Ever wondered if you could track a parcel using one of Apple's AirTags? Well in this episode I sent three! One to North Korea, one to Tim Cook at Apple, and one to Elon Musk at SpaceX. This opens a whole new world to tracking post! It was a wild journey. Strap yourself in and enjoy!

It's not that simple...
Apple's parcel wasn't delivered to its intended destination via DHL. As I said in the video, some businesses have mail forwarding / redirection services in place. DHL delivered the parcel to a logistics partner, paid for by Apple. From there, it could have gone anywhere. Luckily for me, it went where I wanted it to go!
Another example of this would be if you sent a parcel to the Whitehouse. It's highly unlikely that it would actually reach the Whitehouse. Most likely it would be diverted to a separate facility where it would be screened by security / secret service.
It really is that simple hahaha, packages get to places u are dumb to be so shocked hahahaha

Am I the only one with safety concerns? Imagine someone sending these to someone with a public PO Box who they are a fan of just to eventually find out their address. Scary stuff.

Car thieves are using these now. When they come across a car they want they place a tag on it then later that night go to the home and steal it.
I watched a keynote by a youtuber known as LockpickingLawyer. He is hellbent on concealing his identity for countless safety concerns. He has had fans send him tracking devices numerous times and never opens fan-mail at home.
Now we have to send an AirTag to Area 51… for scientific purposes.

as someone living on a different continent from my family, the fact that a package I paid a logistics company to deliver actually gets delivered is not really that surprising anymore.

@@tcrossau Exactly, it’s a bit confusing in Germany. The parcel service of the German postal service is cobranded with DHL as DHL Parcel. Whats internationally known as DHL is DHL Express and he didn’t use that.

Got this on the browse feature. Great content. I have airtags and was never interested in tile or another version. It's great to know they are actually working as intentded. I have mine hidden with some pretty valuable items.

The only problem with airtags is that if you walk away from it will alert EVERY iphone user who comes close to it. It also starts to beep so they can find it.

pretty interesting way to track pagkages, especially high valued items incase if they get lost or "lost" (per USPS)
but with the location accuracy it will be pretty hard to find if it gets lost inside say, sorting facility which can be pretty large with bunch of other packages in there.

Tech video of the year. That was so awesome. I bought 2 - 4 packs the day they came out. I live in a small island in the philippines with a lower economic population. It is useful around the house but still trying to figure out how well they work otherwise. I have only had them for a few days as it took time to be shipped here.

Regarding the Airtag going to Apple that was at what looked like a logistics center, it's likely an Apple-owned building where inbound packages and mail to all Apple buildings are screened. Most larger companies screen all inbound mail for threats.
I've never seen someone so happy and excited about monitoring a tracked package. The guy is totally surprised his mail mailed to where he mailed it to. USPS has this same thing on anything first class. We can track anything and look at a live map and see a live dot where it's currently at.

That confirms what I already thought about dhls tracking information. It's so bad and delayed and often more a approximation of where your package actually is. For the extra price they could at least do it on time.

This is kinda actually dangerous to know. Imagine a bomb with an air tag in a package, the device could be detonated near any target the air tag says it's by, which would allow you to select targets on the parcels path.

That makes no sense at all. Imagine you use it to track a bag, and you go for a trip without it. Is it gonna be beeping until you come back? Don’t be ridiculous

If you leave your bag at home it won't beep, unless the bag gets moved.

Now, I'm wondering If It's legal for me to send some packages to N.korea from here S.Korea. feel like It would go agaist some national security law, and I get contacted by national intelligence right away lmao
US citizens are restricted from sending most things to the DPRK, given current sanctions on them.
