on the Hornet are absolute good..! This Hornet doesn't have ABS, so your Hornet is a real step upwards. Specialy in emergency stop.!! Thank you also for your view on my youtube channel !! Comments like yours will keep me going to make new motorcycle maintenance video's. Maybe not on the Honda Hornet but you will see that the basic principles are the same for a lot of bikes. I wish you and your family good health and hopefully a lot of great rides.

    Hello and goodnight! I am buying a 2002 carburated hornet soon and I love watching your videos, could you be so kind to the point to tell me what are the main things I have to change? The bike has 50 000 kilometres ( which is a lot ) so I was wondering what would be urgent to check

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello This is Bronze, If the Hornet is well maintained by its privious owner then 50.000 km isn't that much. When you are going to buy the Hornet, ask the owner NOT to warm it up before you are there, so you can start up a cold engine
      and listen see if the Hornet makes no loud strange ticking ratling noises and start, up easy. Thats gives a good indication about the battery. Check the tires if they are allright, the chain (watch my video). Pump the front fork up and down, and see if the forkseals are not leaking. Look with a light at the brake pads (front and rear).
      Look at the engine if its not leaking. Put the bike on its center stand and let someone lean on the back so the front wheel goes up, then slowly move the handle bars from left to right and feel if that goes without a 'notch'. It has to go smoothly. Also rotate the front wheel, a bit of a drag is allright, sweeze the front brake a few times hard, and then rotate the front wheel again to see if the brakes are not sticking..Check all the electric things, front lights, rear, brake light, horn, left right blinking lights..
