Daididau is about the composition of Magzhan Zhumabayev, an exponent of Kazakh literature. When in 1928 he was sent to prison, and later sent to camps in North Karelia, Russia, Zuleikha his wife followed him, no matter where he was taken, she always found him and came to see him everywhere. She went to great lengths to get him released from prison in 1936, even asking the famous writer Maxim Gorky for help. During his prison term, Zhumabayev received the lying news that his wife had abandoned him, so Daididau was written as a lament for the lost love and suffering of the nation. But contrary to what he thought, outside his wife worked hard for his freedom and in 1934 his sentence was reduced and he returned to his home. Unfortunately, Magjan Jumabay was detained again in 1938 and executed on the 19th March of the same year.
Dimash is a very proud Kazakh and this song is so special to him because is a traditional song and he dreamt about singing it before a large audience to show his culture and his country to the world. He was almost in tears. The instrumentation is beautiful, the dombra is the instrument he plays in the intro., every Kazakh has one in his home and Dimash’s grandfather is a master of dombra. Dimash loves traditional music and incorporates Kazakh instruments in many songs such as Samaltau version for the Tokio Jazz Festival th-cam.com/video/UvMRkiYu3Js/w-d-xo.html

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. ...and a Dimash 'signature' on the end! This is much more than a Folk Song. It is the informal National Anthem, honouring a great Kazakh Intellectual, Poet and Nationalist, who was imprisoned and eventually executed under the Soviet regime. His love affair with his wife was legendary. While she was travelling unceasingly; lobbying and meeting with various authorities to try to secure his release, he was told she had renounced him, left him for another and he died not knowing the truth. Kazakh independence is still very new, hard won and highly prized. They are a proud people with a very long tradition . * Dimash was trained in Bel Canto vocal techniques which include taking and expelling breath imperceptibly. if you hear Dimash taking a breath you can be sure it is intentional and part of the performance - of conveying the emotion the story. 😊

I am also a Kazakh and I live in Kazakhstan, I, too, like Dimash, am proud to be the heiress of this boundless steppe, the steppe where horses gallop, the steppe where many stories have happened. I am glad that I am part of the nomad world. You just can't imagine how much I love my homeland.I love my history, I love my people. My people have seen quite a few trials. My ancestors lived for the sake of future generations. They expanded the lands for the sake of our future.I can proudly say that I am a Kazakh.I will do my best for my country.Meniń elim máńgilik!🇰🇿

This song is very dear to Dimash, and it`s based on a poem written by a kazakh poet, while he was wrongfully imprisoned under the soviet regime, and he was falsely told his wife had left him. Dimash dreamed to perform this song on stage for the world to hear ; His father`s friend composed the instrumental arrangement. The poet`s name is Magzhan Zhumabayev, and when he was briefly released from prison he was reunited with his wife, who hadn`t actually left him. Shortly after though, he was imprisoned again, and, sadly, he was eventually executed, shot by NKVD. His name was cleared only decades later.
When he sang it in his first solo concert, Bastau, Dimash was so moved that the whole crowd sang along with him , and that he achieved his dream, that at the end he kneeled and he teared up. It was a very emotional performance, and it was so beautifully delivered even if both his in-ears had broken at the beginning of the song, and he gave up on them completely :) Nobody forgets that performance of "Daididau" - even if since then people have heard this song in all of his concerts, and they sing it with him :). You should watch this performance someday too : th-cam.com/video/Ra4v19Rp6cQ/w-d-xo.html

Kazakhs have their own culture. Kazakh President described the twentieth century as a period in which the "Kazakh language and culture have been devastated" (under the rule of Russia, who allowed them to gain back their independence only in 1991). The kazakh language is a turkic language. The soviet regime forced the Kazakhs to use cyrillic script, in the 1940s, in an effort to russianize them. Elite members of their society, including the poet mentioned above, were imprisoned and executed under the soviet regime. Young kazakh men were drafted against their will to fight russian empire`s wars and suffer the casualties, instead of the russians.
Their national language is kazakh, but many know to speak russian, due to commercial relations. That`s about all they have "embraced". The kazakh culture is rich and different. Ancient roots.
You will get to see Dimash`s tribute songs to his country, and his songs inspired from his country`s history (like this one) and understand more.
Dimash loves his country very much, and one of the purposes of his art is to promote his country`s culture worldwide :) You should see his concerts someday, after you have reacted to enough of his songs that you don`t risk spoiling first reactions :) You`ll see him in a 3 h solo concert in New York, in a full Barclays Arena, playing the dombra, singing in kazakh and 4-5 other languages, bringing kazakh dancers in traditional outfits with him on stage...His concerts, the huge ones, are mesmerizing :) Culture overload :)) For the NY concert, people travelled from 54 countries and 41 US states to see all that, and him live :)

The Qazaq letters are changing into Cyrillic again. We, the native Qazaqs speak in our Mother tongue all the time. But in big cities some natives speak Russian because of business. Students study Qazaq, Russian and English at school.

