I agree with his philosophy. Religious dogma is not a good thing--it creates "certainty" along with in-groups and out-groups. Ultimately, it becomes the root of most evil. Spirituality, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. It brings people together in love and acceptance.

They are not "certain", they just believe in it too much so it feels like reality to them.
