It’s crazy the algorithm didn’t put this in my feed til now. I understand this take when this video dropped and I get it now. Kendrick has gained some power and can help push these other artists such as yourself to the masses. I think his mission was to use this battle to shine light on the flaws of the industry. I believe Kendrick gained a lot.

I'm starting to believe when Kendrick shout out Dee-1 he was really saying he wished he was naive/simple as Dee-1. Based on this video, I can see the naivete in Dee-1 assessment of the beef. Kendrick telling Dee-1 for all the "woke" he is, he still doesn't understand God or himself.
Kendrick has repeatedly said what this beef is about and why he had to go to "war". It's more spiritual than Dee-1 giving credit for.
On Kendrick's side I don't see this as ego. Kendrick is more loyal for his love for God which drives his passion for hip hop going back to it authentic nature.
He's literally fighting to save the very music Dee-1 makes.
I could be wrong, but i feel he missed the point of the beef and that it was necessary to bring awareness to the industry mismanagement and disdain for such a powerful art form.

Kendrick shows up like he wanted drop three on his head now everybody want peace sounded like J. Cole who made the right decision to get out of the way because he knew it was gonna get ugly! this is a rap battle. This is hip-hop culture. It’s always been this way. Once a rapper says something about another rapper family that’s it gloves come off. why is it so hard to tell the truth. You missed the point, just like Drake. He is saying Drake is profitting of African American pain. He shows the world an image of black America because that it what he is imitating. He is not a part of black American culture, which he is not. Wayne told him not to do this, and he did it any way because of ego. He is trying to protect people who actually have to deal with every day that he does not because of his upbringing. Plus, his behavior toward children should be brought to light.

    • @robhillva
      @robhillva 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@@icecreamjones1 YES, I do not put one person over the good of the whole. I spent 18 months in Spain studying and people I met were surprised that I was not trapping but studying. The image portrayed by one of the biggest pop stars is that we are all womanizing roadmen. That is a hurtful persona to be labeled with when you leave this country. People do not see Drake as a bicultural Canadian rapper who grew up in the Jewish culture. They see him as the embodiment of African American culture. He is not from or a part of African American culture no more than my friend who moved from South Africa to The States and had to be educated on the history of the N word in America. To bring up the slave trade and wearing blackface is proof of his otherness. Lastly, Kenny does not see Drake as a goldy man and as a Christian, he is commanded to rebuke evil. To deal with evil you must first name it. K Dot has done this repeatedly during this rap battle.

I was not aware that light skinned... dark skinned was even an issue. It seemed to be more about an individual who was raised culturally white in Canada coming to America and taking on an identity that he can't truly relate to. Wanye told him to be his authentic self and keep it Canadian... but he chose to a different path. Complexion wasn't the issue. It was more about a person not being able to identify with a Black American experience historically or present day pretending to be something he is not. He is not American. He also is not a gangster. He cannot identify with the nuances of being authentically a part of Black American culture. And in hip hop, there is room for him to be true to the culture he was raised in because he has talent. I don't listen to either one of those guys because it is secular music... but I do believe people should be who they really are. (That includes Rick Ross.) I will pray for all of these guys to find their identity in Christ. 🙏🏽

Great points about Rap beef being sort of lame and that the 'leaders' who could elevate the discussion are taking sides and fanning the flames. Kendrick did say sometimes you have to pop out. And seeing a person you find reprehensible claiming greatness in the rap game when you don't even think he belongs in the category, and you came up the hard way, I can see being pissed. Love the host offering a different perspective on this. Highly recommended.
I wonder what the host thinks of Katt Williams saying it is all coming out in 2024. Scribes and pharisees? I see a through line of artists versus the industry or outsiders versus the establishment. Host has a great high level take. We all choose what we watch and think about and it has consequences.