At 22, he was the youngest participant in the history of the show and competed with professional and best-selling Chinese singers as a competitor to the wild card."
I'm a Singer" This is not "The Voice", it's a competition of already known and talented singers.Adding that the organizers keep secret the names of the participants - quite famous singers.
Dimash was the youngest of them. Its organizers invited him themselves.Dimash sang "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" in the competition he was supposed to sing first. There were eight singers, it will go on to seven. Dimash passed. Each day, one participant receives a cup and one leaves the project. There are 14 cups in total. This means that you have to take part in 14 turns. The winner is the one who receives the most cups. New singers join along the way.The peculiarity of the project is that the cameras in real mode observe your every move, film how you eat, how you behave In 2017, Dimash's competitors were very strong, experienced singers, multiple winners of the "China Music World", "M T V Awards" and others.
The peculiarity of this show is that the singer is not limited to performing the song on stage, he is constantly under real-time supervision. The main requirements for the singer in the project "I am a Singer":
    1. A singer must win the hearts of the audience.
    2. He has to show his new face every time.
    3. To perform in a new style, in a new genre.
    4. Sing Live.
The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. In the first round, Dimash received 78% of the votes, ie 1170 votes out of 1500 !!!After January 21, they lost the possibility of a "normal" walk in China! The fans don't let us do that, they're everywhere. By the way, a group of fans enrolled in Kazakh language courses to understand Dimash's native language.Greetings .
    Dimash's words quote:
"When I heard this song" Daididau "for the first time, I was a student at school. At that time I thought that I would perform this song one day. I was living in Aktobe at the time. and then I dreamed of imagining a scene "

There is a video of the back story to this episode and it is amazing. The contestants were able to choose their own song and Dimash chose this very special song to his heart. He contacted his music teachers in Kazakhstan and they all rallied together in a very short space of time to make his national attire and to provide the traditional instrumentalists that Dimash wanted for the performance. The Kazakh’s are amazing and it is so clear to everyone that Dimash adores his homeland and culture and they love and admire him as we all do❤️🇦🇺

Dimash's Father and Uncle wrote this in honor of a dissident, Kazakh poet, imprisoned in Stalinist Russia, and told his wife had found another man. He wrote his lament to her in a letter and died in captivity. It is a scar on the Kazakh soul, and this song is beloved.

Daididau is a Kazakh folk song so it was not written by his father and his friend. Along with his dad and his friend, Dimash made an arrangement of the song and this was the first time Dimash was producing music. He was 15 at that time. By the way, his father's friend is not Dimash's uncle, but Dimash calls him uncle.

I HIGHLY suggest you watch his performance of this song at his Bastau concert which his country sponsored for him after his HUGE presence and success in China. There were 40,000 spectators. There's a surprise introduction which I know you will enjoy immensely, and a very emotional performance from Dimash. Qazaqstan territorie is a big part of Golden Orda (Order). The capital of Golden Orda was Saraishyk - the city of Chingizkhan's son Joshy (Dzhuchy Khan) - was located in the modern Qazaqstan.
The Qazaq language is one of the richest in the world - the official dictionary of the Qazaq language contains more than 2.5 million words.
Qazaq language is the base of many Turky language, including Turkish. More than 40% Russian words are Qazaq.
It was fully formed by the 15th century and has remained practically unchanged since then. It is one of the most stable and conservative languages in the world. Qazaqs even now easily understand what is written on the Kul-Tegin stele in the 8th century. So right now you can hear how and in what language the Golden Horde spoke.
The Türkic group of languages has the most ancient history of the written language - starting from the Sumerians.
In addition, the Qazaq language is the language of poetry and music. Prose was considered something primitive and was called "kara soz" - "black word". Every self-respecting Qazaq had to be able to sing and communicate in poetic form.
You can see that Dimash sings practically without opening his mouth - there are very few open vowels. This is a special technique of traditional singing, echoing with the sounds of Qobyz - an instrument played by a musician.
We see the same technique at the beginning of the Stranger.
For example, when Dimash sings to Dombra, his performance is completely different.

I could perceive it`s roots in Dimash`s art, and in the poems turned into folk songs, they have a timeless transcendental quality to them.

