  • This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to install the Spalding 54-inch Acrylic Portable Basketball Goal. There are many basketball goals on the market that are made by Spalding and other brands that are similar to this one. This one was purchased at my local Costco warehouse and is usually only available in store for a limited time around once per year.

    Great video... 1 question. On the part where you did the pole to base assembly.. how did you get those screws to face down from the pole Into the base and put the nuts on the back side of the bracket and base ??? On mine the screws go up from the base into the pole with no way of putting a nut on the ends of the screws because they're inside the pole. How did you screw those screws into the pole and then put the nuts on the other end of those threaded screws???🤔🤔

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They were dual ended studs, meaning they are threaded on both ends. I simply threaded one end of them into the bottom of the pre-threaded holes located on the bottom of the pole. This can be seen @4:50 in the video. I threaded them all the way to the hex nut on the studs and tightened them until secure.

I used the base gel because it's supposed to last all through the winter, even after a hard freeze. Which doesn't happen too often here in San Antonio but, we do get an occasional ice and snow storm. Question I’m struggling to make the net lower. It requires so much power and still doesn’t do the trick lol. It goes up to 10 feet easily. Any tips on how to fix it?

    • @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy
      @TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have noticed that it is easier to go up than down (since going up means pulling down on the assembly and you have weight and gravity on your side). When bringing the net down, try to position your footing so that you can leverage your legs as much as possible. This may be tricky if not very tall. My 9 year old daughter struggles with this but when she usually just gets better footing and then is able to do it. Also, maybe adjust the tightness on some of the nuts on the arms that are connecting to the back of the backboard might help a little. Having them too tight might make more difficult. They don’t give any torque specs in the instructions so it’s hard to tell if there too tight or not. I hope this helps! Sorry I don’t have a more definitive answer.