This is cool, this is fun. But just like he said it’s getting out of control! Drake’s OVO store got vandalized in London! People are being accused of crimes! J-Cole is looking real smart right now! Shoutout Professor Uno, I should have never doubted you. One of the wisest men of this generation! He really is UNO, none like him! Holla at me boo ❤😊 And he’s the first one I ever cold DMed too so I’m in it to win it! 😅I mean why not I have never met any godly man who is of the culture who truly stands on principles like this one. Keep inspiring us!!! 🎤🎤🙏🏿❤

I honestly believe that this is a season where ppl’s hearts are being exposed.
    Christian or not.
Healing is definitely needed. Especially in our community. Our heart posture matters to God. Hard hearts hinder communication with our Father. And this “beef” is evidence of that.
Both of these men are gifted, but they’ve scored hundreds of points for the wrong team. They’re unknowingly using their gifts to be a slave to sin. Nothing about this beef is fruitful.
And I stand by your message 💯%
Fans have to come out of the zombie state of mind. We have to wake up and realize what we’re feeding our spirits. Our souls are too precious to God to continue to destroy them with darkness.
Also, the Bible talks about Unforgiveness, & how our father in Heaven won’t forgive us unless we forgive others. Unforgiveness literally blocks our blessings. These men are literally the weapons formed against themselves. And it’s disheartening to say the least.

I try to move like GOD is watching my every step. God knows I try my best to live as righteous as possible. That's not too hard 4 me bc I already have an empathetic heart. Which can be taking advantage of, BUT GOD continues to bless me over and over. Trust in the Lord, ppl. I don't understand how ppl follow and believe in Satan but act as GOD doesn't exist. Heartbreaking. Really really Heartbreaking. You do have an empathetic heart Dee-1. That is a beautiful thing and u STAND AS A REAL MAN! NOTHING MORE RIGHTEOUS GOD LOVES TO SEE. PEACE & BLESSINGS

I totally agree with what you said in the beginning, rap beef is definitely "lame" and overrated, me personally I rather these rappers just make good music and unite with each other instead of this back and forth dissing, never liked rap beef since 50 and Ja rule went at it back in the day

These points would make sense if Aubrey wasn't on video kissing and feeling up on teenagers, and on record texting with teenage girls as a whole full grown ass, not in yo twenties no more MAN.
Sometimes somebody gotta put in a little dirty work to get a predator tf up outta here.

We as Christians sometimes put ourselves on a pedestal! God calls on each individual to come.
    Matthew 23:8-10
    The Message
“Don't let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates. Don't set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do.

Love that man. Cant lie, the "Beef" really entertained me...and when I think about it it's mostly because i love what kendrick stands for...which IS Not what he did in the battle. He stands for waaaaay more real shit and is able to have a huge Impact on People. So I love that Kendrick put People on to you. It's beautiful to see that you have an Impact on him. Thank you for your words, your work, and your energy, Brother.

Could you discuss the aspect of light skin versus dark skin in this situation? I've been closely following it. They've labeled Drake as a "white boy" and "colonizer" and suggested he shouldn't be allowed to use the N-word. Kendrick's song "They Not like us" further fueled the discussion. The racial divide was significant. Many black fans supported Kendrick, believing his victory was essential for the culture. It seemed like a widespread sentiment, as if there was a memo. It almost felt like they were trying to remove Drake from hip-hop, as if Kendrick winning would lead to Drake leaving the genre.
    Thank you

I hear what you’re saying and in most cases I would ride with you on this one. However, I think this whole thing is kind of going over your head (no disrespect). Drake is terrible, I repeat TERRIBLE for Hiphop and he needs to be put out because he’s too far gone no pun intended. He started off well and I can honestly say he was contributing to Hiphop but at some point I truly believe the industry and fame got a hold of him and he sold his soul. Listen to Buried Alive and you will know what side he chose. Nevertheless, good content, speak your voice always. Respect ✊🏾

It’s funny how this is one of the only genres…if not the only genre where the lyrics tend to turn into real violence. History repeats sadly because everyone thinks their neighbor is the issue….without looking in the mirror. Man’s really said he helps his sons think about what God wants…then proceeds to say he hates his brother and wants to ‘bleed’ him.
