The video above shows the attaching of TWO springs in connecting the backboard. The picture of the backboard online shows TWO springs. We only received one. I'll save you the entire story, but after a trip to the hardware store looking for a second and not finding one, my daughter contacted Spalding who told her there had been a change and the unit only used ONE spring now. So if anybody else feels like they might be a spring short... and it really is an excellent video!
If you look closely at the video the springs he uses are smaller than the One spring it comes with now so I figured it was an update to the packaging but thanks for making sure for all of us that it’s one ONE spring.
Christ sake, can’t they have at least some of the smaller attachments installed already? Like the wheels or some other smaller attachments? Might as well send the base in a mold and have you pour the molding too! Would shave off 2-3hrs if you didn’t have to install every damn bots
Saved my butt, these instructions are pretty crap that come in the box, the newer models seem to only have 1 sprint now FYI. The net that comes in box is pretty much garbage $10-$15 bucks on a thick one on a amazon. I would highly recommend having a helping hand on this one, I did about 90% myself but needed help on a few parts.

Hello Cody. Idk why but my elevator assembly looks different from yours and that is the part I’m really stuck on. Did un assemble the handle for it? Because I don’t think I have that silver piece to put on the pole. The instructions manual makes it so unbelievably hard and confusing. Thanks

Nice system overall. I’d recommend going to your local hardware and buying 2 3” fully threaded 3/8 bolts to connect the backboard to the base. What the manufacturer provides can be tricky and difficult.
yes, and there is no washers to hold on the backboard to the hoop so it's very loose. Did you have the same problem? I don't play much basketball but it seems like it could be a problem.
Thank you for taking the effort to document this :) It actually helped me when I got stumped on how to assemble the rim (backplate, rod, then spring screwed on with washer and bolt) and the plastic backboard protectors (use ratchet not a flat screw dooh!) Enjoy hoopin!
Just finished. I hooked the springs to the wrong screw. And I was missing a spring What do the springs do? It seems to be working fine do I need to go back and change it?

I just installed mine yesterday and it only had one spring. It's kinda wobbly if you hold the bottom corner of the backboard and move it up and down. That's just unacceptable and I wonder if yours is the same. I tightened up the bolts on the bars that hold the long bolts that lets you raise and lower the backboard and it's just a little better but still wobbly. I wonder if the second spring will tighten it up more...

John Santiago, yep! Just a few hours ago I was trying to correct the wobbly backboard. I got up on a ladder, loosened all the bolts, squared the backboard up, and re-tightened all the bolts. As soon as I touched the backboard it wobbled and was crooked again. I’ve decided I’m taking this thing apart and returning it.

R Reyes I emailed Spaulding and they said to lift the system as high as you can pull it and then it would lower to the lowest setting. It worked for me when I tried it. Hope that helps.

I bought this goal from Academy sports and was very reluctant to do this myself. Guy at store told me it wasn’t worth paying $200 to have a third party do it for me so I used this video and the instruction manual. It was a total feat. I recommend anyone getting this hoop, save this video in your favorites and have it up with the manual. Thank you for taking the time to record this.

Hi, I am doing everything as instructed (this vid is perfect) but the rim won’t stay in the upright (level) position. Its as if the slam jam bracket is to large for the goal (rim) has anyone had this issue?
Thanks for the video. I am having trouble screw the strut into the base. Any tips how to do this? I'm thinking to release the top bolt first and work on the base to secure the strut into the base loosely before attaching the top section.
This video was so helpful. I followed the manual and this video was exact. Except a couple of steps were reverse and the newer one. I did it with little help from anyone and was shocked I could do it. But I would have struggled way more without your video.

@@CodyFazio hey cody, after a month or so i see my backboard is slightly tilted towards the right (meaning the right is down from the shooting angle) ... do you know where i could have gone wrong or how to possibly fix it?
I set my sons up about 5 months ago and all was good. I now noticed the backboard seems to be crooked rim is straight and seems good but when u look at it from the side u can see its not straight....I checked everything and tighten everything up again but still the same....any ideas of what to check or do?? Thanks
You may have tightened the bolts too much. The ones on the pivot joints require a tighten for the bolts to be flush with the nut. I tightened mine a hair more, because i felt it would help with the wobble.

I’m having an issue adjust the height of the system. It won’t go lower than 9 ft. It looks like the spring is stopping it from lowering.

I can’t get the pole connected to the base. It’s really repetitive
Might need to strip the screws and the holes, me and my grandfather put it together and had to buy something to do that. Hope that helped.

My backboard is crooked. I will have to somehow separate the piles and start from scratch again
I had to take mine back and get all new .i did the same thing and you will never get them apart
Actually you can drop them about waist down in the grass about 3 or 4 times and they will come loose and you can separate the poles.
