John, I would personally like to thank you, for all your fantastic videos. They have helped me tremendously as has your books. I have been fishing for over 50 years. I live in Ma and would love to drive down to NY and fish with you. Great job and tight lines.
I honestly think that half of the draw of these videos for me is all the banter with you guys 😂 it’s like when I was growing up fishing with my dad and grandpa. Great video!
Idk if that’s a compliment or not for folks their age but I’m sure it’s appreciated! See where you’re coming from, love hearing these Yankees talk haha
Awesome work guys! I fished the same day as you, yesterday, fished the breezy morning but ended up dropping down to a 2oz in the afternoon, ended the day with 18 keepers, kept 10. All sizes caught! Great day for us as well down here off the coast of Delaware
Oh yes I cought one in South Carolina 1991 was doing storm damage repair after hurricane Hugo on Kiawah Island 🏝️ on a mud minnow, live bait was 14 inches
That salt strong map is really intuitive never seen all of those features in one program. Ive tried to get topographic maps for the sputh shore as well as maps for depth and it was a lost cause. This could change a lot of fishing trips thanks John!
Ever thought about trying for an IGFA record? You have a great chance of breaking a line class record. I didn't check but your big one in this video might have been a record for the size line you used. And you gotta admit, having a record would look pretty sweet on your fishin' resume. If I lived in a place with a fishery like that I'd be trying. I have a thing for using 6 lb test and that would be my challenge, the 6 lb line class record. I fished all afternoon yesterday in the Chesapeake and caught 4 short flounder. I don't have the fishery for record attempts.
Just signed up for Salt Strong as I'm spending most of my time fishing in NC outerbanks and just got into fishing the sound from Kayak. I've fished my entire life so I have what I think is a solid base understanding on "fishing" but learning new areas with SO much water to explore is a challenge. For the past month or so, I go out and just poke around and fish areas I think look good and overall, I've had some nice catches but nothing crazy and many days, it takes me hours to find a spot which is working. Some days I'm skunked. I know for many (and for me really) part of the fun is cracking the code but I'm also impatient :). Will be using their content and data to try and make some better initial decisions on where to go and what to target. Cool to see you go through the mapping in more detail. I am just now diving into it.
You may be the best fluke fisherman ever!!! Here's a thought, run a monthly contest where a random subscriber who comments gets to fish with you one day. That would be cool!!!
John, I applaud you letting that old guy go. He's lived long, let him go make more. You're an awesome guy John.
Nice to have released that big fish.

I just scratched the surface with that little two-minute blurb. They're doing a great job.
Man i cant even break the 22” mark here in VA

Welcome aboard!
That was a whale of a fluke you caught! I must say that Rick has a great laugh when you guys are cutting up, you got some good buddies.
You ever fish the great South Bay John?
John you're such a legend to consistently be releasing big fish. Hopefully others look up to you and do the same.
B. B😮
Is there any way you can post where u fish
@JohnSkinnerFishing I also heard rumor's that S&S is done. Any idea how soon I could order some of these bucktails?
Not sure.
Could you have used one of the motors to back troll into the wind?
Yes. It's an annoying way to fish that's probably not great for the outboard.
@JohnSkinnerFishing What Teaser are you using? The link in the info section is broken. Thank you for all the videos!
Fixed. Thanks for the heads-up.
The sea water is very blue. Maybe you can see the fish biting that, everyone.
Very nice! How deep were you guys fishing?
40
In your experience do you notice gulp juice going bad?
No. And the brown juice seems the best.
Does you buddy run charts on that boat JOHN?????
Not sure about this boat. First time on it.
Do you recommend anyone to do a trip like that I’m looking for one
@@williamwagner4687 longislandlethals.com/
Hey John what size leader do you use for 15lb braid
30
Do you keep all your glups(of different colors) in the same jar? Do they bleed out onto each other?
Yes, no.
I wonder if that big fish lived. The head was twisted when it was held up. it spent time losing protective slim on deck.
that saltsstrong shaded relief doesnt look as good as navioincs agree or disagree
Wind turbines. Not milling grain in the ocean

I don't think you release enough fish.
nice release
