What makes a great diss record is not all that technical rapping. Its when the streetz can feel the scincerity. And RUN NY was felt more. Like Ether was felt more. Its like gettin hit with that Haymaker and coming back and wwhoopin a nggas ass. and thats what happened in that fight.
I wouldn't say it's the greatest but it's tough tho I personally feel like Truth by Gucci Mane is a top ten diss of all time the fact he performed it in front of Jeezy makes it top 7
Jadakiss in my top 5. Im from south Yonkers NY. We used to chill in Getty square and battle each other and just have fun. People don't really understand how deeply embedded hip hop is in Yonkers NY and how grimey we can make it. I once battled a dude on Riverdale and i pulled out a sonogram cus dudes girl was pregnant, obviously wasn't dudes kid, but. I thought it be funny so did he. We would always almost seem like we about to fight or kill each other during the battles,but afterwards it was all love and we would quote each other bars. I miss thise days. Now a days everyone wants to drill so they can make a song.

They took any type of joy out of hip hop, I don't even like to call drill hip hop, it should just be called murder music. I would honestly take a hot NY summer night in the early 2ks and 90s on hot 97. No generation will ever know the feeling of waiting for your favorite songs to come on and hit record on a used cassette tape with the corners filled in so you can record on it. I miss them days for real. I raised my kids on pun, big L , Tupac and tech 9and if course Jadakiss,so they never fed into drill music,I even had my kids watch King of the docs, so they would learn how to use metaphors and bend words. So glad drill wasn't around growing up in NY frfr.