👉 The Dombra is a folk musical instrument widely used in Central Asia. It is made of wood and has a pear-shaped body with a long neck (only in Kazakhstan with frets) to which two gut strings are attached.
The dombra can be rightly called the queen of Kazakh instruments since the XIX-th century. Dombra can be met in each yurta; it was referred to as one the most necessary and obligatory things in the life of Kazakhs.
One of the greatest dombra players was the Kazakh folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, who had a great influence on the development of Kazakh music culture, his musical composition 'Adai' is popular in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Although Kazakh musical instruments resemble those belonging to other tribes of the Central Asian ethnic group, they have their peculiarities dictated by national traditions. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs and Dimash said every Kasacian child learns this instrument.
In many legends the heroes of successfully made use the ability to 'communicate without words:
'In spite of his father's prohibition the khan's son secretly went hunting. He met a herd of kulans and wounded the leader. Infuriated, Lame Kulan killed the youth with a stroke of the hoof. After waiting in vain for the return of his son from hunting, the khan declared that anyone who approached him with that estirtu (bad news) would be executed by pouring molten lead into the mouth. No one dared for a long time until an old dombrist (a person who plays the dombra) attempted. The sorrowful tune of the kyui was able to send this tragic message across to the khan. He ordered that the molten lead be poured into the dombra. That was how the opening in the upper sounding board of this musical instrument came about.

Daididau is a national poem from times when national feelings were suppressed in favor of a "russification" imposed by the Soviet Union. A nationalist poet is said that his wife betrayed him and went away with his friend as a way to baek him psychologically. So he writes this poem that was later played as a song.
As other songs is a protest song disguised as a sad song to say things that can not be openly said, as Samaltau and Autumm strong, this last one in chinese

Thank you for this great and emotional reaction. The next song on the list is Daybreak also very emotional. I highly recommend you to watch again the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel and then the one from Bastau. I‘m glad that you are willing to follow the path of The Singer competition. I think you will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen the Singer version before. As somebody mentioned in some comments, I totally agree that it is always very frustrating when reactors jump on the Bastau version and don‘t even try to activate the subtitles. I can understand that a lot of Dears prefer reactions to this version because it is just incredibly more powerful. In my opinion, however, it loses at bit of its impression, if you don’t know why he sings, the way he sings. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles.
In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. You can see how they suffered with him. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there. After the performance he lost his voice again.
In the video of Dimash FC Deutschland you can see him holding his throat outside and shaking his head in pain right after the performance. But unfortunately you don't see the backstory of Daybreak 😭
The Bastau version (no sore throat) is phenomenal and mind-blowing. So emotional and heartbreaking.
Maybe you can do both together. Some reactors do. In both versions I always cry my eyes out. I don’t know why I have to cry more. Because of the story or the fact, that he was in such pain and performed anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint the audience. Both versions were in the same year 2017. So no harm in developing, just he wasn’t sick.
I hope to see you soon. Greetings from Germany👋

    Dimash FC Deutschland: th-cam.com/video/KMA0-JAcqNM/w-d-xo.html
However, both videos have a dropout towards the end. So don't panic. Nothing is broken 😁

@@JesseReacts Yes, the story behind it is really quite hard. It’s about a cable car accident that happened in China in 1999. The cable car was apparently overloaded and crashed. 14 tourists were killed. Including the parents of the boy this song is about. Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly what happened, but my understanding is that the father lifted the boy when he fell to soften the fall and the boy survived. The little one is said to have been 2.5 years old at the time. Han Hong wrote the song and adopted the boy. Of course she sang the song herself. You might want to give that a listen too.
I’m touched every time I hear this song. Also because of the background knowledge with Dimash’s health problems.
But believe me, Bastau will blow your mind. The emotions he brings in there, the desperation and sadness. And of course the stage show. There are water fountains on stage. I read that Dimash insisted on doing this so that the environment at the scene of the accident could be better understood. He’s just a perfectionist. Thank you so much for reacting to that song. 😘

Everyone says that this song was written by Magzhan Zhumabayev, in fact it is not so it is a Kazakh folk song. But the story of this poet is true. Kazakh writers and many great Kazakhs were repressed during the USSR. And because of the USSR, Kazakh cultures, customs and even stories were lost. The USSR remade the history of Kazakhstan. But when Kazakhstan gained independence in 1991, Kazakhstan began to restore its true history. Russia will never admit that the Kazakhs defended Moscow from the French during the reign of Napoleon and during the Patriotic War in 1941, the Kazakhs showed their best side. The USSR starved Kazakhs and Ukrainians . At that time, 4.5 million Kazakhs died. And the southern part of Russia has always belonged to the Kazakhs, such cities as Orenburg, Omsk, Saratov, Astrakhan. And my country is stillsuffering from its northern neighbor. I hate Russia for this, I am devoted to my country, there are a lot of people like me in Kazakhstan. I hope that my country will be happy someday. I could tell you even more, but it's a long story.
